Chapter 23 Unlucky Guy

"Mother, you actually hid a silver hairpin?" He had never heard his mother mention this before, nor had he ever seen such a thing in the house.

The key point is that she was so obedient to Lin Wanyue's words!

"What, you're trying to steal my dowry?" Old Mrs. Du glared at her son.

"That's not what I meant..." He was just expressing his shock.

"No need."

This family was so poor that Lin Wanyue had no choice but to use the simplest method.

They had Old Lady Du light a fire at the entrance of their house, and then had everyone in the family step over the fire to restore their positive energy.

For others, this is simple; it's just a matter of stepping over a fire pit.

But for Du Fan, who has a limp, it's not so simple.

"Mother...why don't you and I help my husband across?" Du Fan's wife said timidly.

Grandma Du wanted to get the whole family out of this unfortunate situation, so she and her daughter-in-law, whom she always disliked, helped Du Fan walk across the fire pit.

"If we could carve a peach wood sword and hang it from the roof beam, then when that unlucky fellow comes again, we could cut off his head," Lin Zhongyuan said very seriously.

Lin Wanyue nodded in approval.

The original owner didn't start speaking until she was two and a half years old, so her speech wasn't as clear as her older brothers', and Grandma Du and the others often couldn't understand what she said.

"Thank you so much, little deity, for saving my family. Otherwise, all four of us would have been tormented to death by that damned ghost." Old Mrs. Du was so grateful that tears almost fell. She rubbed her hands together and said with great shame, "It's just that my family was ruined by that unlucky ghost and we have nothing left. We really don't have anything good to offer you."

"From now on, don't scold Yin anymore," Lin Wanyue said.

"Yes, yes!" Old Mrs. Du quickly agreed, "Don't worry, I'll never say those nonsense again, and I'll definitely not let that unlucky guy come back to my house."
