He Ning did not respond. She wondered if this child's temperament needed to be tempered.

So she just stood there, without making any gesture, and without reaching out to help Yun Chuwei up.

Seeing that He Ning didn't speak, Yun Chuwei straightened up and sat back down in her chair. She leaned against the armrest and fiddled with the teacup on the table, her posture relaxed and languid.

He Ning frowned when he saw Yun Chuwei sit down without his permission and without any proper posture.

But she also knew that this was not the time to scold the child.

Suppressing her displeasure, she asked, "What do you have to say about your sister getting burned?"

Yun Chuwei toyed with her slender, fair fingers over the teacup and said slowly, "I didn't push anyone, I didn't even touch her with a finger."

He Ning frowned slightly; she found this statement hard to believe.

“Your sister is so elegant and poised, every move she makes is the epitome of a noble lady. Can’t she even pour you tea properly? Besides, your brother said…”

Yun Chuwei interrupted He Ning, her voice more indifferent: "Yun Lianhua and I are the parties involved. You don't believe what I told her, but instead believe a fool who knows nothing. Are you not thinking straight?"

He Ning choked, and after a long while, she finally spoke up to explain, "Your sister was trying to cover it up for you..."

Yun Chuwei didn't want to argue with He Ning any longer, so she interrupted her again: "You don't believe what she says, but you try to guess what she's thinking. Are you a mind reader?"

He Ning's lips twitched. This was the first time she had ever heard someone use such a metaphor to describe herself, and she couldn't say anything about it.
