Chapter 132 Summer Night Cry

"What's wrong with me?" The man stood up and looked at Jiang Yuan with a puzzled expression.

His shoulder ached when he moved his hand.

"Oh right, I remember now. When I was passing through the alley, I suddenly felt something inside. After I walked in, something bumped into my shoulder, and then I started bleeding!"

"Then...then I felt a splitting headache, as if something was being torn out of my body, and I lost consciousness."

Did you save me?

The man patted his head, recalling the events bit by bit, his mind becoming clearer and clearer.

He looked up at Jiang Yuan and asked.

“I saw you lying here as soon as I came in, and you woke up as soon as I got close,” Jiang Yuan replied, shaking her head.

If you tell him that he was injured by a vengeful ghost and almost became its meal, who knows how much trauma he will suffer.

It's better not to let him know.

"Why would I suddenly be like this?" The man scratched his head, completely baffled.

He was bleeding even though he had nothing with him?

Is this possible?

"They've been possessed by an evil spirit," Jiang Yuan reminded him.

"It's possible!" The man nodded, immediately accepting Jiang Yuan's explanation of being possessed.

It wasn't a case of being possessed by an evil spirit; there's no way to explain why his shoulder suddenly started bleeding, let alone why he collapsed there.

Besides, it's normal for people in his line of work to occasionally encounter some supernatural occurrences.

Jiang Yuan was surprised.

Most people wouldn't accept being possessed by a spirit so quickly, but the man in front of him accepted it without hesitation and remained very calm.

Seeing Jiang Yuan looking at him, the man extended his hand, "I forgot to introduce myself. Hello, my name is Xia Yeming."

"Jiang Yuan." Jiang Yuan gently placed her hand on Xia Yeming's hand, and then let go in less than three seconds.

"Jiang Yuan? Is that Jiang Yuan?" Xia Yeming asked in surprise.

He had just read the report yesterday that Mrs. Jiang had held a birthday party for the Jiang family's daughter and adopted daughter.

Who is Jiang Jia's daughter? Most people who have watched TV dramas will recognize her, since you can see her in any show you switch channels.

As for the Jiang family's adopted daughter, who caused quite a stir, everyone is even more familiar with her.

“It should be Jiang Yuan.” Jiang Yuan paused for a moment before answering.

There are probably quite a few people with the surname Jiang, but the only one named Jiang Yuan who is famous is probably, likely, perhaps, or possibly her.

"Sorry, I was just confirming, I didn't mean anything by it." Xia Yeming realized that his question was inappropriate and apologized.

"It's nothing," Jiang Yuan replied, shaking her head.

Xia Yeming scrutinized Jiang Yuan. Her eyes, like black gemstones, were dark and bright. Her cheeks were fair with a rosy glow, and her eyelashes were as long as dandelions. Her loose, jet-black hair added to her mysterious aura. As for her face…

Exquisite and beautiful.

"Mr. Xia?" Jiang Yuan called out a few times, but when Xia Yeming didn't respond, she raised her hand and waved in front of him.

Xia Yeming snapped out of his daze and asked guiltily, "W-what's wrong?"

"Do you need me to take you to the hospital?" Jiang Yuan glanced at Xia Yeming's shoulder and asked.

"No need. The wound has stopped bleeding and is only a little painful. It should scab over in a few days." Xia Yeming followed Jiang Yuan's gaze to her shoulder and shook his head.

For some reason, he saw his wound bleeding profusely before he fainted, but when he woke up, he found that apart from some pain, the bleeding had stopped, and he seemed to feel a bit better.

Just then, a bodyguard in a suit strode in from outside the alley. When he saw his boss sitting on the ground looking somewhat disheveled, the bodyguard's eyes were immediately fixed on Jiang Yuan, and he quickly judged whether she was friend or foe.

The boss didn't reject her; she was able to stay by his side, and he had just spoken to her.

They are friends!

Thinking of this, the bodyguard's gaze fell on Xia Yeming again. Seeing his injured shoulder and furrowed brows, he said worriedly, "Boss!"

"I'm fine," Xia Yeming replied, shaking his head.

Jiang Yuan looked at the tall and burly bodyguard in front of her.

Her light steps showed she was quite skilled in martial arts.

The bodyguard helped Xia Yeming up.

The two stood together, one like an eagle, the other like a weak and helpless chick.

"Where are the things?" Xia Yeming asked.

"In the car." The bodyguard glanced at Jiang Yuan, then looked at Xia Yeming, and answered honestly.

"Okay." Hearing the answer, Xia Yeming felt a little relieved.

Turning his head, his gaze fell on Jiang Yuan. "Miss Jiang, shall I give you a ride?"

“I live nearby, just a short walk away. Mr. Xia must have important matters to attend to, so I won’t disturb you.” Jiang Yuan shook her head, refusing.

Her hotel was just across the street; it was such a short distance, so walking was better than taking a car.

Traffic jams are common when you take a car, but walking is a smooth journey.

Seeing that Jiang Yuan was determined, Xia Yeming did not insist. "Alright, then Miss Jiang, please be careful on your journey."

"Okay." Jiang Yuan nodded and turned to leave.

As I exited the alley, I saw six bodyguards standing on both sides of the alley.

They stood upright, like pine trees, all wearing suits and glasses, looking fierce and exuding a powerful aura.

Most people would simply choose to go around them.

Seven bodyguards...

It seems that Mr. Xia is no ordinary person.

As Jiang Yuan looked at the bodyguards, the bodyguards also looked at Jiang Yuan.

They only looked away after Jiang Yuan had left their sight.

The bodyguard helped Xia Yeming leave the alley and get into the car.

After getting into the car, the bodyguard checked Xia Yeming's wounds, frowning as if deep in thought.

"The wound is deep, how could it scab over so quickly?" the bodyguard murmured.

Their boss still had bloodstains on him; the blood was thick and still smelled fishy. With so much blood, the wound must have been deep.

Not long after, not only did the bleeding stop, but a scab also formed.
