Chapter 68 Fang Ruyue (Part 3)

Nansong walked cautiously to the round table and carefully observed the carvings on it. She found that the round table was covered with various strange patterns and symbols, which seemed to contain some deep meaning.

Nansong tried to understand the meaning of these patterns and symbols, but they were so complex that she couldn't decipher them immediately. She could only sigh that this monster could absorb human wisdom and superb skills to create such exquisite works of art, but what did this have to do with their mission?

At this moment, she noticed several screens beside the round table. These screens were painted with various animals, some fierce, some gentle, and each painting was lifelike, as if these animals would come alive at any time.

Nansong was captivated by these beautiful paintings. She approached one of the screens and took a closer look. She found the animals very vivid and the details very well handled.

Nansong couldn't help but reach out to touch the paintings, feeling their texture and temperature. At this moment, she felt a powerful force coming from the screen.

She withdrew her hand and frowned involuntarily.

"Let's sort it out. I think they should be here soon." Lu Nanyao pulled out a chair and sat down.

It was only then that Nan Song noticed that there was a transparent string tied to her hand. She looked down at her own hand and sure enough, there was one too. But why hadn't she noticed it before?

Nan Song drew his attention back, pulled out a chair and sat down.

"I remember one of the tasks was to find Zhang San's body and cremate it, but we don't seem to have done it yet." Nan Song suddenly remembered.

"We didn't encounter any of them there, so this shouldn't be completed by us." Lu Nanyao was very calm, "I think we are corresponding to the last task. Of course, the penultimate task is also involved."

"Ayue, can you tell me what this is?" A tall and handsome man suddenly appeared from nowhere, looking at the woman standing under the tree with an obsessed look.

"I don't know either." The girl just glanced at the book in his hand and then looked away.

The man just said "oh" softly, not really caring about her cold attitude. He opened the book again, but was very surprised to find that there was nothing in the book.

Fang Ruyue witnessed all his actions. She lowered her head and sighed softly, "This book seems a bit old, the cover is torn."

Seeing her like this, the man quickly promised that he would definitely get the book done. Then, the man asked, "Ayue, isn't Ahua back yet? I want to meet your parents."

Fang Ruyue had no expression on her face. She just stood under the flower tree, as if she was wearing a silver mask. All five layers of the mask faded away at once. Maybe only a few seconds had passed, but the two people on the tree felt that Fang Ruyue seemed to have undergone a complete transformation in these few seconds.

She raised her face, suddenly smiling like a flower, and gently took the man's hand.

"Brother Sheng, how about tomorrow? My parents also want to see you earlier. I have no choice. The rules cannot be broken." She gently shook the other person's hand.

"Okay, I got it. I want to marry you soon." Zhang Fusheng held the book tightly and let Fang Ruyue hold his hand.

"I suddenly remembered that Li Fuyuan said he wanted to look for me, so I have to go." He looked at Fang Ruyue with a little apology.

"It's okay." Fang Ruyue reluctantly let go of his hand, tenderness in her eyes.

But Bai Di and Jiu Yizhi, standing above, could clearly see her hair tumbling down her back like countless densely packed insects, gently wriggling behind her. The sight was terrifying. Yet, all this unfolded before their very eyes, leaving them filled with fear and confusion.

Zhang Fusheng left quickly, but something strange had happened to the hem of his clothes. His clean, tidy clothes were now covered in tiny black spots that hadn't been there before, as if eroded by some mysterious force.

When he turned around, the obsession in his eyes disappeared without a trace, replaced by a bottomless black between his eyebrows. This change made Zhang Fusheng look no longer like a normal person, but a presence full of strange aura.

Fang Ruyue just watched Zhang Fusheng's departing back quietly, her eyes revealing an indescribable complex emotion. She seemed to have a special feeling for this man, but it was also mixed with endless pain and helplessness.

At this moment, a man with fox eyes suddenly appeared in front of Fang Ruyue. He waved the fan in his hand, with a playful smile on his face, and walked slowly to Fang Ruyue's side.

"Hey, aren't you ready to leave yet?" the fox-eyed man teased, with a hint of frivolity in his tone.

Fang Ruyue ignored him and continued to stare at the direction where Zhang Fusheng left, as if thinking about something.

Seeing this, the fox-eyed man raised his lips slightly and continued, "Why? Can't bear to part with him?"

Hearing this, Fang Ruyue finally came to her senses, turned around and glared at the man with fox eyes.

"I know." Fang Ruyue suddenly said something without thinking.

The man with fox eyes was stunned when he heard this, then he chuckled and didn't say much.

After a moment's silence, the man with fox eyes suddenly said, "I don't think he will survive tonight, what do you think?" After that, he gently shook his fan and waited for Fang Ruyue's answer.

After hearing this, Fang Ruyue's face darkened and she responded coldly, "It's none of your business."

The fox-eyed man shrugged, smiled helplessly, and said, "Okay, okay, just don't forget the agreement between us." After that, he turned and left, leaving Fang Ruyue standing there alone, lost in thought.
