Chapter 13: Exciting New Discoveries and Reunions

"Hu... Hu... Hu..." The four of them were panting and running forward with all their might. Their footsteps stepped on the thick fallen leaves that piled up like mountains in the woods, but they took every step extremely carefully, for fear of accidentally stepping on the terrible giant reptile again.

"Ah, I really can't run anymore...you guys hurry up and go!" Ma Tuan said weakly, panting heavily.

"Come on! Ma Tuan, we're almost there!" Blore turned to comfort him, while still running hard while dragging the heavy chains.

Some of these chains were so long that they dragged on the ground. Under the sunlight, they sparkled with a faint golden glow. They looked to have a very complex texture. One of the chains was even engraved with intricate and exquisite patterns.

However, at this moment, no one had the heart to explore this mysterious treasure belonging to Blore. The other three people also ran very hard.

"There's no trace of Nanger now. Where do you think the golden fruit is hidden?" Nansong shouted weakly at Blore.

"I believe Sister Mu Yunchu will come to find us. She is very kind," Blore said firmly to Nansong.

"Oh, this idiot! It's already this time, and you still think she will help us." Nan Song gave up communicating with him.

"There seems to be no movement behind us." Bai Di, who was running in the front, slowly stopped and began to walk. Soon after, the other three also slowly stopped. Their tense nerves finally relaxed a little, but the tension and excitement of running away were hard to calm down.

"It seems like there's really nothing else, but do you recognize the animal just now?" Nan Song asked, her eyes wandering among her companions, trying to find an answer.

"Wow, if this kind of insect is not mentioned in the reference books, can we be the first to discover it?" Ma Tuan suddenly became excited, his eyes flashing with the light of discovering something new.

"Why are you the same as Blore? Oh, no, you are even more shameless than you," Nan Song gave him a fierce look, but a smile unconsciously appeared at the corner of his mouth.

Ma Tuan started chirping again, his voice full of drama. He always managed to bring some lightness and humor to the tense atmosphere. Everyone involuntarily relaxed.

"I've seen a similar insect before in the book "The Impact of Environmental Change on Forest Transformation" in my home library, but it should be bigger than the insect we see. The color of the insect in the book is closer to green, of course I don't deny that there are other colors." Bai Di rarely speaks such a long paragraph, but this time his words revealed a hint of scholarly rigor and seriousness, and were less cold and unkind.

"Okay, okay, since no one is chasing us, let's take a break first." As he said that, Nan Song walked towards a mangrove tree.

The four young men sat under the ancient tree, their expressions were both excited and nervous. Not only had they just experienced an earth-shaking adventure, but they also made an exciting discovery.

Ma Tuan and Nan Song began to discuss the amazing discovery they had just made, with curiosity and excitement flashing in their eyes.

After a heated discussion, the two finally decided to record this wonderful experience in detail for their team, because they realized that this might become an important contribution they made to the scientific community!

At this moment, their hearts were filled with anticipation. Perhaps, thanks to this discovery, their group, Group Z, could surpass the four-member team in Group A, the one their annoying instructor valued the most.

The so-called "Ace of the Academy" team has always been outrageously favored by instructor Ils. He praised Group A as "like a lonely shadow under the moon, cold and independent; its talent is as bright as the stars, proud as a pine tree, cold as ice, but its abilities are so outstanding that one cannot help but admire it."

Their Group Z was often belittled by their mentor, Ils, and was even nicknamed by that villain as "the bottom-ranked team that only drags the team down and brings bad luck to anyone it helps."

Thinking of this, except for Blore who was still confused and didn't understand why his friends were so excited, Nansong, Bai Di and Ma Tuan could not hide their joy.

Although Ma Tuan was wearing a mask, his slightly trembling body revealed his inner excitement. Nan Song couldn't help but smile, his lips curling up almost uncontrollably. Even Bai Di, usually as calm as a mountain and unwavering in the face of any situation, now showed a hint of anticipation.

Nan Song then took out his notebook and began describing the insects' characteristics in detail: They were nearly the size of three ancient trees, and their bodies were a strange, dark red, like demons crawling from the depths of hell. Furthermore, their appearance was strange, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, leaving one baffled. Nan Song couldn't help but speculate that these insects might have some mysterious connection to the ancient tree's fruit.

"Okay, okay, okay, we have serious things to do. Let's go, let's go!" Nan Song shouted vigorously, wishing he could pick the fruits immediately, save the villagers, and then complete the task given to them by their mentor - collect three boxes of purple ice blue crystals, and study whether the diseases contracted by the villagers can be cured.

"Although there have been some deviations in the mission so far, I still feel that the future is bright!" Ma Tuan said with emotion as he stood up.

However, before Nan Song could laugh at him, Bai Di suddenly interrupted and said, "That's right, I don't know who insisted that I would have a bad premonition!"

"Haven't we encountered enough things along the way? What else do you want to experience?" Ma Tuan felt that he was very wronged.
