It was almost 9 o'clock when I left the fried chicken shop.
Chen Lei was waiting for his boss to send him an email informing him of the project's progress, but he had not received a reply.
He then took the initiative to call his boss.
"Mr. Lu, is the report ready? I need to distribute it to the other directors."
Lu Jianshen answered the phone as he walked back, saying, "I took a day off today."
He helped Tang Li open the car door and let her get in first.
After Tang Li got into the car, she looked down and smelled her coat again. Sure enough, it had a slight smell of cooking oil.
Chen Lei had obviously heard the noisy conversation on President Lu's end as well.
"Does that mean... I can take a day off tonight too?"
Lu Jianshen suggested, "I'm with Lili here at Yuntian Market, it's quite lively. You can bring your wife along for a stroll."
Tang Li sat in Lu Jianshen's car, glancing down at the fried chicken several times, but didn't open the paper bag.
"Why don't you just open it? It'll be another 20 minutes before we get home, and the fried chicken will get cold and won't taste good."
Tang Li gave an awkward smile, "If I eat fried chicken in your car, your car will smell."
Lu Jianshen smiled and shook his head. "Open it. I'll try the cumin flavor and see how it is."
Tang Li understood what he meant and opened the bag of fried chicken.
Lu Jianshen drove while Tang Li fed him.
"What should we do? Your car will definitely smell of fried chicken when you get on it tomorrow."
"I'll just drive a different car tomorrow and let it air out."
This is indeed a good idea.
Tang Li never expected that simply going to the night market with Lu Jianshen would make her a trending topic.
