Chapter 107 Bai Di's Choice

Lou Xun stood aside and didn't say anything, just nodded slightly. He understood what he meant, and he thought that maybe he would fulfill the old man's wish.

Suddenly, the old man's eyes flicked towards Lou Xun, and in an instant, he seemed to have made a decision. He slowly sat up, his dragon robe swaying. Lou Xun wanted to help him, but the old man waved his hand and then looked off into the distance, as if searching for something.

Lou Xun knew that he couldn't bear to part with Bai Di, he also knew that the emperor understood that his time was up, he also knew... he also knew that the emperor didn't trust him, but he believed that he would never betray or hurt Bai Di.

After a moment, the old man slowly turned around, a strange look in his eyes. He slowly walked to a corner of the palace and sat down with Lou Xun. His eyes narrowed slightly, a lucidity shone through them. His lips trembled slightly, as if he were saying something.

Lou Xun quietly gazed at the once-mighty emperor before him, a wave of emotion welling up in his heart. Time is merciless, taking away everything, including a person's life and strength. But even so, the old man still exuded a sense of majesty and wisdom, as if his former glory had never left him.

"I..." the old man whispered softly, his voice low and hoarse, a hint of fatigue. "I have fought countless battles throughout my life, protecting this land, all for the people to live and work in peace and for the country to prosper." His eyes grew distant, as if he had stepped back into the past, recalling those magnificent battle scenes.

Lou Xun listened silently, sensing the emperor's deep loneliness and helplessness. As a minister, he understood the weight of his responsibility, the fate of the nation shaped by every decision. Now, with the emperor's impending death, his heart must be filled with worry and anxiety about the future.

Slowly, the emperor pulled a letter from his bosom, but instead of handing it to Lou Xun, his gaze suddenly sharpened, revealing the pressure that only a superior could muster. He had been emperor his entire life, and now, finally, he had made his final move.

After handing it to Lou Xun, he simply said, "Perhaps you will find the answers to everything you are looking for and wish to know in this letter. I hope you can keep your promise and do as I write in this letter."

After saying this, he walked towards the tightly veiled space at the back. This space seemed mysterious and solemn, with curtains hung all around, crude in style but exquisitely crafted, like an ancient and mysterious painting. In the candlelight, these curtains shimmered faintly, giving people a sense of illusion and unreality.

In this space where light and shadow interweave, a square rectangular object seems to be hidden, exuding a special atmosphere. It is like a silent monument, quietly waiting for the moment when the mystery is unveiled.

The old emperor slowly walked into the space, his steps heavy and slow, as if each step carried endless pressure and responsibility. His eyes were fixed on the rectangular object, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes.

He approached the pure black coffin and touched it. Its surface was as smooth as a mirror, without a single flaw. However, a closer look revealed that it wasn't simply black, but a deep, mysterious color that seemed to hold the power of the stars. In the darkness, these stars flickered, creating a dreamlike experience.

The coffin is seamless, seemingly formed by nature. A closer look reveals intricate carvings depicting the land, mountains, and topography of their country. The flowing, natural lines create a lifelike effect that truly captivates the craftsmen.

As the old man gently sat down on the black coffin, carved with a map of mountains and rivers, the air around him seemed to freeze. Every sound and movement was amplified. The curtain began to slowly float, like a soft veil, gently brushing past. It was as if time had stood still at that moment. The man and the coffin gradually transformed into dark blue porcelain, floating in the air, like a dream, giving people a feeling of transcendence.

Under the cover of the curtain, the old man's figure gradually became blurred and finally disappeared, leaving only the black coffin quietly emitting a mysterious atmosphere, as if telling an unknown story.

As the dark blue porcelain dispersed, the surrounding environment subtly shifted. The gloomy space gradually brightened, and a brilliant light emanated from the black coffin, illuminating the entire area. At the center of the light, a mysterious portal appeared, shimmering with a strange light, seemingly leading to another world.

At this moment, a breeze blew in from nowhere, carrying a faint fragrance of flowers, making people feel relaxed and happy. This breeze was like a messenger of nature, bringing vitality and energy.

As a gentle breeze blew from nowhere, the extravagant scene around them began to transform. The original darkness gradually dissipated, replaced by a beautiful scene. An old man's voice seemed to be heard on the wind: "Go, find your answer..."

Lou Xun heard it, but he stood there without making any extra movements, because strangely enough, the moment the door appeared, he had a very familiar feeling.

He was the only one who read the contents of the letter. There were a lot of things in it, but the most important ones were just a few points.

There are two points that impressed me the most.

The other party seemed to have anticipated that Bai Di would never follow the path they had planned for him.

Bai Di has always had his own ideas and he has always been a man with his own opinions.
