When Huang Dehan heard this, he immediately became anxious. How could he go to the hospital while carrying so many goods?
It turns out that this money is not that easy to earn.
After the village doctor left, Huang Dehan looked around the small farmyard in front of him. The yard was very clean. On the inside corner of the gate were two rows of neatly stacked firewood that were more than one person tall. There were also several lively-looking potted plants against the wall.
This place is not bad. Huang Dehan looked at the driver and tried to get close to him. "Master, what should I call you?"
The driver was probably in his fifties. He said his name was Dafu and asked Huang Dehan to just call him Uncle Fu.
After the conversation, I learned that Dafu has two sons and one daughter. His two sons have bought houses and settled down in the city, and his daughter is married and currently lives in the county town. Now there are only him and his wife at home.
Huang Dehan told Dafu that he came to look for his relatives, but not only did he not find them, he also sprained his foot.
The simple Dafu did not suspect anything and asked him what he planned to do.
"Is there any room in your house?" Huang Dehan asked.
"Yes." said Dafu.
Huang Dehan asked, "Can I stay at your house for a few days? I'll leave when my leg injury is almost healed. Don't worry, I won't live here for free. I'll pay the rent for you. How about that?"
Hearing that there was money to be made, Dafu was very happy and agreed immediately, telling Huang Dehan to just give him the money.
When he was about to leave, Huang Dehan asked Yi Bing to help him withdraw 5,000 yuan, gave Dafu 2,000 yuan, and added that he spent more than 1,000 yuan yesterday, so he only had more than 1,000 yuan left in his wallet.
He took out another thousand yuan from his wallet and handed it to Dafu: "Uncle Fu, I'm sorry to bother you these few days. Please also take me to the hospital, okay?"
Dafu took the money happily and said, "Okay, I'll take you to the hospital now."
Huang Dehan looked at the box in his hand and asked, "Where is the room? I'll put my luggage away before I leave."
Dafu pointed to the second room in the house and said, "You can live in that room. That's my youngest son's room. He hasn't been back to live here for a long time."
"Thank you, Uncle Fu."
Huang Dehan thanked him and stood up with difficulty, holding on to the stool.
When Da Fu saw that Huang Dehan's leg was injured, he kindly wanted to help him carry the luggage. However, before he even touched the suitcase, Huang Dehan nervously held the suitcase in his arms, as if he was afraid that he would snatch it away, which made Da Fu very embarrassed.
Huang Dehan also realized that he was too nervous and quickly said, "Sorry, I can do it myself, thank you!"
As he spoke, Huang Dehan carried the box and limped towards the room with difficulty.
The room was small and messy, with all sorts of miscellaneous items piled up everywhere. There was an empty wooden bed, with nothing on it.
Dafu came over and said, "I'll ask my wife to make the bed for you later."
Huang Dehan nodded, looked at the door of the room, and asked, "Do you have a key to this room?"
Dafu said awkwardly: "I'm sorry, this room is not locked."
Huang Dehan frowned. How could he leave the box in the room without locking it?
"Well, can you help me find a lock? Or you can buy it, I'll give you money." Huang Dehan said.
Dafu waved his hand and said, "No need to buy it. I'll go find one for you."
As he spoke, Da Fu began to search through all the drawers and cabinets in the house.
Finally, I found an old-fashioned padlock.
The doors here are all locked with padlocks.
