Seeing that Zhu Hongan was unwilling to apologize, the man said he would tell Master Liang.
"Apologize quickly, or you'll be in even greater trouble if Master Liang finds out!"
Zhu Hongan returned to his seat with the cloth bag in his arms, refusing to apologize in silence.
"Just wait for me!" Han Wu, who had recovered, said harsh words to Zhu Hongan and ran out of the classroom.
Zhu Hongan didn't even look at him. He continued to take out the homework he did yesterday from the cloth bag, placed it neatly on the table, and then put the cloth bag next to the stool.
He sat upright on the stool seriously.
Zhu Hongan is short, so Mrs. Liang specially prepared a table and stool that suits his height.
Not long after, Han Wu brought Master Liang over.
Master Liang looked at Zhu Hongan with a stern and solemn look.
Zhu Hongan looked at him, his eyes bright and firm, without any nervousness or panic.
This reminded Master Liang of Su Liuer. They were indeed mother and son, which was why they were so calm at such a young age.
Master Liang praised her in his heart but showed nothing on his face. He said sternly:
"Zhu Hongan, Han Wu said you punched him in the stomach just now. Is that true?"
Zhu Hongan stood up. The academy had a rule that one had to stand up to show respect when answering the teacher's questions.
He nodded and said, "Yes."
Han Wu, who was standing next to Master Liang, immediately shouted, "Master, look, he's already admitted it! He hit me and he still hasn't apologized to me!"
In comparison, Zhu Hongan was very calm. He said nothing and did not refute Han Wu's accusations against him.
"Why did you hit someone?" Master Liang continued to ask Zhu Hongan.
Zhu Hongan glanced at the cloth bag beside him and said, "He. Grabbed. The. Bag."
Master Liang took a look at the cloth bag and asked Han Wu beside him:
"Did you steal his bag?"
Han Wu was stunned for a moment, then shook his head and defended himself, "I didn't steal it! I just took it to have a look out of curiosity. Who knew he would be so stingy as to not only not let me look at it but also hit me."
Zhu Hongan pursed his lips tightly but didn't interrupt.
Master Liang looked at the others and asked, "Did you all see what happened just now?"
"I saw it." Several people stood up and responded in unison.
"So do you think Han Wu stole the bag? If you think so, please stand up."
After Master Liang finished speaking, a man stood up. He was the teenage student who was boarding in the school, named Zhou Chong.
"The student saw Han Wu take Zhu Hongan's cloth bag without permission, and when Zhu Hongan asked him to return it, he deliberately raised it high and refused to give it back. Zhu Hongan then punched him."
"Master! I was just joking with Zhu Hongan. He didn't ask me for anything else, so he hit me. It's wrong to hit someone in the academy. This is the rule set by the academy."
Master Liang looked at the other students and asked again, "Does anyone have a different opinion on what just happened?"
There is not only Master Liang in this academy, there are two other masters, but Master Liang is the dean and is the strictest one on weekdays. The students are all afraid of him.
Everyone witnessed what had just happened. Even if they wanted to side with Han Wu, they did not dare to confuse right and wrong in front of Master Liang, so they all remained silent.
Master Liang said, "Okay, then it's just as Zhou Chong said. Zhu Hongan did hit Han Wu and he deserves to be punished."
He looked at Zhu Hongan and said, "I will punish you by making you stay after school and copy what you learned today until I am satisfied."
"Yes." Zhu Hongan nodded in agreement.
Han Wu raised his chin proudly towards Zhu Hongan. He was feeling happy when he suddenly heard Master Liang say to him:
"Han Wu, you will stand and raise your hands in class today."
