Chapter 14 A Slight Threat

From then on, He Ning ate all three meals a day with Yun Chuwei.

He Ning also fed Yun Chuwei every dose of her medicine.

Yun Chuwei never imagined that one day she would be able to live a life where people would praise her for eating more food or taking medicine.

On the third day at noon, Yun Chuwei and He Ning had just finished lunch when Granny Song arrived in a hurry.

“Madam, the situation… the situation has changed…” Granny Song hesitated, clearly having something urgent to tell He Ning.

He Ning glanced at Granny Song, then turned to Yun Chuwei, as if to say something.

At this moment, Guiyan brought the medicine over.

"Madam, the imperial physician said that the prescription has been changed today. This medicine may be a bit bitter, but it will definitely be the best for Miss's health!"

Guiyan placed a bowl of medicine on the table and said with a smile.

He Ning glanced at the bowl of medicine, then looked at Granny Song and said, "Let's talk about it after I've fed Weiwei her medicine!"

After saying that, He Ning picked up the medicine.

Granny Song was anxious, but she didn't say anything.

Yun Chuwei looked at He Ning and said, "Mother, if you have something urgent to attend to, please go and take care of it. This medicine..."

Yun Chuwei was hesitating about what to say when Guiyan interrupted her.

"This medicine can be given to the young lady by your servant!"

Yun Chuwei could only nod in agreement: "Yes, it's the same if Guiyan feeds me."

He Ning hesitated for a moment, but finally placed the bowl in Guiyan's hands.

"Then, Guiyan, you feed your young lady her medicine. Weiwei is afraid of bitterness, so remember to give her candied fruit at different times. Make sure to watch the young lady finish her medicine, or I will hold you responsible."

The returning geese nodded repeatedly in agreement.

After giving his instructions, He Ning smiled gently at Yun Chuwei before standing up and leaving in a hurry with Granny Song.

After the two left, Guiyan took a small spoon and brought the medicine to Yun Chuwei's lips, saying, "Miss, drink your medicine."

Yun Chuwei glanced at the medicine and said slowly, "Put it down, take it later!"

Guiyan quickly said, "No, Miss, if Madam finds out you're not taking your medicine, I'll definitely be in trouble! Madam is only doing this for your own good! You won't blame Madam, will you? You're so kind, you wouldn't want to put me in such a difficult position, would you?"

Yun Chuwei listened, speechless.

She reached out, took the small spoon from Guiyan's hand, and put it back into the medicine bowl.

Seeing this, Guiyan decided to use her skills of crying, making a scene, and pestering to plead with her young mistress.

However, before she could even speak, she saw her young mistress pick up the medicine bowl and drink the medicine in one gulp.

Returning Geese: ...

She paused for a moment, then immediately grabbed the candied fruit from the side and said, "Miss, why are you taking your medicine like this? It must be very bitter! Come and eat a couple of candied fruits to help you digest it!"

Yun Chuwei gently pushed away Guiyan's hand, which was holding the candied fruit, and said calmly, "No need, I don't find it bitter!"

Guiyan was stunned by her young mistress's calm and composed demeanor.

The young lady seems to be able to drink the whole bowl of medicine in one gulp, and she really doesn't seem to be afraid of bitterness.

Why did the lady feed the young lady bite by bite, and also give her candied fruit in between bites?

Could it be that the young lady was trying to appease the madam?

Guiyan was at a loss for words.

Yun Chuwei noticed Guiyan's gaze, seemed to realize something, and slowly said, "There's no need to tell Madam about this!"

The returning wild goose hesitated: "But, but..."

The lady is her benefactor; everything she has now is thanks to the lady. She shouldn't hide anything from the lady.

Yun Chuwei saw through Guiyan's thoughts and said with a smile, "If you lie when your wife asks you, that's called concealing something. If you don't answer even when your wife doesn't ask, that's not concealing anything. Don't you think so?"

Guiyan hesitated. She didn't know if this made sense, but something just felt off.

Yun Chu continued with a smile, "If you tell your mistress about this, I'll complain to her that you didn't serve me well enough, that you made me drink my medicine by myself and didn't even give me candied fruit, and that she'll kick you out of the manor! Do you think your mistress will believe me?"

Guiyan shrank back, thinking that the madam would trust the young lady and do as she said.

She quickly replied, "Madam said that I am Miss's person. As long as it doesn't harm Madam, I will do whatever Miss tells me to do!"

Yun Chuwei nodded in satisfaction, then looked towards the doorway, a thoughtful expression on her face.

He Ning and Granny Song were in a great hurry, not knowing what had happened.

-

He Ning returned to her room and, after dismissing everyone else, asked Song Mama in a low voice, "How did it go?"

Granny Song lowered her voice and said, "According to Madam's wishes, these past two days everyone in the manor has been exaggerating the story of you dining with the eldest young lady and personally feeding her medicine. The second young lady certainly couldn't sit still any longer!"

He Ning raised an eyebrow: "What did she do?"

Granny Song continued, "Just now, the person watching the Second Miss came back to report that when the Second Miss was making bird's nest today, she added twice as much stuff as she had the previous two days."

He Ning nodded slightly: "It seems we can begin the next step of our plan!"

Although they knew Yun Lianhua had poisoned her, they were unsure who was behind Yun Lianhua.

It wasn't that she didn't believe in Yun Chuwei, but rather that divination results weren't necessarily accurate.

They must do something to throw the other side into disarray.

Only in this way can the person behind the scenes be made to show themselves sooner.

Now it seems that everything is going according to their plan.

Granny Song took out a packet of medicinal powder and said, "This is medicine given by Physician Li. He said that after taking this medicine, the condition will be no different from being poisoned. After five days, the effects of the medicine will dissipate, and you will be fine!"

He Ning took the powder and poured it into her teacup.

"Every medicine has some toxicity. Does Madam really want to drink this medicine?" Granny Song pressed down on He Ning's teacup and asked.

He Ning smiled slightly: "Nothing ventured, nothing gained. After the news of my poisoning spread, keep a close eye on Yun Lianhua and bring under control everyone she has contacted. Interrogate them thoroughly!"

Granny Song nodded.

"And..." He Ning seemed to have thought of something, and a smile appeared on his face, "Weiwei is most afraid of taking medicine. I definitely won't be able to go and give her her medicine these next few days, so keep an eye on her and send her more candied fruit. Don't be stingy with the ginseng in my storeroom either, take it out and make chicken soup for her, she needs to nourish herself properly!"

Granny Song agreed to all of them.

He Ning didn't hesitate any longer, picked up the glass of water, and drank it.

At the same time, Yun Lianhua's voice rang out from outside the door.

"Mother, your daughter has prepared bird's nest soup for you!"

Upon hearing this, Granny Song became nervous.

Yun Lianhua hadn't personally delivered the bird's nest for the past two days, but unexpectedly she came today.
