Chapter 15: I love studying

Chapter 15: I love studying

After distributing the textbooks, Jiang Xu gave some instructions and then school was dismissed.

The classroom was in chaos. Lin Zixia stood up and put some books that he might need in the next few days into his schoolbag. There was a week of military training ahead, and he would only have time to read when he got home at night.

Wu You and Li Senmiao stood aside waiting for Lu Xiangye, "Brother Lu, let's go and eat something!"

Lin Zixia packed her schoolbag and was about to go out, but Lu Xiangye was still sitting in his seat, blocking her way.

Only then did he slowly stand up.

Wu You glanced at Lin Zixia and said, "Sister Xia, come with us. We can go home together after dinner."

"Me?" Lin Zixia pinched the strap of her schoolbag. "My aunt should still be waiting for me at home...ah!"

Before she could finish her words, Lu Xiangye grabbed her schoolbag and quickly lifted her up, saying nonchalantly, "Let's go. Aunt Hui specifically asked me to take you to and from school today."

Lin Zixia was half-dragged forward a few steps by Lu Xiangye, like he was carrying a chicken.

Her eyes widened and she quickly took off the strap of her schoolbag before she could breathe a sigh of relief.

Lu Xiangye weighed the schoolbag in his hand and said with some disdain, "How many books did you put in it?"

As he spoke, he walked forward.

His shoulders suddenly felt relaxed. Lin Zixia looked up at Lu Xiangye, who had already walked several steps away.

The midday sun shone through the window onto him, as if a layer of faint golden light was surrounding him. His back was straight and unrestrained, and the surrounding tables, chairs, blackboards and classmates seemed to have become background boards at this moment. Only he was the protagonist, unrestrained and flamboyant, and even his back looked so handsome.

She was distracted for a moment.

Coming back to his senses, Lin Zixia followed him, still thinking about what he had just said.

My aunt asked him to take her to and from school, so he was waiting for me downstairs of the apartment building in the morning?

No wonder.

Everything makes sense.

But this person just can't speak properly, and often makes people confused.

Lin Zixia followed behind Lu Xiangye, while Wu You and Li Senmiao walked beside him.

"Sanshui, order whatever you want for lunch today. It's my treat. Consider it my apology to you!"

Li Senmiao shrugged and broke free from Wu You's hand on his shoulder. "You think treating me to a meal can make up for your mistake? I've lost face today."

On the first day of school, Wu You was stripped of his pants in front of the whole class. Li Senmiao wanted to stab him.

Lin Zixia listened to the conversation between the two and recalled the scene in the morning. She asked, "What happened this morning? I saw everyone was making a fuss."

Wu You swallowed and asked, "You don't know?"

Lin Zixia: "I didn't see it."

Li Senmiao grabbed Wu You's neck and gave him a look that said he would kill him if he dared to say anything.

Wu You quickly waved his hands, "Nothing, nothing."

Lin Zixia looked over in confusion. The warm summer wind ruffled the hair at her temples. The sunlight shone through the gaps in the leaves onto her face, and she seemed to be glowing.

Li Senmiao's face flushed red, as if something had hit his heart, and he began to stutter.

"Nothing, nothing, we were just joking."

Seeing this, Lin Zixia nodded and didn't ask any more questions.

A few people walked along Wutong Avenue on the side of the street. At this time, there were not many people on the street. A few of them talked and laughed, and the conversation was quite pleasant.

"Even turtles can crawl faster than you."

Lu Xiangye in front turned around, with a hint of impatience on his face.

Wu You pouted and said, "Oh, I forgot that this old man is most afraid of heat."

"Brother Lu is just around the corner ahead, and the air conditioning will be on soon."

Lu Xiangye didn't say anything, but he quickened his pace.

Lin Zixia raised his foot and quickly followed.

She was a little curious about the way he and Wu You got along. Lu Xiangye seemed to be in a dominant position, always having the upper hand. Wu You seemed to be the one coaxing him and enduring his bad temper, but Wu You didn't seem to be dissatisfied at all and even enjoyed it.

Can good friends really be so tolerant of each other?

Lin Zixia didn't know.

Ahead, a young man walked beneath a sycamore tree, his back casual and uninhibited, one hand in his pocket, the other holding Lin Zixia's schoolbag. His forearm bulged slightly from exertion, faint veins visible, a powerful presence.

Lin Zixia's pace kept getting faster and faster, and by the time he arrived at the store, a thin layer of sweat had already appeared on his forehead.

They went to a dry pot restaurant, located downstairs from a residential area. There were many small shops like this on both sides of the road.

I pushed the door open and went in. The air conditioner was on high. A cool breeze came over me and I felt like my pores were relaxed.

Several people found a place to sit down. Wu You handed the menu to Li Senmiao and waved his hand, "Sanshui, order whatever you want!"

At this moment, Wu You's phone vibrated. He raised his hand and replied, "Xu Wu and A Yan can't come, so it's just the four of us."

The shop was busy, so they moved to a small table for four. Wu You and Li Senmiao sat together, and Lin Zixia naturally sat next to Lu Xiangye.

"Sister Xiaoxia, do you want to eat anything?" Wu You asked.

Lin Zixia curled her lips and said, "I'm fine with anything. I'm not picky."

Li Senmiao handed over the menu, "Ladies first, Mr. Lin, you order first."

Lin Zixia was startled by Li Senmiao's serious tone, then laughed, "This is my first time in this restaurant, I don't know what's delicious. You guys order, I'm not picky about food."

"Okay."

Wu You and Li Senmiao bent down to study the menu. The waiter poured tea for them, and Lu Xiangye pushed the teacup to the back of Lin Zixia's hand.

"Thank you." Lin Zixia sat against the wall and thanked him.

The small shop in the residential area was not decorated so exquisitely. The stools at the four-person table were all long double-seat benches. Lin Zixia looked at the schoolbag next to Lu Xiangye and said softly, "Give me the schoolbag."

He is tall and has long legs, and his schoolbag takes up a lot of space.

Lu Xiangye didn't refuse and handed her the schoolbag, which Lin Zixia placed against the wall at her end.

"Are there bricks in the schoolbag?"

"Hmm?" Lin Zixia was puzzled, and listened to him continue, "Are you going home to work hard?"

Lu Xiangye's tone was only teasing, and Lin Zixia nodded calmly, "Yes."

No. 1 Middle School has a preliminary exam at the beginning of each school year, so she cannot relax for a moment.

"Tsk," Lu Xiangye said in an ambiguous tone, "You really like studying."

Lin Zixia did not refute. It was not that she loved studying, but she had no choice but to study, and studying was the only way.
