Chapter 25 A Slight Joke

As Yun Chuwei spoke, she pressed the iron hook onto Yun Qianming's shoulder.

Yun Qianming felt the sharp hook pierce his skin.

He had just clearly sensed Yun Chuwei's ruthlessness.

He was certain that if he refused to speak, Yun Chuwei would definitely pierce his collarbone.

He looked at Yun Chuwei in horror and screamed, "I'll talk! I'll talk! It's His Highness the Crown Prince!"

Yun Chuwei paused what she was doing and continued to ask, "What is your plan? Was Wei Yi introduced to you by His Highness the Crown Prince?"

“His Highness the Crown Prince found me first, saying he wanted to deal with you. I was punished by my family because of you, and I hated you, so I naturally agreed to His Highness’s request. Originally, I wanted to drug my mother and make her faint temporarily. I didn’t expect that my mother would actually faint, which saved us the trouble of doing it ourselves.”

"After I told the Crown Prince about this, he said he had made arrangements and told me to go find Wei Yi the next day. Yesterday, after I met with Wei Yi, I immediately returned to my residence! You all know what happened after that!"

"I'm telling the truth! Please let me go!" Yun Qianming pleaded, his voice trembling with tears, as he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder.

Yun Chu chuckled softly, pulled the sharp hook out from under Yun Qianming's skin, and then patted Yun Qianming's cheek with the hook: "You should have done this earlier! Why did you have to make me use the hook!"

Yun Qianming looked at Yun Chuwei, his face completely drained of color.

Before this, he had thought he could drive Yun Chuwei out of the capital.

Now he understands that Yun Chuwei is far less innocent than she appears.

All he felt for Yun Chuwei was fear.

Yun Chuwei turned her head and found that Lord Xu and the officers beside him were looking at her with shocked expressions.

Xie Xuan's eyes held a complex expression.

Yun Chu smiled, put down the sharp hook in her hand, and said with a laugh, "I was just joking with him! Who knew he would be so easily frightened!"

Mr. Xu:...

You've already stuck the hook into someone's flesh, how can you joke like that?

But he didn't expose him and quickly said, "Yes, yes, just kidding."

However, if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, Lord Xu would never have believed that Yun Chuwei had this side to her.

His admiration for Yun Chuwei grew even stronger.

The official came to his senses, and his gaze towards Yun Chuwei became even more ardent.

The look in her eyes as she looked at Yun Qianming was even more disdainful.

This spineless coward, he gets scared so easily that he confessed everything!

They dared to shout and yell like that, it's hilarious!

Yun Chuwei thought for a moment, then continued, "What he said just now..."

Lord Xu continued, "I didn't hear anything!"

The official readily agreed, saying, "I didn't hear anything either!"

Yun Chuwei nodded slightly and said nothing more.

She wasn't afraid of these people spreading the word.

However, if they dare to spread this, they might not be able to save their own lives.

After seeing that Yun Chuwei had finished interrogating Yun Qianming, Lord Xu said, "If Miss Yun is alright, I'll take you upstairs. The yin energy in this dungeon is too heavy; staying there for too long is bad for your health!"

Yun Chuwei turned her head slightly to look at Xie Xuan and slowly said, "Your Highness Prince Xuan is probably going to see Wei Yi, right? I'd like to go with you and see, is that alright?"

Xie Xuan lowered her eyes: "Go if you want to!"

If she really wanted to go, he couldn't stop her.

Seeing this, Lord Xu immediately said, "In that case, please follow me!"

Soon, Yun Chuwei and the others met Wei Yi.

Wei Yi's situation is much worse than Yun Qianming's.

Wei Yi's bones are much harder than Yun Qianming's.

Even though she was covered in wounds and barely breathing, Wei Yi still insisted that she had not killed anyone.

According to him, he had no idea there would be a body in the lake.

Lord Xu asked the jailer who was interrogating him, "Are you still not going to say anything?"

The jailer nodded: "This one's a tough nut to crack!"

Lord Xu looked at Wei Yi and said, "Wei Yi, we have evidence that you forged letters, evidence that you deceived the Taoist priests of Sanqing Temple, and even more so, the testimony of the Taoist priests of Sanqing Temple. Even if you don't confess, I can still convict you! It's pointless for you to stubbornly refuse to speak!"

Wei Yi looked at Lord Xu, a bloodied smile playing on his lips, and said coldly and mockingly, "Lord Xu, there must be many questions surrounding this case, otherwise you wouldn't have gone to such lengths to extract a confession through torture! But I simply don't know. Even if you convict me, I haven't killed anyone! I know you want to frame me, but as long as I don't confess, I still have a chance to live. Unless, you kill me right now!"

Lord Xu was so angry at Wei Yi's smug face that he blew his beard and glared at him.

Seeing this, Xie Xuan said coolly, "Lord Xu is not young anymore, so you should take it easy and not let yourself get so angry that you faint."

Lord Xu's lips twitched, and he became even angrier.

He stopped talking and just sullenly hid behind Yun Chuwei.

Yun Chuwei chuckled to herself.

She hadn't expected Xie Xuan to be this kind of person.

Xie Xuan turned to Wei Yi and said slowly, "Do you think that as long as you don't plead guilty, your case can be sent to the Dali Temple? And once it's there, someone will help you lobby, stall for time, and eventually find a way to get you acquitted?"

Wei Yi glanced at Xie Xuan and said, "Your Highness, this shouldn't be called acquittal, right? This is the procedure for handling cases. If there are wrongful convictions, they should naturally be sent to the Court of Judicial Review!"

Xie Xuan chuckled upon hearing this, "You think you can survive by remaining silent? But have you ever considered that only by taking all the blame and dying can the people behind you remain unharmed?"

Upon hearing this, Wei Yi's expression changed slightly.

However, he quickly adjusted his mindset: "Your Highness, you don't need to trick me. I don't have anyone behind me."

Xie Xuan looked at Wei Yi and said slowly, "If you think I'm bluffing you, then let's have a good talk, starting with the identity of the deceased!"

Wei Yi looked at Xie Xuan but didn't say anything.

Xie Xuan continued, "Of the four deceased, one was your master, without a doubt. The other three, according to the coroner's examination, were three beautiful young women."

Wei Yi's expression remained unchanged.

Xie Xuan paused for a moment, then continued, "We originally had no clue about the identities of these three women. However, yesterday a piece of paper appeared in front of the Dali Temple with the names of three women written on it."

Wei Yi's expression changed slightly.

"Liu Ruyue, Feng Mianmian, Jiang Wanqing." Xie Xuan looked at Wei Yi and slowly read out the three names.

Wei Yi trembled slightly and her eyes widened.

He didn't expect that Xie Xuan could pronounce all three names perfectly!

In other words, someone really did tell Xie Xuan the identities of these three people?

Xie Xuan continued, "This morning, rumors circulated in the capital. It was said that before these three women disappeared, they had arranged to go to the Sanqing Temple to pray for blessings. Unexpectedly, you were overcome by lust and raped and murdered all three!"
