Lu Ben and Zhang Dongliang searched for supplies in City A for two days. During these two days, the two of them wandered around outside. If Lu Ben hadn't been a mutated fire-type ability user, and if Zhang Dongliang hadn't been wearing thick clothes when he came out, the two of them would have frozen to death in City A long time ago.
After two days of fruitless searching, the two moved away from the eerie outer ring of City A, a place devoid of people, zombies, and supplies, and headed towards the inner ring of City A.
The two found a place to settle down, which was still a supermarket, but this time it was a supermarket with supplies and zombies.
Having eaten and drunk his fill, Lu Ben immediately rushed to the seafood wholesale market in City A, intending to burn all the seafood.
Then he saw Tang Qiang, who was hiding outside a small supermarket near the seafood wholesale market.
Tang Qiang is a delivery driver at the seafood wholesale market in City A. About five months ago, he made an unusual delivery.
The big client that day made some very strange demands. He bought 1,000 catties of all the seafood in the wholesale market, and also bought several thousand of all the baby seafood.
He was stunned when he and many of his fellow drivers delivered goods to customers' homes.
So many live poultry, densely packed together, chickens, ducks, cows, sheep and other animals filled the space in front of the villa. Was this an animal party?
Tang Qiang secretly kept this in mind and memorized the location of the villa.
It was his oversight that prevented the monster's flames from reaching him, because he had told the monster that he knew of a place where there were abundant resources.
The strange man is Lu Ben, and the place with a large amount of supplies is the place where Tang Qiang delivered the goods: the Ye family villa.
Tang Qiang did not leave City A with the main group of survivors. On the day the apocalypse broke out, he happened to go to a small supermarket near the seafood wholesale market to buy bread. The owner of the small supermarket was an old man with gray hair.
While Tang Qiang was picking out bread in the supermarket, the old man received a phone call. The caller said that the old man's son had been in a car accident and that the old man should go to the hospital immediately.
The old man hurriedly closed the supermarket's roller shutter door, completely forgetting that Tang Qiang was still inside.
When Tang Qiang heard the sound of the roller shutter closing, he was stunned for a moment, but soon, a wicked thought arose in his mind. Looking at the goods in the room, his hands were itching.
Before becoming a delivery driver, Tang Qiang was a petty thief who had stolen people's cell phones and wallets on the street and on buses, and had never failed.
He had also broken into other people's homes, intending to rob them, but that one and only attempt at burglary failed.
The reason is simple: he didn't do his homework.
That night, under the cover of darkness, Tang Qiang squandered the money he had stolen that afternoon, getting completely drunk. On his way home, he saw a house with its window wide open and decided to rob it, completely unaware that the house had a large dog.
After much difficulty, Tang Qiang finally made it into the room. Just as he tiptoed, crouched low, squinted, and hiccuped as he tried to get to the TV cabinet, a teddy bear rushed out, barking and snarling at him.
Tang Qiang pulled out the knife he was carrying, killed the puppy, found all the valuables stored in the house, and fled.
But justice prevails, and Tang Qiang's actions of killing the puppy and burgling the house were captured on the room's security cameras.
The dog's owner never imagined that in the time it took to go out to buy a late-night snack, his dog would be killed and his money stolen.
The dog owner called the police, and Tang Qiang was arrested.
After his release from prison, Tang Qiang worked as a delivery driver at a seafood wholesale market through family connections, but he still did not change his petty theft behavior.
Tang Qiang was a regular customer of this supermarket. He knew that the windows in the supermarket's restrooms were not burglar bars and that one could easily climb out of them.
With perfect timing, location, and people, Tang Qiang, this rat, was trapped in a supermarket full of supplies, and the supermarket suffered the consequences.
Tang Qiang treated the old man's supermarket as his own, indulging in lavish meals and drinks.
Enjoying a leisurely stroll on the supermarket owner's recliner, taking a bite of ice cream, sipping red wine, and showing off a bag of potato chips...
After Tang Qiang filled his stomach to the brim, he took a large bag from the supermarket and began rummaging through the store. Then he heard screams coming from the seafood wholesale market next door.
"Ah! A monster, a man-eating monster!"
As soon as I turned on my phone, all I saw were news reports of unknown viruses breaking out in various places.
On his phone, he saw the scene of the supermarket owner, an old man with gray hair, being bitten to death by a passing monster.
Tang Qiang chickened out and holed up inside the supermarket.
But the supermarket supplies would eventually run out. With global water and power outages and the arrival of extreme cold weather, Tang Qiang could no longer stay there.
He had to get out; he had eaten all the edible cooked food in the supermarket, and he needed to find a way to survive.
Tang Qiang climbed out of the toilet window and out of the small supermarket where he had been staying for several months. However, by sheer coincidence, he ran into Lu Ben as soon as he landed.
Their eyes met, and neither of them spoke.
One was Lu Ben, dressed strangely and carrying an old-fashioned hunting rifle; the other was Tang Qiang, who reeked of foul odor.
Since the water supply was cut off, Tang Qiang hadn't taken a shower. His hair was so greasy it could be used to fry vegetables, and it was covered in clumps. A layer of filth covered his body, which he couldn't scrub off. He looked like a zombie wandering outside.
Lu Ben didn't mistake Tang Qiang, who had suddenly appeared, for a zombie, but with red eyes, he still planned to attack Tang Qiang without saying a word.
Tang Qiang looked at the dark gun pointed at his head and cowered. He immediately raised his hands in surrender, stating his identity and value, "Hero, spare my life! I'm a human being, I know where to find supplies!"
He knew how scarce resources were in the apocalypse. During the months he was locked in the supermarket, he spied on other people's lives on his phone screen every day. From the various posts, Tang Qiang learned how scarce food was in the outside world.
Lu Ben took Tang Qiang back, and before taking him back, he gave Tang Qiang a severe beating, because Tang Qiang's sudden appearance startled him.
Tang Qiang believed this reason, but Lu Ben himself did not.
Before attacking Tang Qiang, Lu Ben was fully aware of the effects of the mutated fire-type ability within him. He wanted to kill all living things around him, whether they were zombies or humans.
After Tang Qiang spoke up, Lu Ben stopped his attack with his own willpower, but the restlessness inside him had not subsided. He needed to vent, so Lu Ben beat Tang Qiang up.
Zhang Dongliang and Lu Ben lived and ate together for several months. When Lu Ben returned, Zhang Dongliang noticed that something was wrong with him.
