Chapter 71 Fang Ruyue (VI)

"What does a book look like?" Lu'e suddenly asked.

"Well, it looks a bit like an account book, but I didn't pay much attention to it." Jiu Yizhi scratched his head and looked at Bai Di.

Bai Di was fiddling with the box in front of him. The last thing he remembered was that his eyes went dark. When he woke up, he saw Jiu Yizhi's big face.

Seeing that he was awake, Jiu Yizhi quickly stood up, pulled out a stool and sat down. He turned his head and saw Nansong studying the strange murals on the wall.

Bai Di stopped and thought for a moment, "It's about this size, a white paper." He gestured with his hands as he spoke.

Ma Tuan and Xiankelai looked at each other, and saw that Xiankelai suddenly produced a pile of books from somewhere.

At the same time, the ring on his hand flashed.

"Do you think it's in here too?" Lu'e asked the person next to him.

"Let's look for it and see if there's anything suitable?" Ma Tuan responded. "You guys chat first, I'll take a look."

"Okay, there is a massacre in our scene. It feels like the people inside are all under control and don't look like living people. And aren't there hanging silks everywhere where you stay? I feel like there is a dead person tied to each of them, giving people the feeling of a mass grave. All the hanging silks are tombstones with a dead person on them." Nan Song said slowly.

"Oh yes, I saw a little bit too. Those people really didn't look like living people. Moreover, someone came here and set a big fire, but nothing was damaged. The scene didn't disappear at all." Jiu Yizhi also interrupted.

"I also saw many flower fairies dancing. Yes, this is the letter I got from the old lady. Look, it says that Li Zhangliang's family were good friends. I think the most likely reason for the breakup is the property issue." Blore added.

"Yes, yes, yes. In our scene, they started distributing property directly. It was really fierce. And it seemed that Li Si was not real. The Li family has a real young master, and he seemed to be a stand-in." Xiankelai was a little excited.

"But it seems that he is not pitiful either. I think he also played an indispensable role in Fang Ruyue's killing of Zhang San. Moreover, he seemed to have sensed why the Fang family became rich. It seems that he was exposed to something deeper." Nan Song retorted.

"That's true, but now let's think about it. Fang Ruyue killed Li Si, but it seems that Li Si is always alive in everyone's scenes." Lu Nanyao asked.

"No, he is not real, but the Young Master Li Si I saw in the scene seemed to be strangled to death by something." Xiankelai retorted subconsciously.

"No, they were just surrounded. How do you know for sure he died?" Ma Tuan raised his head suddenly. "There doesn't seem to be anything in the book. There's only the number 12, which is the number of books. They're just some bills. There's no land deeds or banknotes."

"The number 12?" Bai Di had been fiddling with the wooden box. He found that although the workmanship of the wooden box was a bit rough, it was very large and would not leave any scratches. It also felt heavy and had a small copper ring lock on it.

I also tried violent disassembly methods, but it was of no use.

"There are eight of us in total, three of us hanging above, 12 sitting on the wall, and 12 books in this pile. I'll try again, and there are only a few ways to combine them."

"Adding two more people who have not appeared here, there should be five people hanging there." Lu'e suddenly said.

"Well, I'll try the combination."

Soon, there was a click.

The entire cave seemed to become very quiet. The candlelight flickered, and the lock was slowly unlocked. In an instant, a faint fragrance wafted out of the box. Bai Di's heartbeat suddenly accelerated. He pushed hard, and the lid of the box opened with a sound.

The sight before him horrified him. Inside, a human head stood facing the sky, a dense mass of flesh, blood, and mud beneath. The bloody stench filled the air, making him sick. The head's face was twisted, as if speaking of endless agony. Within the flesh, blood, and mud, one could see fragments of shattered limbs and internal organs, a chilling sight.

Bai Di's face immediately turned ugly. It could be said that everyone's face looked ugly. Bai Di stood up suddenly, took two steps back, and tried to stay as far away as possible.

"Damn, we've been talking for so long, and he's just lying in the box." Xianmen reacted quickly, but also stood up.

"I've seen it, and the face is the same, but I'm not sure if they're kidding us." Lu Nanyao had already started to confirm the identity in such a short time.

"What should we do? Start cremation now?" Bai Di relaxed for a moment after being shocked, and his brain began to think.

"Don't be in a hurry, the time is not up yet." After Lu'e said this, no one spoke.

At this moment, the atmosphere became extremely depressing, with only the faint fragrance and the smell of blood intertwined together, stimulating everyone's senses.

"Well, now there's a John Smith on this side and another on that side," said Blore.

"I think these two people are the same person." Lu'e replied to him.

"Yes, in the illusion, I also saw Li Si asking Zhang San how it felt to come back to life?" Jiu Yizhi said.

"Have we dealt with Zhang San's body now?" Jiu Yizhi asked.

"At worst, we can just throw this pile of books in and cremate them together." Ma Tuan said indifferently.

"Anyway, it feels very strange to me. Let's throw the box in as well. Maybe it's caused by the grinding of bones." Lu Nanyao added.

"We experienced different illusions, and I don't understand what he was thinking. What if he didn't climb up to find the box? Then we won't be able to complete the first mission?" Jiu Yizhi complained with a dark face.
