Chapter 64 The Golden Tree and the Faceless White-haired Man

Golden liquid slowly flowed through the branches, like mysterious blood, giving the tree a strange color. Despite the biting cold and the wind and snow still blowing around, the tree seemed unaffected and remained standing.

When Blore glanced down, he realized how terribly high he was. The ground seemed so far away that he could not reach it. Then he looked down again and saw his three companions climbing up, with Ma Tuan still wearing a white cloth tied around his waist.

"I know where the problem lies. If I want to get out, I'm afraid I have to climb to the top first and actually touch the ball instead of just looking at it." Ma Tuan looked up as he climbed, feeling very regretful. He should have started climbing when Blore started.

"Blore, how long do you think it will take?" Bai Di opened his mouth as small as possible, not wanting the snow to drift into his mouth.

"I don't know either," Blore answered honestly, glancing down.

Looking up, the scene in front of them was like a mirage; looking down, the monster corpses piled up like a mountain, it didn't seem real. The snow seemed to have become illusory, and the only reality was the tree beneath them.

Blore clearly felt that the higher he climbed, the faster his physical strength flowed. Under the huge effect of his physical strength, he suddenly remembered the monster that disappeared last. He looked up suddenly and saw that the white cloth floating around the golden tree began to slowly disappear in the air, and his heart skipped a beat.

He suddenly had a very strange idea. He wanted to tell Bai Di, but then he noticed that his hands had turned bloodless white. He subconsciously felt something was wrong. He touched his hair back and found that it had indeed grown longer and turned snow-white.

He quickly stopped climbing the tree and looked down cautiously. Sure enough, his companions had also undergone more or less changes.

"Everyone stop, I have something to do." He shouted down.

The three of them looked up involuntarily, and were all shocked by each other's changes.

"I have an idea." As soon as Blore finished speaking, he suddenly pounced on the white cloth floating in the air.

"Oh, oh, I can't hold on. I just rolled this thing down with the vines." Ma Tuan was startled, and the vines flew out instantly. Unfortunately, Blore had already pounced on the slowly disappearing cloth. Unexpectedly, he did not fall down, and his body began to slowly disappear.

Seeing this, Bai Di seemed to understand. He leaped over and grabbed a piece of cloth that was beginning to disappear. His long white hair fluttered, just like a heavy snowfall.

The remaining two people had no choice but to do the same, grabbing the disappearing cloth with their fingers that had begun to become slender and white, and watching their bodies disappear.

His body disappeared in the flying snow along with the piece of cloth, and his consciousness gradually became blurred.

In these final moments, it felt as if a grand ceremony had unfolded before his eyes. At the end of the sacrifice, the golden tree was covered in countless white silks, each one representing a sacrifice and devotion. And the trunk, standing tall like a towering mountain, its stature breathtaking, seemed to support the entire world, casting its shadow over everything.

The faceless, white-haired monsters also gathered beneath the golden tree's branches, standing silently as if in silent prayer. These mysterious creatures and the golden tree depended on each other, forming part of this strange world. Now, they too awaited something, perhaps the outcome of this sacrifice, or the birth of new life.

Snow fluttered down, covering the earth, but it couldn't obscure the brilliance of the golden tree. It remained standing, a beacon in the snowstorm, guiding the way. In this land of only snow and wind, it existed forever.

When they opened their eyes again, four people appeared in a small hut. There was only a green light in the middle of the hut, which made the four people look like they had ulterior motives.

"Hey, are we back? Let's push the door open and go out." Ma Tuan jumped up, looked at his hands carefully, touched his hair, and found that everything had returned to normal, except that his hair had grown a lot longer, but the color had not changed. Only then did he relax.

But suddenly he saw that the cloth was still wrapped around his waist. He untied the vines and counted them. There were exactly four, no more and no less. He gave one to each person.

"This cloth looks so strange. All the others have disappeared, except these few pieces." Nan Song suddenly spoke in a sinister voice.

"This cloth looks good, with no traces of stitching, and it's soft and cool. But when I think it's the corpse of that monster, I..." Ma Tuan stuffed the cloth into his small bag with some disgust.

"I feel like we're talking so strangely. Let's go out." Blore looked at the cloth carefully against the green light, then put it away and said to everyone.

"Well, I agree." Bai Di expressed his opinion.

At this moment, the door was pulled open, revealing the face of the owner.

"You were able to come out alive, so why don't you come out again?" His tall figure blocked the doorway, looking at the four people with gloomy eyes.

"Oh, we'll be out soon. Thank you, it's a very special experience." Ma Tuan stood up swiftly and was about to go out.

The owner immediately looked at him with that obsessed look, making him look like he was schizophrenic.

"Can you give me the cloth in your hand?" After a while, he turned his head, but still blocked the door.

"I'm sorry, I think we've already passed it. Does this count as an extra requirement?" Bai Di said in a calm tone.

The owner laughed strangely twice and just leaned against the door, refusing to move away.
