Dangerous ride-hailing vehicles
The plane landed at Lijiang Sanyi Airport.
Sang Qi received a call from a ride-hailing driver as soon as she stepped out of the terminal.
This is a driver she booked online in advance from the airport to her hotel before arriving in Lijiang.
His name is Lu Min.
She answered the phone but didn't speak; instead, she chose to listen to the person on the other end.
A deep, slightly hoarse voice came from the other end of the phone: "I've arrived. When you exit the station, look to your left, and the first train is mine."
As soon as the phone rang, Sang Qi, who was already standing at the terminal exit, looked to his left.
A row of cars was parked to the left of the terminal exit. The first car was a black sedan, and a man was leaning lazily against the door, smoking and surrounded by wisps of smoke.
Sang Qi walked towards the man. The man frowned slightly when he saw that there was no response on the other end of the phone. He looked up and saw Sang Qi walking towards him with the phone to her ear.
The man stared intently at Sang Qi, noticing that she was wearing a white shirt, jeans, and a light khaki long coat, with her long hair flowing down her back.
At first glance, she appears beautiful and tall, but upon closer inspection, a hint of aloofness seems to emanate from her eyes and brows. As she walks, her coat and hair flutter in the wind behind her, adding to her dashing air.
The man looked at Sang Qi and unconsciously smiled. He casually hung up the phone, extinguished the cigarette he was holding between his fingers, and raised an eyebrow at Sang Qi.
After confirming that the man was indeed the driver Lu Min, Sang Qi put her phone back in her pocket and walked up to Lu Min.
Standing in front of Lu Min, Sang Qi finally saw his face clearly.
He has a neat and masculine buzz cut, thick black eyebrows, high brow bones that make his eye sockets look deep, a strong and well-defined facial contour, long arms and legs, broad shoulders and a narrow waist, and he exudes a cool and roguish charm.
This is the kind of roguish charm that many girls like, but Sang Qi doesn't really like this type of handsome guy.
"Beautiful lady, is this the car you booked?" Lu Min looked Sang Qi up and down with a half-smile, this time examining her closely.
Sang Qi looked away from him, gave a deep "hmm," and showed no emotion on her face.
Lu Min chuckled and said nothing more, then moved closer to Sang Qi.
Startled by this action, Sang Qi instinctively took two steps back. Just as she was about to reprimand him for staying away from her, she saw Lu Min lift Sang Qi's suitcase with one hand.
The man had muscular arms and effortlessly lifted a large suitcase full of luggage with one hand.
After Lu Min put the luggage in the trunk and slammed the door shut, he dusted off his hands, turned to Sang Qi, and gestured for her to get in the car.
Sang Qi composed herself, didn't respond, silently opened the car door, and sat in the back seat.
Lu Min got into the driver's seat, first glancing at Sang Qi through the rearview mirror, and only started the car after seeing that Sang Qi was settled.
………………
The car was traveling on the airport expressway leading into the city from the airport, at the maximum speed allowed on that section of the road.
Because the car was traveling on the highway, the windows were closed on all sides, making the interior of the car seats virtually airtight.
Lu Min was smoking, and his body emitted a faint smell of tobacco, which mixed with the smell of the leather interior of the car and was quite unpleasant.
At least make Sang Qi uncomfortable.
Sang Qi frowned slightly and turned her wrist over to her nose. The lingering scent of perfume remained on her wrist—a light, woody rose fragrance. The base notes slightly alleviated Sang Qi's discomfort.
"Are you here for tourism in Lijiang?" Lu Min suddenly spoke, glancing at Sang Qi in the rearview mirror.
Sang Qi absentmindedly hummed in agreement.
"one person?"
Sang Qi remained absent-minded and gave a very faint "hmm".
Sang Qi thought that only older drivers liked to make small talk when dropping off passengers, but she didn't expect that young drivers did the same.
At this moment, Lu Min, who was driving, had a rather intriguing expression.
Since he met Sang Qi, he hasn't heard Sang Qi say a single word.
He smiled unconsciously, glancing at Sang Qi in the rearview mirror every now and then, with an expression that said, "This woman is interesting."
Sang Qi was not unaware that Lu Min had been stealing glances at her; she could feel his shifty eyes out of the corner of her eye.
This made Sang Qi a little disgusted, but even so, she didn't show it on her face.
As the number of cars on the road gradually increased, the speed of the cars also decreased.
Lu Min looked up at the rearview mirror again, and this time he saw Sang Qi staring straight at it.
In a sense, they made eye contact.
This time, Sang Qi had a somber face and icy eyes.
She expressed her emotions.
Lu Min could sense the emotions Sang Qi was expressing, but he didn't take it seriously and maintained a smiling face.
Sang Qi thought this kind of person was a shameless hooligan, always with a sly look on their face.
In order to escape this person as soon as possible, Sang Qi checked the route on her phone.
The distance from Lijiang Sanyi Airport to the city center is nearly 30 kilometers, and we've only traveled halfway so far.
Sang Qi was somewhat frustrated.
Suddenly, music started playing; it was a cell phone ringing.
Sang Qi shuddered, startled.
Lu Min laughed out loud: "Scared?"
Lu Min's phone rang.
The question just now made Sang Qi look embarrassed and her expression was not good.
Seeing that Sang Qi ignored him, Lu Min didn't say anything more. He simply drove off and casually answered the phone.
He turned on the speakerphone because he was driving.
As soon as the speakerphone was turned on, a woman's shrill voice came through the phone: "Today is the last day. Have you thought it through? Transfer the money now, or you won't be able to get rid of the child."
Lu Min sneered coldly, "What does this have to do with me? I won't give you a single penny."
The woman cursed, "You're a fucking scumbag. Men are all the same, getting someone pregnant and then turning your backs on them."
"Bullshit." Lu Min said with disgust. "You know perfectly well whose child is in your belly."
The woman cried and wailed, "You don't even acknowledge your own child! How could you do this? It's your own flesh and blood!"
"Damn it, don't give me that crap. Your tears won't work on me. Don't call me again. We're breaking up."
After cursing viciously, Lu Min immediately hung up the phone.
Sang Qi, sitting in the back row, heard the whole thing. He unconsciously raised an eyebrow and his eyes turned extremely disgusted.
At first, Sang Qi only thought Lu Min was a playboy who liked to seduce women everywhere. But after that phone call, in Sang Qi's eyes, Lu Min was a complete scumbag, and a scumbag with vulgar language at that.
You should stay away from men like that.
Lu Min glanced at the rearview mirror again and saw Sang Qi leaning to one side with an indifferent expression, her forehead resting against the car window. He said, "If you're tired, take a nap. I'll wake you when we get there."
Sang Qi did not answer.
Lu Min guessed that Sang Qi wouldn't pay attention to him, so he didn't say anything more.
The airport expressway exit is at the next intersection.
With more vehicles exiting the airport expressway, Lu Min had to slow down again for driving safety.
As the car turned onto the city's main road, Lu Min accelerated.
Lu Min stepped on the gas and drove the car to the gas station before stopping. As he unbuckled his seatbelt, he said, "Let's fill up the tank."
Sang Qi's gaze remained indifferent, and he did not utter a word.
After Lu Min got out of the car, Sang Qi couldn't stand the smell and got out as well.
Sang Qi went outside for some fresh air and took a few deep breaths before she recovered.
Smoking is prohibited at gas stations, so Lu Min went to smoke somewhere further away.
He squatted under a city tree, puffing on his cigarette, glancing strangely to his left every now and then.
Autumn has arrived, and the weather in Lijiang has turned cool, but you can still feel a bit warm if you stand in the sun for too long.
Sang Qi stood in the sun for a while before hiding under a tree.
The gas station staff had already filled up the tank, but Lu Min was still smoking.
Sang Qi crossed her arms and quietly glanced at Lu Min.
Lu Min turned his head and saw Sang Qi glaring at him with a dark expression. He realized what was happening, quickly stubbed out his cigarette, and walked back.
Sang Qi returned to the car, and Lu Min also got back into the driver's seat.
"Sorry for the delay." Lu Min, who had just finished smoking, reeked of tobacco.
As soon as the car started moving, Sang Qi opened the window.
With the car windows wide open, a cool breeze rushed in as the car started moving, hitting Sang Qi's face directly. After a while, her cheeks felt cold and numb.
When Lu Min saw that Sang Qi had opened the window to let in some fresh air, he roughly guessed that she was annoyed by the smell of smoke on her body. He just smiled and then raised the window on Sang Qi's side.
The car window rolled up, and Sang Qi frowned, turning to look at him.
Lu Min rolled up the car window on Sang Qi's side and rolled down the window next to Sang Qi.
"Don't blow the wind directly on your face, or you'll catch a cold," Lu Min said.
"..."
"Tsk." Lu Min looked at the rearview mirror next to the car, his eyebrows furrowed, and he said to himself, "How interesting, they've been following us all this way."
As Lu Min exited the airport expressway, he noticed a black sedan following him.
They parked on the side of the road when they stopped to refuel at the gas station. Lu Min saw this while smoking near the gas station.
Lu Min couldn't figure out who those people were after for a moment, but the immediate thing to do was to shake them off.
Just then, I saw him floor the gas pedal, and the car sped away.
The speed suddenly increased, startling Sang Qi.
"Hold on tight." Lu Min's previous frivolous demeanor had vanished, replaced by a serious and earnest expression.
Sang Qixin was surprised and couldn't help but take out her phone to see how much further it was before she reached the hotel.
When I checked my phone, I found that I had deviated from the route.
Sang Qi's heart sank, and she couldn't help but think of the news about girls being murdered in ride-hailing services.
She didn't panic, but calmly asked, "Where are you going?"
“You finally spoke,” Lu Min said with a smile.
He was actually joking with me!
Sang Qi found this person unbelievable. She calmed herself down and asked again, "Where are we going now? You've gone off course!"
As soon as Sang Qi finished speaking, the car made a sharp turn, and Sang Qi was thrown to one side due to inertia.
Lu Min was driving fast with complete concentration, his eyes constantly glued to the car in the rearview mirror, completely ignoring Sang Qi.
Sang Qi straightened up, but then the car made another sharp turn. Sang Qi quickly grabbed the handle on the roof to steady himself.
"Where exactly do you want to take me?" Sang Qi demanded shrilly. "I'm calling the police!"
Lu Min ignored him and continued driving.
Sang Qi picked up her phone to call the police, but a wave of nausea rose in her throat.
Just now, the car sped along the winding mountain road like the wind, and she was jolted so hard that her internal organs felt like they were churning and churning, and a strong feeling of nausea made her want to vomit.
Sang Qi endured it, shrinking uncomfortably in the back seat.
At this moment, the view outside the window was no longer a city street scene, but a dense jungle, and the road had become winding and tortuous.
Looking out the window, Sang Qi knew that he was no longer in the city center, but probably in the suburbs.
After several sharp bends in the mountain road, Lu Min drove into the forest, completely shaking off the car that was following closely behind.
When Lu Min saw that there were no more cars following him in the rearview mirror, the corners of his mouth unconsciously curved up.
He drove through the mountain roads, slowing down only when the surroundings were open, and finally stopped the car in a wide-open flat area.
As soon as the car stopped, Sang Qi immediately opened the door and jumped out.
She rushed to the tree, bent over and retched, holding onto the trunk, and vomited for a while before stopping.
Lu Min got out of the car, squinted at Sang Qi who was vomiting uncomfortably, and asked with concern, "Are you alright?"
Sang Qi remained silent for a while before recovering. She went back to the car, grabbed a bottle of mineral water from her bag, rinsed her mouth, and then wiped her mouth with a tissue.
After a while, Sang Qi looked up at Lu Min and said coldly, "What do you mean by bringing me here? I can call the police at any time."
Sang Qi took out her phone.
Lu Min didn't speak, stared at Sang Qi, whose gaze was cold and indignant, for a while, then raised his face: "Get in the car, I'll take you back."
Sang Qi was a little confused and couldn't help but think to himself, "Is this guy crazy?"
"Get in the car." Lu Min opened the back door, held onto it, and waited for Sang Qi to get in.
Sang Qi didn't want to argue with Lu Min any further. All she wanted to do was go back to the hotel and end the ride-hailing transaction with Lu Min as soon as possible.
Sang Qi got into the car and sat down. Lu Min helped her close the car door, then got in himself and used the navigation again to take Sang Qi back to the hotel.
On the way from the mountain road to the city hotel, Lu Min took care of Sang Qi, who had just experienced discomfort, and drove at a normal speed, even deliberately slowing down.
After an hour and a half drive, the car stopped in front of the hotel.
Sang Qi grabbed the car, got out, closed the door, and turned to leave without even glancing at Lu Min.
Suddenly, a piercing car horn sounded from behind.
Sang Qi turned around, and Lu Min got out of the car, lit a cigarette, took a puff, and leisurely exhaled the smoke: "Sorry about what happened today. If you want to give me a bad review, go ahead."
Sang Qi looked at Lu Min through the thin wisps of smoke, but said nothing.
When the smoke dissipated, Sang Qi had already left.
Lu Min stared at the hotel entrance and smacked his lips with a smile.
He silently finished his cigarette, turned around and threw the cigarette butt into the trash can next to him. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of several men in black who had been loitering not far away.
Lu Min smiled and murmured, "This young lady must have offended someone, otherwise she wouldn't be like this."
After saying that, he got back into his car and drove away.
