Chapter 71 You are Lu Jianshen's enemy

Tang Li looked at Tang Nanquan coldly. Ha, what a fine way to compensate according to the original price!

The 8 billion yuan inheritance originally belonged to her. If it weren't for her gratitude for Tang Nanquan's upbringing, she would never have easily handed over the 8 billion yuan directly to Tang Nanquan.

"This is a memento left by my mother, the only one of its kind in the world. How are you going to return it? Do you think this can be measured in money?"

Tang Nanquan was so angry that he cursed, "What else can I do? Do you want me to die?!"

That damn girl is driving him to the brink of despair, so he shouldn't blame her for being ruthless.

"Lili, you don't want this or that, what are you going to do? It's just a broken hairpin!" Tang Nanquan clenched his fists in anger.

Tang Li sneered, "Not even a simple apology?"

Song Lan was quite sensible; she could tell that Tang Nanquan couldn't afford to offend Lu Jianshen, so she reluctantly said three words, "I'm sorry."

Extremely perfunctory!

"You shouldn't say that to me, you should say it to my mother!"

Song Lan looked completely bewildered, as if she had heard something unbelievable.

"What did you say? Your mother is already dead, and you want me to kneel before a dead person?"

"You should have knelt before her!"

Lu Jianshen frowned, then waved his hand. Two bodyguards in black stepped forward, one on each side, and lifted Song Lan up and put her in the car.

"Where are you taking me? Put me down, honey! Honey! Please save me!"

Tang Nanquan was also at a loss for what to do. He couldn't lose his temper, because if he angered Lili, Lu Jianshen wouldn't let the Tang family go.

"Lili, you...you have really disappointed your father."

Tang Li sneered and shook her head, "I'm no longer Daddy's obedient daughter, and you're no longer the same Daddy you used to be."

Song Lan was held down by two bodyguards and knelt in front of Tang Li's mother's grave for an hour. She was shivering from the cold and her mind was sluggish.

That damned little bitch, one day she'll find something on Tang Li and tear her to pieces, grind her bones to dust.

"Tang Li, even if you do this, you can't stop me from marrying your father. I'll be your stepmother sooner or later. As for your biological mother, she only deserves to stay in this dark and hopeless soil!"

"Smack!"

Tang Li slapped Song Lan hard across the face, making her head spin and leaving blood on the corner of her mouth.

"Believe it or not, I'll make sure you rot and stink in this dark, sunless land forever!"

Song Lan was so frightened that she dared not utter another word, and could only stare at her in fear and unease.

Tang Li took everything that belonged to her mother with her.

As for the rest of the Tang family, she didn't care; they had nothing to do with her.

Just when Tang Li thought the matter was over, she received another call from Song Lan that afternoon.

"Your dad is dying. You can come back or not, it's up to you. If you don't come back, I'll just send him to the funeral home and cremate him!"

Tang Li originally didn't want to get involved in the Tang family's affairs, but she was vaguely worried, after all, he was her father.

After thinking about it, she decided to go back and take a look.

At six o'clock in the evening, Tang Li went home.

"Didn't you say my dad was sick? Why didn't he go to the hospital?"

Song Lan sat on the sofa in the living room, casually painting her nails, looking completely at ease, seemingly unconcerned about whether her husband had died of illness.

"Go upstairs to the study and find him. He needs to see you!"

Song Lan cursed viciously at Tang Li's retreating figure.

That brat, all she has is a better background. What skills could she possibly have? She's not even as good as Ye Ru!

Tang Li pushed open the study door, feeling a vague unease in her heart.

She saw her father sitting properly in the chair, with a solemn expression on his face.

"Dad, what's up? You said you had a cold, but you look perfectly fine."

Tang Nanquan coughed lightly twice. "I caught a slight cold, but I have something to discuss with you. Please sit down and we can talk!"

As he spoke, he gestured for his daughter to sit down on the sofa opposite the coffee table.

Tang Nanquan then revealed his intentions.

“There are some things I originally planned to keep from you for the rest of my life, but now it seems I can’t hide them anymore. You can’t be with Lu Jianshen.”

Tang Li didn't understand why his father was so opposed to it. Was it just because his father suspected him of being immoral?

"I've already told you, Lu Jianshen and I are in a normal romantic relationship. We're both single, so why can't we be together? Besides, our age difference isn't that big!"

Tang Nanquan frowned, his face full of regret.

"Let me tell you the truth. How did Lu Jianshen's mother die? It was Lu Wenshan who ordered it. I indirectly caused her death, do you know that?"

Tang Li stood there, stunned, unable to react for a long time.

Tang Nanquan continued, "I don't want to bring up those hidden secrets of the Lu family anymore, but you insist on being with Lu Jianshen. If those secrets resurface, can you guarantee that Lu Jianshen will forgive you? After all, you are the daughter of his enemy!"

Tang Li felt as if she had been struck by lightning. "Dad, what exactly happened back then? How did Lu Jianshen's mother die?"

Tang Nanquan snorted coldly, his eyes filled with unfamiliar indifference.

"That's your former father-in-law, Lu Wenshan. You think he's a good person who practices Buddhism and eats vegetarian food? It's all an illusion. He has countless lives on his hands!"

Tang Nanquan sneered, and it was precisely for this reason that Lu Wenshan was very supportive of their marriage, which was to be their children's in-laws.
