Chapter 89 Frequent Danger

Nan Song drank a handful of wine and looked back. He could not see clearly what it was in the darkness, but at this time, no one spoke. Even Lu Nan Yao just lay there quietly, motionless.

She leaped down and ran backwards, only to find herself plunged into a soft, fuzzy world. She was surrounded by a black mist, wispy and dreamlike. She tried to struggle, but found herself tightly entangled in the mycelium, unable to move.

A suffocating feeling immediately set in, and Nansong's chest felt like it was being pressed down by a huge rock, making it impossible to breathe. Black flowers appeared in her eyes, and those flowers bloomed with a strange light, as if mocking her incompetence.

Nansong tried to grab the flowers with her hands, but found that her hands could not touch them at all. Her consciousness began to blur, and she felt that her life was gradually slipping away.

"Isn't that a bit reckless, though..." she thought to herself.

A warm feeling suddenly flowed from her limbs into her heart, and she saw the huge thing.

It was a kneeling human figure, its entire body woven from mycelium. Each strand of silk thread was wrapped around the shape of a woman with her hands folded over her chest in a pious posture. Her skirt was wide and dragged on the ground. Black flowers bloomed on her body. Her face was not visible, only the blooming flowers.

It was hard to believe that these threads could be crafted with such exquisite detail, the woven figures so lifelike and lifelike that they were truly breathtaking. Behind this woman woven from mycelium threads, there seemed to be other mysterious and unknown entities, but due to the obstruction of her vision, Nansong could not see clearly what was going on.

She was bound tightly to the spot by silk threads, unable to move. The woman before her seemed to be confessing her sins, expressing a deep sense of apology and remorse. The black flowers, in full bloom, had reached their peak, emitting a decadent yet intense aura, as if they were about to wither and die. This eerie yet beautiful sight filled her with awe and terror.

Nansong felt that at this moment she had also turned into mycelium and became an omnipresent presence.

She saw her body begin to melt, gradually merging with the surrounding mycelium. She felt a mysterious power flowing through her, as if she was connected to the entire world.

Over time, she discovered she could sense the presence and movement of each mycelium strand, manipulating them at will to weave into various shapes and structures as she wished.

In a trance, she felt like she was back in the village, but the village had been razed to the ground and nothing was left. She inexplicably felt regret and unwillingness in her heart, but this was followed by overwhelming anger.

She began to explore this new ability, creating beautiful and unique patterns. She used the mycelium to construct numerous cute little houses, filled with rare treasures; she also created a group of adorable little animals that ran and played happily on the mycelium. Then she constructed people. Unfortunately, perhaps because she didn't have enough energy or some other reason, the people were very crude and looked not delicate at all.

She gradually built up a kingdom, which was in perfect order, except that the shapes of the humans were a little strange. But she didn't care. Everything here was just her dream. Since she was going to dream, why should she worry about so many things?

In this process, Nansong gradually forgot that she was once a human being, and was completely immersed in the world of mycelium. She enjoyed this free and unrestrained life and felt the beauty of living in harmony with nature.

However, when she returned to reality, she found that everything had changed. She had lost her human identity and memories, and only had her love and dependence on the mycelium.

Finally, she conjured up two powers, which were two similar faces. Each of them could see with only one eye, but what was interesting was that because the powers complemented each other, if they were together, both eyes could see. If the distance was farther, their vision would continue to decline until it disappeared completely.

Nan Song's consciousness became increasingly faint, and she didn't know why she did that. The last time she saw her, she was lying on the top of the tower, looking up at the full moon. She slowly moved her hand away from her right eye, and at the same time, a black flower slowly bloomed in her right eye socket.

*

When she opened her eyes again, she saw a vague black figure in front of her. She and two other people had their hands and feet tied with mycelium and were being dragged forward bit by bit.

Lu Nanyao seemed to have been awake for a while. Seeing Nansong wake up, she smiled at her, and the meaning was very clear: don't act rashly and observe the situation first.

Nan Song understood what she meant, but at this moment a beam of light came from somewhere. Nan Song glanced forward casually, and his pupils contracted instantly.

In the dimly lit passage, a chilling figure appeared ahead. It was a humanoid figure woven from mycelium. The mycelium was delicate yet resilient, interwoven together to form a lifelike human silhouette. The figure's body was tall and slender, completely enveloped by the pitch-black mycelium like a thick shadow.

Particularly striking was the fact that the mycelium had even formed the shape of a long, swinging skirt, which fluttered in the wind, lending this eerie figure a sinister air. In the pitch-black darkness, the figure loomed enormous, its shadow casting a shadow over the two figures behind it, leaving them feeling a sense of invisible oppression.

In the dark, damp corridor, a humanoid form transformed from mycelium slowly wriggled, its body like a ghost, emitting an eerie aura. Nansong and another person were bound hand and foot, being dragged forward by the humanoid monster.
