This bird droppings came so suddenly.
Lin Weiming stared in surprise at the top of the pharmacy owner's head.
"Ah, this dead bird..." The shopkeeper quickly realized what was happening and tried to shake the bird droppings off his head.
Lin Weiming quickly hugged Lin Wanyue, not wanting her to be caught in the crossfire.
Laifu followed behind the pharmacy owner, laughing heartily. With its laughter, a black shadow drifted over the pharmacy owner.
"You still say you're not lying!" Lin Wanyue said, seizing the opportunity.
"Hmph, who would I lie to? This ginseng is worth fifteen taels of silver, that's already me being merciful!" The pharmacy owner didn't think too much about it and stubbornly insisted despite the bird droppings.
He would never be manipulated by a little girl who's only two or three years old!
The pharmacy owner shook his head, but instead of getting rid of the bird droppings, his head bumped into the medicine cabinet behind him. He tried to steady himself, but his foot got caught on a nail underneath, causing him to lose his balance and fall heavily to the ground.
"Ouch...it hurts so much!" The pharmacy owner struggled to get up, his hand cut again by the nail that had somehow appeared.
The other employees in the pharmacy hid to the side when they saw this, not daring to approach.
She especially dared not look at Lin Wanyue, who was being held in Lin Weiming's arms.
Who knew that a little girl's words would actually come true?
Lin Wanyue proudly raised her chin.
She secretly gave Laifu a look, and Laifu reluctantly put his mask back on.
"I didn't lie to you, did I?" Lin Wanyue stretched out her finger and drew a line in the air as if she were winding a thread.
The pharmacy owner, thinking he was about to suffer another loss, quickly admitted defeat: "No, no! Young lady, you're absolutely right. We'll take this... we'll give you one hundred taels."
Lin Weiming stood there, stunned.
This time, he watched helplessly as his daughter unleashed her fury, and it was incredibly powerful.
It made him, as a father, feel both proud and a little scared.
Seeing the boss revise the price, Lin Weiming tentatively asked, "Boss, you're not lying this time, are you?"
"No, no, I really wouldn't dare." The pharmacy owner shook his head repeatedly and asked his assistant to bring him a white cloth to cover his injured hand.
"Young man, I really won't lie to you this time... This ginseng can only sell for this price at most in our county. We're already not making a profit at this price. If you still think it's not enough, you can go to the provincial capital. The price there might be higher, maybe twenty or thirty taels more, but we really can't afford it here!" The pharmacy owner said with a bitter face.
He's not thinking about making money anymore, but he can't do business at a loss either.
Lin Weiming didn't speak, but looked at the daughter he was holding in his arms.
"Yes!" Lin Wanyue nodded.
This price is about the same as what Lai Fu mentioned earlier.
One hundred taels?!
Lin Weiming held his daughter in his arms, feeling a heavy weight in his embrace.
His family has four sons. Even if they work hard in the fields all year round, if they don't owe any money when they do the year-end accounting, it's already a blessing from their father.
And now, he actually has one hundred taels of silver!
Lin Weiming was feeling dizzy and almost tripped over the threshold when he walked out of the pharmacy.
"Daughter, are you still hungry? Do you want to eat the rice cake again? Daddy will go buy you a crabapple cake!" Lin Weiming grinned.
"Father, we need to buy cloth and paper for Mother, as well as needles and thread, and paper and pens for the big pot." Lin Wanyue hugged Lin Weiming's neck and nodded, counting on her fingers for him.
Lin Zhongyuan lacked more than just writing pens. Apart from the two books with torn pages, Lin Wanyue had never seen him have any other writing implements.
If it weren't for the fact that it wasn't convenient to take things out of her villa, she would have liked to take out a few books for her older brother to read.
But the fruits and eggs are easy to explain, but those books, which are obviously different from this era, she can't possibly say that they fell from the sky, can she?
"Of course, of course! Wanwan is so thoughtful. Now that we have so much money, we should definitely buy more things to take back." Lin Weiming readily agreed.
Although he had suddenly become rich, Lin Weiming was still very stingy when it came to spending money.
She took out twenty copper coins and bought rice cake and crabapple cake. Lin Wanyue ate the crabapple cake and rice cake with relish.
The small shop owner selling pastries was all smiles. He never expected that these two people from the countryside would actually come back to buy his pastries.
Lin Weiming carried Lin Wanyue on his back and toured the entire small county town. First, they paid the taxes, and then they went to a silk shop and bought a lot of cheap fabric, enough to make two new outfits for the whole family.
"Boss, weigh me two jin of meat! I want more fat." Lin Weiming walked up to the butcher shop and pointed to the best fatty meat.
Lin Wanyue looked at the white, fatty meat and felt her mouth water. She wiped the non-existent drool from the corner of her mouth and decided that she must get some seasonings from her space when she got back!
Ask Grandma to make her braised pork!
Lin Weiming bought two jin of meat and some offal. This stuff wasn't expensive, but it was still considered meat, much cheaper than regular meat, though it was troublesome to prepare.
But Xuefu is very skillful, and she can always make delicious-smelling offal from the game that her family can't sell.
...
It gradually got dark.
Mosquitoes buzzed around Lin Wanyue in the grass.
She suspects the original owner of this body was blood type O.
Lin Wanyue scratched her head and then her face, feeling incredibly itchy all over. She hoped the mosquitoes would stop giving her more mosquito bites!
"Father, aren't we going home yet?" Lin Wanyue could see torches lit by some houses in the village through the grass.
