Chapter 61 Little Heartless

Chapter 61 Little Heartless

The next day, Lin Zixia got up a little later than usual.

When she went out, Lu Xiangye had already gotten up and looked much more energetic, as if the listless person from yesterday was not him.

Seeing her get up, Lu Xiangye raised his eyelids and looked over, "Wash up and have breakfast."

Lin Zixia: "Where's Grandma Lu?"

Lu Xiangye: "I went out for morning exercise."

Lin Zixia: "Oh."

After washing up and sitting at the table, Lu Xiangye pushed two bowls of wonton in front of her and asked, "Which one do you want?"

Lin Zixia looked down and saw a bowl of clear soup and a bowl of red oil.

"Can you eat red soup if you have a cold?"

Lin Zixia said this and pushed the bowl of clear soup to Lu Xiangye.

"Did you go out and buy it?"

Lu Xiangye said "hmm" and did not refuse.

Lin Zixia studied his expression and asked, "Looking at you, has the fever gone away?"

Lu Xiangye put the spoon into the bowl, and the porcelain made a crisp sound when it collided.

He leaned back on the chair, and looked at her with a smile in his dark eyes.

"Student Lin has taken good care of us, how dare we not retreat?"

He still hasn't forgotten how she looked last night, her little face wrinkled, standing by his bed with a worried look on her face, almost crying.

It turns out you care so much about yourself.

Lu Xiangye's lips curled up into a pleasant smile.

Lin Zixia avoided his gaze. His look was so deceptive, as if you were the only one he had eyes for.

But this is all an illusion. This person is just a scoundrel and has no integrity at all.

Lin Zixia stood up and took the thermometer from the medicine box. Lu Xiangye remained in his original position and waited for Lin Zixia to take his temperature.

Lin Zixia looked down and breathed a sigh of relief, "The fever is really gone."

Now you can't blame her, right?

She turned around and put the medicine box back to its original place, and Lu Xiangye looked at her sideways.

The little girl was thin and wore an apricot-colored hoodless sweatshirt. Her hair was loosely tied behind her head, with a few strands of hair falling down and resting on the back of her white neck.

Lu Xiangye moved his fingertips slightly, wanting to help her lift it up.

After putting the box down, Lin Zixia returned to the table, sat down, picked up a spoon and started eating the wontons.

She took a bite and the meat filling was delicious, but she didn't really want to eat the skin. She noticed Lu Xiangye looking at her from the corner of her eye and looked up. "Did you buy it from the store downstairs?"

"Um."

Lin Zixia lowered his head and continued eating, while Lu Xiangye was still looking at him.

She paused and looked at him, "Why are you looking at me?"

Lu Xiangye cleared his throat. "My throat is a little hoarse. Can you pour me a glass of water?"

Lin Zixia frowned, "Don't you have your own hands? They're right there."

Lu Xiangye: “…”

Wasn't she like this last night?

Lin Zixia: "Your cold is gone. If you want to drink, go ahead and pour it yourself."

After saying that, he continued to eat with his head down.

Lu Xiangye gritted his teeth and said, "Okay, very good."

He put the spoon into the bowl and said, "I don't want to eat anymore. I don't have much appetite."

Lin Zixia nodded, "Okay."

Lu Xiangye: ???

Shouldn't she persuade herself to eat a little or something else?

"I have to take medicine later. Should I take the medicine after dinner last night?"

Lin Zixia thought for a moment and said, "I gave you antipyretic medicine last night. Your fever is gone now, so you don't need to take that."

"I think there's something else in the medicine box. You can look for it yourself."

Lu Xiangye felt a lump in his heart. He was in a dilemma whether to go or not.

Sitting on the stool, his dark eyes stared at her.

Lin Zixia pretended not to notice and stood up to wash the dishes after finishing her meal. Lu Xiangye then stood up and took the bowl from her with his bony hands. "Give it to me."

Lin Zixia didn't let go, "No, I can do it myself."

Both of them held one side of the bowl in their hands, and neither of them showed any intention of letting go.

Lu Xiangye raised his eyelids and glanced at her. "Didn't you say I was already well? Why are you still competing with me to wash the dishes?"

Isn't he the one who usually washes it?

Lu Xiangye narrowed his eyes. Lin Zixia would fake a smile whenever he felt guilty. Guilty?

He looked down and saw pieces of white wonton wrappers underneath the red oil soup.

He laughed, "You only eat the filling and not the skin, right?"

"Are you afraid I'll criticize you?"

Lin Zixia paused, raised her head slightly, and looked at him with her dark and round almond-shaped eyes innocently. "Will you criticize me then?"

Lu Xiangye: "That's not necessarily true."

Lin Zixia let go and said, "Oh, I'm so scared."

He said he was afraid, but there was no sign of fear on his face.

Lu Xiangye snorted and raised his hand to knock on her forehead, "Little liar."

After saying that, he carried two bowls into the kitchen.

Lin Zixia looked at his slouched figure, raised his hand and rubbed his forehead, muttering softly, "I was discovered after all."

Lu Xiangye still had a cough, but the two of them kept it a secret from Grandma Lu because they were afraid she would worry.

Lin Zixia was doing homework in Lu Xiangye's room, while Lu Xiangye was reading extracurricular books beside him.

Lin Zixia: "Have you finished your homework?"

Lu Xiangye glanced over and said, "I'm still a patient, Lin Xiaoxia, you're too heartless."

There was a hint of accusation and grievance in his tone.

Lin Zixia tightened her grip on the pen. Lu Xiangye's voice was still a little hoarse, and the rustling sound vibrated her eardrums.

She pursed her lips, feeling a little uncomfortable, "Aren't you all right?"

Lu Xiangye leaned against the wall weakly. "The fever is gone, but the cold hasn't healed yet."

Lin Zixia: "Then take some medicine later."

Lu Xiangye raised his eyebrows, "You care about me so much?"

He supported himself with his hands and leaned towards Lin Zixia.

The burning body temperature came along his shoulders. Lin Zixia couldn't tell for a moment whether his temperature was high because he was sick or because boys tend to have higher temperatures.

Her eyelashes trembled, and she pretended to be calm and said, "After all, I am still living under someone else's roof, so of course I have to care about the landlord."

Living under someone else's roof?

Was he being mean to her or was he just giving her a cold shoulder?

He almost pampered her, but she still lived under someone else's roof.

Lu Xiangye reached out and pinched her cheek, his voice filled with anger, "You little heartless girl."

Some red marks were immediately left on Lin Zixia's fair cheeks.

Lu Xiangye frowned. He didn’t use any force?

Lin Zixia turned around and glared at him, "I told you not to pinch my face!"

But, it has no deterrent effect.

Lu Xiangye looked at her angry expression, twisted his fingers, and said in a nonchalant tone, "Oh~"
