Chapter 51 I Want to Eat

When Gu Yanze came back with a bag of oranges, he saw Su Yanxi sitting next to three tombstones. The warm sunlight cast a soft light on her. Her pretty face was calm and gentle, with a kind of relief that he couldn't understand yet.

Worried that she would be scared being alone in the cemetery, Gu Yanze hurried all the way back as fast as he could.

"Yanyan, are you scared?"

Su Yanxi showed a peaceful smile on her face: "I'm not afraid, my family is here with me."

Gu Yanze's heart suddenly sank, and his eyes were filled with pity as he looked at her.

Su Yanxi waved towards Gu Yanze and called him, "Brother."

That’s all.

From now on, let’s just get along with each other as brother.

When Gu Yanze heard Su Yanxi calling him brother, a name he hadn't heard for a long time, he thought she had cleared up the barriers between them.

Su Yanxi placed the oranges in front of her mother's tombstone and chattered about some little things that happened in her life.

It was already afternoon when we returned to the Su family residence from the cemetery.

The Su family residence was uninhabited and had fallen into disrepair, exuding a desolate silence.

Gu Yanze frowned: "Yanyan, let's stay in a hotel. This place is unacceptable."

Gu Yanze grew up in luxury, never having to do housework. He was good at making money and enjoying life, and had never done any heavy work.

The Gu family's house was full of dust and cobwebs. Even if workers were hired to clean it, they would complain that it was too dirty and too tiring.

As the saying goes, no place is worse than your own. No matter how your home is not as good as others, you will never despise your own home.

Su Yanxi rarely returns to Yuncheng, and wants to stay in this place that carries her childhood memories.

Gu Yanze pulled her out and said, "It's too dirty here. There might even be poisonous insects and snakes. Let's not live here."

Gu Yanze did not grow up here and has no feelings for this place. In his eyes, living here is suffering.

The two walked out of the Su family's house and came across a stall selling Yuncheng snacks on the way, including fried bamboo worms, fried silkworm pupae, fried scorpions, and fried centipedes.

There is also something placed in the most conspicuous position in the stall: fried flower spiders.

Su Yanxi was not unfamiliar with these things, as she ate them every day when she was a child.

These things are high-protein delicacies and extremely nutritious.

Gu Yanze couldn't accept any of them and almost vomited after just one look.

These Yuncheng specialty snacks are hard to buy in other places. Su Yanxi originally wanted to buy a bunch of each to try, but when she saw Gu Yanze's disgusted expression, she didn't say anything.

Gu Yanze brought Su Yanxi to the most expensive hotel in Yuncheng and arranged the most luxurious presidential suite for her.

He took her to have lunch at the hotel, and every dish was full of commercial and streamlined sophistication, with no difference or uniqueness from what she had eaten elsewhere.

During the meal, Gu Yanze asked Su Yanxi, "You eat so little. Is the food here not delicious?"

Su Yanxi forked a piece of steak and put it into her mouth: "It's very well done."

After dinner, Su Yanxi prepared to go for a walk in the night market. Gu Yanze followed her out and said, "It's not safe for girls to walk at night. I'll go with you."

Two people were walking on the sidewalk when a Rolls-Royce Chaser Midnight Rose came speeding from the opposite direction and drove into the hotel.

In Yuncheng's bustling night market, all kinds of stalls are bustling with people, and the dazzling array of goods is full of the atmosphere of fireworks.

Su Yanxi was walking around the stalls and having a great time when Gu Yanze received a call.

After the call ended, Gu Yanze frowned and said, "Yanyan, something urgent happened at my company and I need to go back."

Su Yanxi: "Brother Yanze, if you have something to do, go and do it first."

Gu Yanze looked up at this unfamiliar place and said, "It's dangerous for you, a girl, to be here alone. Come back to Jingbei with me."

Su Yanxi said gently: "Brother Yanze, I want to stay in Yuncheng."

There was a hint of impatience between Gu Yanze's brows.

The phone rang again. Gu Yanze raised his hand and said impatiently, "I can't go back today. You guys should figure it out on your own. Did I pay you to come here for a free meal? If you're useless, just resign."

A lazy and carefree voice came over: "You're so angry, are you eating a powder keg?"

Gu Yanze was slightly startled: "Why is it you?"

Fu Linchen: "There's a pretty good private space exploration technology company in Yuncheng. I'm here to discuss acquiring it."

Gu Yanze had heard of this company in Yuncheng and was simply surprised: "What a coincidence?"

Fu Linchen: "What's the coincidence?"

Gu Yanze: "Yanyan and I are also in Yuncheng."

Fu Linchen's tone was full of surprise: "Really? I didn't know."

"But I'm ready to go back now," Gu Yanze looked at Su Yanxi beside him and said, "Please help me take care of Yanyan these few days."

Fu Linchen: "Isn't this inappropriate? She is your fiancée. If others see her, it will easily cause misunderstandings. It's better to let others take care of her."

Gu Yanze raised his voice: "What's inappropriate about this? I don't care what others say. I trust you. You help me take care of Yanyan. That's it."

Fu Linchen looked very embarrassed: "Okay, I'll accept it reluctantly."

When Gu Yanze left, he said to Fu Linchen, "Come quickly and accompany Yanyan. Don't leave her alone."

Su Yanxi didn't mind strolling around the night market alone. Thinking that Fu Linchen would not be here for a while, she walked around, stopping here and there.

She stopped in front of a stall selling flower cakes. The stall owner was an old lady with gray hair and a face full of wrinkles.
