Chapter 87 The Bad Old Man (This episode isn't that bad) "Come this afternoon..."

"I'll pick you up this afternoon." He said this and stood still. Ning Buyi blinked quickly and asked in confusion, "Why aren't you leaving?"

"Come here." Zhu Yanhe beckoned to him.

Ning Buyi, not understanding what was going on, slid across in a few steps. He ran so fast that he had to grab the hem of Ning Buyi's clothes to steady himself at the finish line.

"what?"

Zhu Yanhe put one arm around his waist and pinched his chin with the other. The two of them were so skilled at this move that they couldn't be more familiar with it. Ning Buyi was staring straight at him, a faint expectation rising in her heart.

It's a kiss!

As Zhu Yanhe wished, he lowered his head and lightly kissed the corner of Ning Buyi's lips, which made Ning Buyi frown. Why was it always on the edge? It wasn't comfortable!

He pointed to his lips: "Kiss here."

Zhu Yanhe chuckled. Ning Buyi always spoke his mind so frankly, which Zhu Yanhe found incredibly endearing. He stopped what he was doing and suddenly asked, "Bonus points?"

Ning Buyi stared blankly at him. This man was practically taking advantage of a disaster! Stealing charcoal in the snow! He had no obligation to give him extra points!

Ning Buyi had no intention of letting Zhu Yanhe have his way. He stood on tiptoe to kiss him, but the man dodged him. Even a cornered dog will jump over a wall, and a cornered rabbit will bite. Enraged, Ning Buyi grabbed the hand that was holding his chin and bit him.

It wasn't light; it held on tightly and wouldn't let go, like a puppy guarding its food.

Zhu Yanhe didn't say anything, but he loosened his grip on Ning Buyi's waist, followed by a muffled thud as a slap landed on Ning Buyi's buttocks.

The strength to break someone's bones is still there even if the force is reduced.

Shame and a slight pain made Ning Buyi immediately let go, clutching her buttocks and glaring at him: "You, you, you, points deducted!"

Zhu Yanhe smiled and bent down, leaning forward a little: "Can we kiss without losing points?"

Before Ning Buyi could even process what was happening, his lips were already pressed against his. The boy lowered his eyelashes to look at him, and Zhu Yan's high nose bridge brushed against his skin. It wasn't impossible not to feel a little embarrassed.

"Wait for me at home." Zhu Yanhe kissed his cheek, ending the brief intimacy. Ning Buyi stood there, stunned, watching the person in front of him leave. His hand unconsciously touched his cheek, which was still a little hot.

Zhu Yanhe went straight to the parking lot after going downstairs. In the past, the driver would drive him, but ever since he met Ning Buyi offline, he has driven himself to and from get off work most of the time.

A discreet black car, hidden among the other vehicles, watched as the sports car with the hood ornament drove away from the dimly lit basement.

At the same time, the door, which had just been closed, rang again. Ning Buyi muttered as he walked, wondering why Zhu Yanhe didn't open the door himself. Was Zhu Yanhe so stupid that he forgot the password? Actually, his footsteps were quite light.

The doorbell kept ringing. Ning Buyi grabbed the doorknob and pulled the door open. As soon as the security door opened, his feet seemed to be nailed to the spot. Ning Buyi's first thought at that moment was to close the door.

That's exactly what he did. With a quick movement, just as the door was about to close, a scepter reached in and blocked the door, leaving a gap.

The person standing behind the door was none other than Zhu Guanghai. This time, he had no bodyguards behind him. The middle-aged man's eyebrows were always furrowed, and he had no expression but exuded an imposing presence.

"Is this how you treat your elders?!"

"I won't open it! I don't know you! I can't let a stranger into my house." Ning Buyi stood against the door and refused to open it. This wicked old man had always been mean to him and had never given him a kind look. Who knew what kind of mischief he was up to this time?

"I'm your father-in-law! Aren't you going to open the door for me?!" Zhu Guanghai couldn't pull out his stick or get in, so he stomped his foot in anger, his leather shoes making a loud thud on the tiles. He refused to believe that he couldn't open the door!

"What father-in-law?" Ning Buyi peeked out with his round eyes, staring at the person outside, but his grip on the door didn't loosen at all.

“I am Zhu Yan and his father. If you want to be with my son, then I am your father-in-law, aren’t I?” Zhu Guanghai cleared his throat, and when he saw the face appear, his tone softened.

Ning Buyi nodded with an "Oh," and said, "I see. But since I'm not with Zhu Yanhe, I still can't let you in!"

Who knows what evil is brewing in that wicked old man's heart! Don't even think about openly bullying Ning Buyi.

Zhu Guanghai took a deep breath, silently telling himself not to get angry, and thinking about his purpose. For once, he calmed down and changed his usual irritability: "Then can I be your future father-in-law? Good boy, I'm not here to blame you this time."

Zhu Guanghai spoke with such sincerity that Ning Buyi blinked, half-believing, half-doubting: "Really?"

“It’s absolutely true. I could tell you were a good kid at first glance. I was wrong before.” Zhu Guanghai straightened up a bit as he spoke, his tone righteous and indignant.

Ning Buyi's eyes darted around, then narrowed into a smile. A dark undercurrent seemed to rise from somewhere, and he held out a hand: "Pinky promise."

Zhu Guanghai was stunned for a moment, then quickly smiled and reached out his hand to cooperate with the naive boy in front of him. The two of them, each with their own ulterior motives, were doing the most innocent thing.

Ning Buyi instructed, "You repeat after me, 'Pinky promise, never to change for a hundred years.'"

Zhu Guanghai also recited along, his slightly aged yet resonant voice blending with the boy's clear voice, making them seem like a pair of close friends despite their age difference.

Ning Buyi looked at him slyly, like a child about to do something naughty: "Pinky promise, never to change for a hundred years, or you're not allowed to care about Zhu Yanhe and Sister Zhu Zhu anymore!"

Zhu Guanghai glared at him, knowing he was being waited for! The usually serious old man suddenly became childlike again: "You're cheating, it doesn't count!"

"No way, we've already followed the rules! If you don't admit it, then don't come in!" Ning Buyi stuck out his tongue, his face full of smugness, completely admiring his own intelligence.

Zhu Guanghai waved his hand, too lazy to argue with the child: "Fine, fine, fine!"

Ning Buyi let go of the door, and there were several marks on the scepter that had been stuck in the door frame. He walked straight in and sat down at the dining table, not knowing what the old man was going to do. What if he was going to hit him?

Zhu Guanghai sighed. He was finally inside. He looked around and realized that the room was pitifully small. When the butler sent him a message, he wondered why Zhu Yanhe would buy an apartment here. It wasn't that he hadn't thought about it, but he remembered that the spies said the two had broken up.

He came over today to find out what was going on, and it turned out they were keeping a mistress. Zhu Guanghai naturally assumed that the two were doing this to avoid him. He couldn't understand whether their relationship was that deep.

His gaze swept around the room before settling on the boy. His handsome face alternated between frowning and laughing. Zhu Guanghai couldn't bear to look at him; he suspected that Ning Buyi might be a little silly.

"How long have you been together?" Zhu Guanghai sat down next to him with an air of authority, his scepter resting between his legs.

“We’re not together.” Ning Buyi frowned. He had already said no, no, why didn’t they believe him?

Zhu Guanghai narrowed his eyes slightly and changed his approach: "So how long have you been staying here?"

Ning Buyi obediently counted on his fingers and replied, "It's been half a month."

Zhu Guanghai thought to himself, "So she's been secretly hiding from me." He glanced around and his tone became serious: "Zhu Yanhe lets you live in a place like this and you're still with him?"

Hard tactics were no longer effective against them, so Zhu Guanghai decided to use a combination of soft and hard approaches, determined to break them apart.

"I've already said we're not together, why do you keep saying it!" Ning Buyi didn't understand. He hadn't agreed to Zhu Yanhe's request, so why did Old Man Zhu keep saying this? "Besides, this is the place I rented!"

Zhu Guanghai waved his hand in agreement: "Okay, okay, then if you two are together in the future, can you tolerate living in such a small house?"

If Ning Buyi were someone who coveted his son's money, he certainly wouldn't be able to tolerate it; there wouldn't be a single good piece of land to be found here.

"Why not? I'm living here right now." Ning Buyi tilted his head and asked him. Old Man Zhu always asked strange questions. He was clearly living this kind of life right now, so why did Old Man Zhu always seem to think that he couldn't stand it? He had lived in places much worse than this before!

Zhu Guanghai tapped the ground with his scepter and pressed, "What if Zhu Yanhe runs out of money and can't even support himself? Would you still be willing to stay with him?"

"How pitiful! But what can I do? I like Zhu Yanhe. I'll take care of him. Old Master Zhu, you can rest assured and leave him to me!" Ning Buyi answered without the slightest hesitation. He moved his stool forward, patted his chest, and looked righteous.

It's just a matter of raising Zhu Yanhe, a piece of cake!

The middle-aged man's lips twitched at the mention of "Old Man Zhu." He quite liked the nickname. Although Ning Buyi answered with a sincere expression, he was momentarily tempted, but he didn't forget the important matter: "Kid, to tell you the truth, Zhu Yanhe actually has someone he likes."

“I know who it is.” Ning Buyi blinked rapidly, a smile playing on his lips.

"You know?" Zhu Guanghai leaned back slightly and added, "That person is a head shorter than Zhu Yanhe."

Ning Buyi's eyes lit up as he stared at the person: "That's right, it's me!"

Zhu Guanghai chuckled twice upon hearing this, then ignored him and continued, "That person is quite a bit younger than Zhu Yanhe."

"That's right, it's me!"

Zhu Guanghai added, "That person went abroad and just came back."

"That's right! No, it's not me!" Ning Buyi answered enthusiastically, only to realize that his answer seemed a little off. What! Zhu Yanhe has someone he likes, and it's not him!

Zhu Guanghai laughed loudly twice, inwardly marveling at his own wisdom. Teasing someone was quite fun. He comforted Ning Buyi, saying, "Hey, it's alright, good boy. But when it comes to relationships, there's a question of compatibility. Since ancient times, it's always been men paired with women."

"I don't believe it! Uncle Zhu, didn't you say you were my father-in-law? Why are you siding with reason instead of your own family? You're not nice at all."

When Old Man Zhu was at the door, that was still his father-in-law. How come he's now siding with reason instead of family?

Ning Buyi picked up his phone and began questioning Zhu Yanhe. He didn't believe Zhu Yanhe didn't like him, and he wouldn't allow it!

"Hey, what are you saying? How am I siding with reason instead of family? What can you possibly get by calling?" His hand, which was holding the phone, was pressed down by the scepter. Ning Buyi looked at the old man opposite him with a puzzled expression. "You don't believe me just because I have no proof. Here's what I'll do: I'll take you to see for yourself tomorrow."

Ning Buyi pursed his lips, his eyes fixed on the screen. He still couldn't believe it. Zhu Yanhe had gone through all that, how could he possibly like someone else? Old Man Zhu was clearly still a bad old man!

After saying that, Zhu Guanghai left. His steps were much lighter as he stepped out the door, and he even started dancing the steps commonly seen in squares. This trick of using someone else to do his dirty work was brilliant. In fact, it was all made up by him. Others wouldn't believe it, but Ning Buyi definitely would. That kid is so stupid.

Wonderful!

The author's note: Every time Ning Buyi angers Zhu Yanhe, his buttocks get a beating, depending on the severity of the anger—either by pulling down his pants or by putting them on. If Ning Buyi really does something bad, Zhu Yanhe will slap his buttocks until they're swollen, and Ning Buyi can only stubbornly bite his lip with tears in his eyes, because Zhu Yanhe is a dog who doesn't keep his word!
