Chapter 99 The Little Girl Even Yama Can't See Through

The living and the dead are separated, and the underworld is ultimately not a place where the living soul should linger.

Judge Lu and Lin Wanyue reached an agreement. They picked out a few strange-looking snacks to keep. After thinking for a moment, Judge Lu instructed Lin Wanyue, "Although you have some minor magical abilities, enough to get by in the human world, you shouldn't accept just any ghost, especially vengeful ghosts. You need to be careful."

"Thank you, Da Yin, I'll remember it!" Lin Wanyue patted her head, indicating that she had memorized all of Judge Lu's instructions.

"Hmm." Judge Lu then said to Black Impermanence, "The underworld is cold and gloomy, and it is not suitable for living souls to stay for long. Old Black, you should send the person back."

"……oh."

Black Impermanence seemed somewhat bewildered by the development of the situation. Upon receiving the order, he led Lin Wanyue and brought Laifu to the human world.

As Bai Wuchang followed Judge Lu, he watched their disappearing figures.

After hesitating for a while, he finally approached Judge Lu from behind and asked in a low voice, "Sir, what is the background of this little girl?"

When he first met this little girl, he felt that she seemed to have an extraordinary background, and this time she was able to make the upright and incorruptible Judge Lu let her go easily.

This is quite different from the adults we've had before!

“Actually…” Judge Lu stroked his beard before slowly saying, “When I passed by the Qin King’s Mirror just now, I already saw her reflection. I could only see her body, but I could not see her coming or going, nor could I see her past.”

"This little brat actually has such abilities?" Bai Wuchang's pale face showed surprise, and he looked in the direction Lin Wanyue had left.

The Qin King Mirror is also a divine artifact in the underworld, capable of reflecting the images of humans, ghosts, and gods. Those with profound magical powers can even peek into the past and future of others through the Qin King Mirror.

Judge Lu's magical power is naturally not to be underestimated.

But even Judge Lu couldn't see through her true nature...

It's clear that this little girl not only has a natural third eye.

Judge Lu looked up at the sky and then said nothing more.

"..." Bai Wuchang immediately understood. In the past few thousand years, many of the gods and goddesses in heaven must have gotten tired of playing in heaven or made mistakes, so they have come down to earth to undergo tribulations.

...

On the other side, Lin Wanyue held Hei Wuchang's hand and popped a pine nut candy that Judge Lu had given her into her mouth. She thought to herself that Judge Lu was a pretty good person and quite reasonable!

"We've arrived." Black Impermanence returned Lin Wanyue's soul to her body and then disappeared.

As soon as Lin Wanyue opened her eyes, she saw something furry bobbing around on her face.

Then she saw Lin Diaodiao jump up and down suddenly on her chest, as if... she was doing some kind of CPR?

Fortunately, Lin Diaodiao herself wasn't very big, so she didn't send Lin Wanyue back to the underworld.

"Speak!" Lin Wanyue coughed twice from being pressed down, then got up, grabbed Lin Diaodiao, and shook her a few times. "Are you trying to murder your master?"

"Woo woo~" When Lin Diao Diao saw that Lin Wanyue had come back to life, she excitedly pounced on Lin Wanyue's neck, her big tail wagging back and forth, overjoyed.

After being hugged and petted by Lin Diaodiao for a while, Lin Wanyue finally pulled Lin Diaodiao off her, only to find that the guy's fur was a little wet, especially the fur around his eyes.

"Why are you crying?" Lin Wanyue asked, somewhat surprised.

"I didn't realize this little guy had any conscience," Laifu chimed in from the side. "Unlike that little pink butterfly, which is probably still hiding in the water tank, too scared to come out."

Lin Wanyue tore open a cat treat and fed it to Lin Diaodiao. Then she remembered that she had forgotten to thank the Black and White Impermanence. If it weren't for the two of them, she wouldn't have been able to go to the underworld to see Judge Lu and plead for mercy.

"Sigh, I don't know if the uncles liked the snacks from last time. I forgot to give them to them..." Lin Wanyue had just finished speaking.

A black figure appeared in front of Lin Wanyue, with a dark face and all black except for the whites of his eyes, staring at her intently.

It was none other than the Black Impermanence, dressed entirely in black.

"If you're going to talk about that, I'm not leaving."

Lin Wanyue: "..."

This guy should really be renamed "Ears That Can Hear the Wind," right?

"Here." Lin Wanyue took out several more gift bags from her spatial storage and handed them to Hei Wuchang. "And Uncle Bai's too."

"Let's go." Black Impermanence then disappeared with the items, satisfied.

Only after he disappeared did Lin Wanyue dare to release Master Cui.

Master Cui was already terrified, his heart pounding wildly. He touched his chest and realized that his heart had stopped beating, which calmed him down considerably.

Death is truly a reassuring thing!

The corpses were all cold.

"Here you go, Master Cui." To appease Master Cui, Lin Wanyue gave him a pack of cigarettes.

Master Cui, however, waved his hand, saying it was unnecessary.

"Huh? You quit smoking?" Lin Wanyue asked in surprise. Master Cui was a heavy smoker. Even after he died, he forgot everything but smoking.

Master Cui pulled out several packs of cigarettes from his sleeve, saying, "No need, no need, I still have some in stock."

Lai Fu carried the candy and snacks in his belly, while Master Cui, whose lungs weren't quite as strong, only managed to carry a few in his sleeve.

If I don't take it now, there's really no room left to carry it.

Lin Wanyue: "..."

What kind of monsters is she raising?

Lin Wanyue returned home with two ghosts and a Lin Diao Diao, but the Lin family seemed unaware of her disappearance. She looked up at the newly risen moon and felt that something was wrong with the time.

It took a long time to get to the underworld and I talked a lot with Judge Lu, but it seems like not much time has passed in the mortal world.
