Chapter 106 I Don't Want You to Be Sad "When will you and Zhu Yan..."

Chapter 106 I Don't Want You to Be Sad "When will you and Zhu Yan..."

"When did you become so stingy, Zhu Yanhe, not even giving me a single bite of food?" Xie Yuchen leisurely propped up her legs, squinting her eyes and smiling like a fox.

Zhu Yanhe glanced at him indifferently, then suddenly remembered something and changed her mind: "Okay."

Xie Yuchen was a little surprised but didn't think much of it, assuming that Zhu Yanhe didn't care that much about it.

Ning Buyi came to the hospital right after get off work at noon. When he opened the door with his lunch, the two of them were doing their own things.

"Huh? There's someone else here."

The ward was heated, and Ning Buyi entered with a chill in his body. He carefully lifted both hands and pressed his back against the door as he closed it.

Zhu Yanhe got up and walked over, taking the bag from his hand: "He said he'd stay for a meal before leaving."

What!

He blinked rapidly, glanced at Zhu Yanhe, then looked down at the food he had bought. What did this mean? Why didn't he say he wanted to eat earlier? He bought food for himself and Zhu Yanhe, but it was food he really, really wanted to eat.

Can he eat Zhu Yanhe's food?

Ning Buyi asked in a low voice, "Do I have to give it to him? Can't he go buy it himself?"

Zhu Yanhe: "Yeah, he doesn't want to go back to eat, let alone buy it himself."

He stared at the lunchbox in his hand, pursing his lips. "Ugh, how can this person be so greedy?" The boy's eyes widened, looking aggrieved. "If I give it to him, what will I eat?"

Zhu Yanhe smiled and said, "Give it to him first, and I'll have someone bring it over after he leaves."

"Then why don't you have someone deliver it now?" He clutched his own bag tightly, unwilling to let go.

Xie Yuchen didn't understand what the two were whispering about at the door. He propped his head up and asked, "What are you talking about?"

And you're still urging him!

Zhu Yanhe explained that it would take another half hour for the food to arrive, and asked him to see the guests off first. Ning Buyi stared down at the lunchbox, which contained the dishes he had carefully selected and the perfect meal that he had asked the auntie serving the food to give him two extra pieces of meat.

All right!

He reluctantly gave in: "Then I want to eat spicy hot pot, I want to eat the one outside the internet cafe."

Zhu Yanhe smiled, her eyes crinkling, and took the porridge from his hand: "Okay."

That's more like it! He carried his lunchbox toward the man on the sofa. This was the bastard who stole his job. He slammed the lunchbox down on the coffee table and said with a pout, "Here you go!"

Xie Yuchen smiled, and Ning Buyi's sullen face was also quite cute. She didn't realize that Ning Buyi was petty despite his small stinginess.

Ning Buyi walked over to Zhu Yanhe's side, glancing back every few steps. Xie Yuchen raised an eyebrow, reached out and opened the plastic bag. To be honest, he had never eaten such simple food before.

The boy sat on the edge of the bed, holding a bowl of porridge to feed him, but his eyes were fixed on Xie Yuchen. This person was so annoying. Zhu Yanhe never took his food.

Ning Buyi's gaze was so intense that Xie Yuchen paused in his actions and asked, "What's wrong?"

The boy turned his head: "Can I say I hate him?"

Zhu Yan nodded slightly; wasn't this exactly what he wanted?

The boy, having received permission, turned back and said, "I hate you!"

Like a puppy that has been given permission by its owner to bite, Xie Yuchen's eyes flashed with confusion before he realized why Zhu Yanhe had suddenly let him eat here.

So Ning Buyi's protectiveness of food is indeed a trick that's hard to guard against. Xie Yuchen thought Zhu Yanhe was a fool, but in reality, she had already fallen into the man's trap.

Zhu Yanhe reached out and turned his face towards her. She thought it would have been better to just send him away. Ning Buyi kept staring at other people, which annoyed her.

"I'm hungry, Ning Buyi."

He then turned his gaze back, scooping porridge from the bowl to feed Zhu Yanhe, not forgetting to sneak a sip for himself first. Xie Yuchen, watching their sweet nothings, also found it boring; this guy was hard to steal.

"I'm leaving now." Xie Yuchen clapped his hands, stood up, and took the lunchbox with him. Ning Buyi's gaze followed the lunchbox until the man's figure disappeared through the door.

He couldn't even smell it!

"How could he be so greedy! He took my food and left!" Ning Buyi pouted, feeling wronged that his beloved food had been snatched away, so he drank a few more mouthfuls of Zhu Yanhe's porridge.

"Hmm, how annoying he is." On the other hand, Zhu Yanhe was in a good mood, and his aggrieved look was so soft and tender that it felt like stepping on a man's heart.

The boy looked aggrieved but didn't stop talking, stuffing two mouthfuls into his own mouth before giving Zhu Yanhe a mouthful: "Will he come every day from now on?"

If he comes, he'll have to buy an extra meal; he has to protect his livelihood.

"No." Zhu Yanhe reached out and wiped away a little bit of juice that had splashed onto the corner of his mouth. After all, Zhu Yanhe had already achieved his goal.

Ning Buyi took a nap at the hospital during his lunch break. Zhu Yan woke him up just before he was supposed to start work in the afternoon. When he went to the president's office in the afternoon, Zhu Guanghai was reviewing documents.

He went in carrying his schoolbag. Zhu Guanghai just glanced up at him without saying anything. Only after Ning Buyi sat down and laid out his homework did Zhu Guanghai ask, "Where did you go at noon?"

Ning Buyi usually sleeps in the office at noon, but today when he passed by, he didn't see a soul. The brat is so young and already running around like this.

Ning Buyi: "I went to the hospital at noon."

"Are you sick?" Zhu Guanghai looked him up and down and asked.

Only after Old Man Zhu asked him did he tell him about Zhu Yanhe. Zhu Guanghai didn't say anything after hearing it, but just took a few deep breaths and quietly looked at Ning Buyi a few times.

He often couldn't understand what kind of feelings and blessings two people had to be so persistent. He didn't believe that humans were creatures of lasting affection, and he also felt that the word "love" didn't apply to relationships between men.

In his eyes, the two of them were completely mismatched, like a bird and a fish—how could they possibly be together? Zhu Guanghai's stubborn temper had softened a bit after being worn down for so long; he knew that a forceful approach would only make them hold hands tighter.

Looks like we need to come up with some ideas.

That day, the president's office worked an extra half hour, and Ning Buyi was also in there. He had a top-secret plan waiting to be implemented today. Today was the winter solstice, and Zhu Yanhe could now eat normal food, so he was going to make dumplings with the aunt!

Ning Buyi had just gotten home from get off work when Zhu Yanhe called to ask why he hadn't come over. Ning Buyi casually brushed it off; this was a surprise for him, and Zhu Yanhe couldn't know.

The aunt had already prepared everything and was just waiting for Ning Buyi to come back so they could do it together. She was supposed to be resting these past few days, but yesterday Ningning suddenly called her saying she wanted to learn how to make dumplings, so she rushed over right away.

The auntie moved with practiced ease, knowing full well the answer, and asked, "Ningning, who are you making dumplings for?"

"I'm giving this to Zhu Yanhe. They say that eating dumplings on the Winter Solstice will bring peace and safety next year." Ning watched the dumpling-making process intently, her hands following along.

The aunt chuckled twice: "Oh, Ningning really likes Mr. Zhu."

He pursed his lips, lowered his eyes, and focused intently on making dumplings. The tips of his ears were already bright red. He hadn't even reached his full potential yet!

On his way to the hospital carrying dumplings, Ning Buyi kept thinking about what Zhu Yanhe would think of the dumplings he had made. He was sure Zhu Yanhe would kiss him and praise him.

When he walked briskly to the door of the ward, he found that there was someone else inside. Ning Buyi peeked through the window and saw that it was Old Man Zhu.

The ward wasn't very soundproof, and all the sounds inside could be heard. Ning Buyi paused in his hand as he opened the door, and Zhu Guanghai's voice was full of energy: "If he gives up on him, he won't have to put up with these people's attitudes!"

Give up...what?

Zhu Yanhe said in a calm but firm tone, "Thank you for your concern. I will not give up on Ning Buyi."

Ning Buyi stood blankly against the door, listening to their conversation. He pieced together a few details. He heard Old Man Zhu say something about leaving the company for his own sake, so Zhu Yanhe's departure from the company wasn't due to Old Man Zhu squeezing him out.

It was because of him that Zhu Yanhe had no choice but to leave.

Ning Buyi felt inexplicably choked up. Was he always trying to harm Zhu Yanhe?

The boy stood frozen at the door, lost in thought. The person inside, panting heavily, scolded him twice before opening the ward door, coming face to face with Ning Buyi standing at the door.

Zhu Guanghai didn't linger, not even glancing at Ning Buyi before walking out, followed by two bodyguards. Zhu Yanhe saw the figures at the door from the side, immediately sat up, and pulled the person standing outside inside.

Why are you so late?

"There's a bit of traffic on the road." Ning Buyi kept his head down the whole time, as if he had secretly done something wrong.

Zhu Yanhe took the insulated bag from the hand, and was about to speak when the boy interrupted him: "Zhu Yanhe, did you leave the company because of me?"

He stiffened his neck, his face stubborn as if he had made up his mind about something.

Zhu Yanhe paused for a moment and said, "No, that doesn't count."

He was never doing it for Ning Buyi; he was only doing it for himself. It was all what he wanted to do, to stay by Ning Buyi's side as his lover, and it had nothing to do with the boy in front of him.

"But if it weren't for me, you wouldn't have ended up in the hospital, you wouldn't be drinking, and you wouldn't know how to read people's faces." He brought up old grievances, speaking in increasingly lower voices, admitting all his mistakes on his own.

Ning Buyi looked humble, and the boy he cherished still felt insecure around him, which is why he took the initiative to shoulder all the blame.

Zhu Yanhe felt a pang of heartache as he listened. He pulled her into his arms and gently coaxed her, "Without you, Zhu Yanhe would be all alone, going to work and coming home every day for the rest of her life. It seems Ning Buyi is really heartless."

"No, I don't. But, but Zhu Yanhe, I don't want to leave you, and I don't want you to be sad." Ning Buyi's eyes were red, wide open like a little deer's, and his straightforward words were like a confession, carrying an indelible charm of sincerity.

Zhu Yanhe kissed the boy's lips, his gaze softening, and he chuckled softly, "Ning Buyi, kiss me."

He didn't think sweet talk was a necessary skill for dating; it was just that when he was facing Ning Buyi, these words came out of his mouth naturally.

"Why are you doing this all of a sudden?" Ning Buyi didn't understand, but he still did as he was told. The boy clutched the fabric on the man's chest tightly in his hand, lowered his head and pressed his lips to his.

So good.

Zhu Yanhe sniffed his neck, her hand slipping under his clothes, her waist gripped by a pair of large hands that caressed his fair skin wantonly: "It's because I don't love you enough, giving you time to overthink things."

At first, Ning Buyi didn't understand what it meant, but after being lightly patted on the buttocks twice, he understood. His cheeks gradually turned from white to red, and he rubbed against her impatiently, saying, "Zhu Yanhe, I want it."

The man's breathing quickened, and he said with restraint, "No."

He looked at me with innocent eyes: "Didn't you say you loved me?"
