Chapter 199 Mother and Son Reunion

The next afternoon, Tang Li felt that she was almost fully recovered, so she asked Yan to handle the discharge procedures.

Yan Hui was still worried.

"Why don't we stay in the hospital for a couple more days to observe you? I don't feel comfortable taking you home in your current state. If something happens at home, it will be troublesome for us to come back to the hospital."

There wasn't a single car available to borrow from the entire village, and driving to the hospital in this rainy and snowy weather would be dangerous.

Tang Li shook her head; she was certain that there were no major problems with her body anymore.

“Let’s go back. We’ve been out for too long, and I’m worried about Auntie being home alone.”

In this kind of blizzard weather, accidents could happen at any time.

Bai Jingyue's eyesight is poor, and there is even a possibility that she might fall and get injured in the yard.

Thinking of this, Tang Li suddenly realized that she had forgotten to tell Lu Jianshen that Bai Jingyue was blind.

Anyway, they'll be reunited with their child soon, and then everything will be clear.

Bai Jingyue has been blind for so many years, her life must have been quite difficult. That small, dilapidated house in the mountains could collapse at any time.

In the afternoon, Yan Hui urged Tang Li to get a blood test.

Once he was certain that Tang Li's blood no longer contained any toxins, he felt relieved and led Tang Li back from the township hospital, the two of them stumbling along the muddy path.

When Tang Li passed by the market, she bought more meat, chicken, and fish, and packed several portions of fresh vegetables.

"In this heavy snow, it's too much trouble to walk back, and we can't even hail a taxi!"

Tang Li sighed. All around was a vast expanse of white, with not a single pedestrian on the road, and the surroundings were desolate.

That saying is absolutely true: to get rich, build roads first; but besides building roads, you also have to ensure their condition.

"It might take us two hours to walk back today!"

Yan Hui nodded; he didn't think it was a big deal.

I feel great today, and Tang Li is doing well too. I'm in a relaxed mood, and walking feels much easier.

"When I think back to last night, it feels like I took you on a trip through the gates of hell!"

Yan Hui felt a sense of relief, and her whole mind was exceptionally relaxed.

Tang Li smiled. "So, do you think we can be considered family now, having gone through thick and thin together?"

Yan Hui paused for a moment.

He said somewhat shyly, "Sister, if you're willing to treat me as your family, I would be more than happy to do so."

"Alright, Brother Yan Hui."

Tang Li had long regarded Yan Hui as her savior and like a younger brother.

As for the things Yan Hui didn't want to talk about, Tang Li didn't ask any more questions as long as he didn't bring them up.

The two of them stumbled and trudged, finally making it back to Bai Jingyue's residence by evening!

Bai Jingyue heard the familiar footsteps and stood up excitedly.

"Great, is it you who are back?"

The room was dark, with no lights on.

Whether the lights are on or off makes no difference to Bai Jingyue, who cannot see.

When Tang Li heard Bai Jingyue's excited voice, she felt a warm feeling in her heart, as if someone cared about her.

"Auntie, I'm all better now. I owe it all to Yan Hui. If he hadn't taken me to the hospital in the middle of the night, I would have been in real danger."

When Bai Jingyue heard these words, she breathed a long sigh of relief, and then kept bowing to the east and west.

"Thank God so much, you're back safe and sound."

Tang Li smiled and put the vegetables she was carrying into the kitchen.

"The snow outside is falling too heavily. We might have to stay with you for a few more days, Auntie. I'm going to the kitchen to wash the vegetables. I bought some fresh vegetables and fruit today."

Bai Jingyue happily agreed; she couldn't have been happier!

I've lived here alone for over ten years. It's so quiet and deserted; I don't even have anyone to talk to.

Bai Jingyue was delighted that two lovely young people had finally come to talk to her.

This meal was hot pot again. Firstly, Tang Li's cooking skills weren't very good, and secondly, in the dead of winter, beef hot pot was the perfect choice.

At the dinner table, Tang Li took out her phone, and sure enough, the signal was completely lost again. This remote mountain village...

After thinking for a moment, she decided to tell Bai Jingyue that she had already contacted Lu Jianshen.

“Today, when I was at the township hospital, there was a signal, so I called Lu Jianshen. Auntie, he was so happy that you were still alive. He can’t wait to come and see you.”

Upon hearing this, Bai Jingyue stopped eating, her movements froze, and her expression turned blank.

Then, tears welled up in her eyes.

To be able to see my son again in my lifetime is truly an incredibly lucky thing.

"Thank you, Tang Li."

Tang Li explained, "However, Auntie, it's snowing heavily in the mountains now, and a long stretch of road is impassable. They probably can't come. They'll have to wait until the snow melts and then come to pick you up in person."

Bai Jingyue nodded gently; her son's safety was the most important thing.

The fact that she and her son could meet and reunite was already a blessing from God; she didn't ask for more.

"Xiao Tang, thank you so much! You are a great benefactor to my son and me!"

Tang Li didn't know how to explain her relationship with Lu Jianshen, and felt quite embarrassed, so she simply stopped explaining.

Let Lu Jianshen talk to his mother then.

After dinner, the countryside was unusually quiet, with only the occasional bark of a dog.
