Chapter 77 The White-haired Man and the Black Buddha Statue

"How strange."

These little men are not evenly distributed. They are everywhere under the mushrooms, and they don’t seem to care whether your mushroom is big or small.

Ma Tuan squatted down and began to observe this strange creature.

"There are mushrooms everywhere, and the road seems so difficult to walk on." Blore looked around and found it difficult to find a road leading deep into the forest.

"Do you think this little man will suddenly turn into a three-meter-tall monster?" After observing carefully, Ma Tuan expressed his opinion with his imagination open.

"Look at this person's face. Do you think there are any similarities with the Buddha statue just now?" Bai Di also squatted down and began to observe.

"Can you hold this little one? And it's so dark, how can you see this person's face?" Ma Tuan simply lay down there and observed the black little man.

"Stop looking, get up, someone is coming." Bai Di quickly kicked Ma Tuan lightly.

"Isn't this the only place where people come?" Ma Tuan said he really couldn't care less, but having said that, he still got up.

The three of them quickly climbed up the tree, and then swung from one tree to another, doing several swings in a row. Of course, except for Blore, the other two people would not admit that they were swinging, especially Ma Tuan, who told Blore that he was flying over. Blore did not care about him and took his word for it.

I have to say that Bai Di was really accurate. After they were quiet for a while, they made a discovery.

In the dense forest, a group of people slowly emerged. Their figures were short and hunched, and each of them was carrying a huge bamboo basket, and it was unclear what was inside.

An old man walked in front, his face deeply wrinkled by time, his white hair fluttering gently in the breeze. Behind him were a group of children, their hair also white, the mark of having experienced the vicissitudes of life too early.

Their steps were slow and heavy, as if every step required immense effort. As the basket got closer, Ma Tuan realized it was the gray mushroom. It didn't look very heavy, yet it seemed to be weighing those people down.

Maybe he didn't pick it himself. He'll try it later.

It looked difficult to walk, but they kept going. It was amazing, as if they had found a path on their own. Although they picked mushrooms, they didn't step on a single one.

The old man's eyes revealed determination and helplessness, although he didn't know whether it was true or not. After all, Broll and the others had seen the creatures here. If something unexpected happened, he would have no place to appeal.

But the group of white-haired people are still moving forward, and the children are following silently, their eyes full of confusion about the future and longing for life.

The sunlight in the forest shines through the gaps in the leaves and casts mottled shadows on them. Their figures seem so small in this green world, but their existence is so real.

Ma Tuan didn't know what was going on, but he suddenly started to feel a lot of emotion. This place was really beautiful like a painting, making him feel unreal.

"What should we do? Should we go down?" Blore asked Bai Di.

Before Bai Di could figure it out, thick fog suddenly rose around him.

The world has changed.

"Let's go find them first." Bai Di jumped down, but found that the fog was so thick that he couldn't see anything, just like when he was in the museum.

Soon Blore touched his shoulder, and then Ma Tuan linked the three of them together.

"We look like zombies like this." Ma Tuan suddenly found it very funny.

"We were not far from them just now, almost in this direction." Bai Di didn't want to pay attention to him and just told him about his current arrangements.

The appearance of the white fog was strange. It appeared suddenly. No, it appeared after that group of people appeared.

"Bad news! I wondered why those people were bent over. It turns out that what was in there weren't mushrooms at all, but fragments of citizens!" Ma Tuan whispered in shock.

"I don't think so. Why are they fragments? And not individual pieces?" Blore tried to scare him.

But it didn't seem to scare him, instead it prompted him to think more deeply.

"I think what you said makes sense. Let's be careful now!" Ma Tuan still had a vine wrapped around his arm that looked like jade.

"All the mushrooms just now have disappeared. We have been walking for so long and haven't stepped on a single one." Bai Di suddenly spoke.

"I knew something was wrong. There was definitely something strange about those little black Buddha statues." Ma Tuan reacted quickly.

"I can't get out. I haven't walked for that long!" Bai Di suddenly stopped.

"Climb the tree." He quickly made another decision.

So the three of them grabbed the nearest tree and climbed up again.

The tree was so tall and branched so many times that it resembled an intricate maze. Blore struggled to climb, each step filled with challenges and dangers. As he climbed higher, the fog around him gradually thinned, the thick white mist dissipating and his vision becoming clearer.

When Blore finally reached a relatively high point, he was surprised to find that the fog had completely disappeared. From his perch, he could now overlook the entire forest. However, to his shock, he discovered that the forest below was shrouded in a thick, white mist, like a boundless sea of clouds. This mist permeated the trees, giving them a mysterious and eerie feeling.

The sun still shone, but strangely, it brought no warmth. Blore felt a chill well up inside him, causing him to shudder. Suddenly, he noticed something strange growing on the tree trunk. Upon closer inspection, he saw it was the small black Buddha statue that had just grown beneath the mushroom!
