Chapter 68: Can't catch up and can't beat them

Song Moshang looked at the others around him, asking for their opinions with his eyes.

The other people's opinion, of course, is to go.

They've been holed up in the villa for a long time, and even though they go out to fight zombies every day, they still get bored. It's time for them to go out and see the world.

The above are the thoughts of Song Moshang, Song Yuanqing, and two others who were unaware of the future of the apocalypse.

Having not fought zombies for several days, Ye Zhi, who finally got to go out for some fresh air today, was suddenly filled with fighting spirit. "Go, go fight other zombies!" she shouted.

Ye Yubai felt that his appearance had disrupted the course of this world, causing the extreme cold weather to arrive earlier than expected. He was no longer sure about the information he had and believed it was necessary to communicate with people from other bases to obtain more information, as being complacent and closed-minded was not a good thing.

After exchanging glances, the six of them decided to go!

"Go, but Yunhao, which bases are going with us? How many people are there in total? Where will we meet up? And most importantly, where will we find supplies?" The old man asked in great detail; they didn't want to fight an unprepared battle.

Every time the group went out to fight zombies, they didn't just randomly pick a place and start killing. They printed out a layout map of City A, and every time they had a meeting, they would take out the map and carefully discuss the next attack location.

Now two-thirds of that map is marked with red crosses, all of which are places they have conquered.

It's still the early stages of the apocalypse, and the abilities of survivors and zombies are generally at level one or two.

The level 3 group was like wolves in a sheepfold, running rampant and killing zombies in the horde.

The group not only printed out the layout map of City A, but also printed out the layout maps of every city in the world.

Anyway, we have a printer, ink, and paper at home, so let's print it out while the satellite map is still usable!

Chen Yunhao's deep voice came from the phone, "Just now, the leader of our Z base and the leaders of other bases discussed and decided to officially rename Z base to Victory Base, D base in the east to Spark Base, and N base in the south to Prairie Base."

"The bases participating in this search and rescue operation include Victory Base, Spark Base, and Prairie Base, which are the three larger bases, as well as Dawn Base, Hope Base, Happiness Base, Peace Base, and Peace Base, which are the five smaller bases."

Ye Zhi raised an eyebrow upon hearing these base names that had never appeared in the original story. [Why are there so many more bases? The names all have pretty good meanings, though. This world has definitely collapsed.]

“Our Victory Base sent my squad, a total of ten people. The Spark Base and the Wildfire Base also sent ten people each. The other smaller bases added up to thirty people, for a total of sixty people.”

"We'll meet at our Victory Base and head to the largest garment factory in the west to collect supplies like quilts and cotton-padded clothes."

Ye Jingyu's voice came through the phone to Chen Yunhao, "Don't you have enough supplies?"

Chen Yunhao said helplessly, "It's not enough." He had been feeling fortunate these past few days that Old Master Song had refused his request to donate supplies.

Victory Base had already notified all bases of the impending extreme cold, and each base was making the most of the last moments to gather supplies.

But it wasn't enough, far from enough. The temperature was too low, and with the power outage, the warm clothing they had previously searched for was simply not enough!

Several ordinary survivors at their Victory Base even froze to death!

"Should we go ourselves, or should you come pick us up? There are six of us in total."

"Uncle Song, to show our sincerity and gratitude, our Victory Base will provide you with a special car for transportation."

"OK."

Two days later, Tang Xubai and Wang Yao each drove a military armored vehicle to the Ye family villa.

Tang Xubai's mouth gaped slightly when he saw Ye Zhi's family, who had received advance notice and come out to prepare. He looked at Ye Zhi, who was wrapped up like a ball in Ye Jingyu's arms, and asked in shock, "Is my little niece going too?"

Ye Zhi showed her face and answered Tang Xubai's question, "Go."

Go and wreak havoc, go loot supplies, go and see some idiots you haven't seen in ages.

Tang Xubai was still shocked, "So young and yet speaks so clearly!"

"Um."

Song Yuanqing glanced at Ye Zhi, who wanted to see the idiot, with amusement, and assured Tang Xubai, "Our whole family is going. Are you going to leave Little Sweet Bean alone at home? Don't worry, we won't hold you back."

Ye Zhi stretched out her small hand, and ten soil spikes quickly appeared on the ground, proving to Tang Xubai that she would not hold him back.

Wang Yao exclaimed in surprise, looking very proud of Ye Zhi, "What! She has condensed more earth spikes than I have. Little Sweet Bean is really much more capable than her uncle."

Wang Yao had a deceased child who was about the same age as Ye Zhi. He had visited the Ye family villa before and played with Ye Zhi, and had long regarded Ye Zhi as his own child.

So he was very happy to see how capable Ye Zhi was, and hoped that Ye Zhi would not repeat the tragedy of his child.

Of Ye Zhi and her group, only Ye Yubai and Old Master Song got into Tang Xubai and Wang Yao's car; the rest stayed in the RV.

Grandpa Song wanted to make it easier to communicate with Tang Xubai, while Ye Yubai simply didn't want to ride in a motorhome; he preferred cool military armored vehicles.

Along the way, Grandpa Song inquired about the situation of each base in great detail.

The population of Victory Base is approximately two million, while the populations of Spark Base and Wildfire Base are about one million each. The remaining smaller bases, such as Dawn Base, have populations ranging from several hundred thousand to ten thousand.

Besides the bases mentioned above that have a significant population, there are also some very small bases with even fewer people, ranging from a few thousand to a few dozen.
