Little Forest
The village wedding lasted for several days in a lively atmosphere. It wasn't until today, when the groom, Yanfeng, and his bride carried cold rice noodles back to the groom's house to meet relatives and exchange gifts, that the wedding was considered complete.
Even after the wedding, everyone was still immersed in joy.
That evening after dinner, Sang Qi sat alone under the banana tree in front of the bamboo house to cool off. After sitting for a while, he began to daydream.
The moonlight was soft and gentle, casting its clear glow over the entire mountain forest and village, creating a pale silvery light as far as the eye could see.
Lu Min came out of the bamboo house to smoke a cigarette. Just as he lit the cigarette, he saw Sang Qi in the courtyard, looking sad and dejected.
He frowned slightly, took a drag on his cigarette, and walked toward Sang Qi.
Sang Qi, with her keen hearing, heard the sound of footsteps crunching on fallen leaves and turned around.
What are you spacing out for?
Lu Min sat down next to Sang Sang, puffing out smoke.
Smoke billowed around, and the smell was pungent.
Sang Qi covered her nose with her hand: "You should smoke less, the smell is too strong!"
Lu Min smiled and said, "You're disgusted with me?"
Sang Qi pursed her lips: "You know perfectly well why I'm asking."
"So what if you dislike me..." Lu Min said to himself, lazily smoking a cigarette, but his gaze lingered on Sang Qi.
Sang Qi didn't respond, and stared at the moonlight for a long time.
"What's wrong? You seem down today." After finishing his cigarette, Lu Min asked about Sang Qi's mood.
Sang Qi seemed listless during dinner tonight and didn't eat much. Now she's here alone, wallowing in self-pity.
"What are you thinking about, hmm?" Lu Min asked.
Sang Qi sighed and said, "I wonder how long these peaceful days can last?"
At this point, Lu Min's expression changed slightly.
“We’ve been hiding all the way here, and now we’re living a simple and happy life. But I know this won’t last. We still have to leave, right?”
Lu Min's gaze darkened, and his expression became somewhat solemn.
Sang Qi could tell from Lu Min's eyes that he actually didn't know what to do next.
In fact, they have been dealing with things as they come along, without any major planning.
"Don't worry," Lu Min suddenly looked up at Sang Qi and smiled, "We'll leave once things calm down, and I'll take you back to Nanjing."
Sang Qi still looked bewildered: "Is it okay? Will anything happen?"
A sense of unease always seemed to grow within her for no apparent reason.
"Fool, what could possibly happen? Besides, I'm here. How could I let anything happen to you?" Lu Min said, raising his head.
Sang Qi stared at him steadily, her composure restored: "I believe you."
…………
Lu Min's words were like a reassurance to Sang Qi, easing her anxiety slightly.
Linna was quick-witted. She saw through Sang Qi's worries and said to him, "It's a waste to worry about things that haven't happened yet. Since we know that the peaceful days in this mountain village are numbered, we should cherish this peace instead of worrying about it."
Upon hearing this, Sang Qi felt instantly relieved.
There may be many changes in the future, but at least there aren't any. Living happily in the present is the most important thing.
"Cheer up! Tomorrow is Yanqi's birthday, and we're going to celebrate with him. We can't be all gloomy then," Linna said.
Sangsang grinned: "Of course."
Seeing Sang Qi's cheerful mood, Lu Min couldn't help but smile.
As long as she's happy.
This was his wish.
...
On the night of Yanqi's birthday, Yanfeng personally prepared a large table of dishes and enjoyed drinks with everyone.
As dusk fell, the men inside the bamboo house were busy cooking, while the women chatted and enjoyed the breeze by the bamboo groves below.
Yanfeng's wife is named Xiaoli. She is approachable and had already become familiar with Sang Qilinna in the days leading up to their wedding. The three of them were like sisters, chatting and laughing together.
At that time, the three of them sat side by side under the phoenix tail bamboo, occasionally letting out silvery laughter, feeling very comfortable.
Xiaoli was sharing her love story with Yanfeng when she suddenly blushed and stopped talking.
Sang Qi was eager to know what happened next, so he pressed her, "And then? What happened?"
Just as he finished speaking, a cell phone rang, quite abruptly.
It's Sang Qi's phone.
"Excuse me, I need to take this call." Sang Qi got up and walked away to answer the phone.
The person who made the call was one of Sang Qi's senior classmates.
Last time, Sang Qi took a picture of something that looked like a technological chip from Yin Ya and sent it to her senior for research. Now her senior has figured it out.
“Sang Qi, this is indeed a chip, a high-tech positioning and tracking chip that can be implanted in the human body. I have a friend who researches this area.”
When Sang Qi heard her senior say it was location tracking, her heart seemed to stop abruptly, and fear quickly spread through her.
Without saying a word, Sang Qi hung up the phone and rushed back to the bamboo house, panting as he said, "Qian Kunpeng knows where we are!"
Everyone was stunned when Sang Qi spoke.
"The thing we took out from Silver Tooth was a tracking chip. We have the chip in our hands now, and Qian Kunpeng will definitely come after us."
Sang Qi was panting heavily as he explained after rushing back.
Upon hearing this, Lu Min's expression stiffened, becoming frighteningly gloomy, while Yin Ya was filled with worry. Zaxi and Yan Qi exchanged glances, and Yan Feng looked utterly disapproving.
Sang Qi glanced around at the crowd before him, only to find them all silent. Anxious, he asked, "What do we do now? We can't just sit here and wait to die!"
“Let’s leave now, leave immediately.” Lu Min’s eyes sharpened, and he made a decisive decision.
leave?
Sang Qi stared blankly at Lu Min: "Where can we go?"
Lu Min pondered for a moment and said, "We will split our forces into two groups."
"Splitting into two groups?" Sang Qi asked.
“Okay.” Lu Min nodded. “Now that Qian Kunpeng can track us with his location, we’ll split into two groups. Qian Ya and I will leave first with the location chip to lure Qian Kunpeng’s men to track us. As for you, Lin Na and Zaxi will help me send Sang Qi back to Nanjing. Then you can all go back to your inns and pretend nothing happened.”
Sang Qi shook his head: "If that's the case, you and Silver Tooth will be in danger."
Zaxi also said, "Yes, this is very dangerous for you. If something happens, you and Yinya will both fall into Qian Ganpeng's hands."
Lu Min smiled and said confidently, "After Silver Tooth and I distract Qian Kunpeng with the chip, I will destroy the chip halfway through once you are safely away. At that time, Qian Kunpeng will lose his tracking trail and will have no way to catch us."
“But…” Sang Qi hesitated, still worried, feeling that things wouldn’t go as smoothly as Lu Min had said.
"Trust me, okay?" Lu Min pinched Sang Qi's face.
Looking at Sang Qi, who was frowning and worried, Lu Min felt incredibly tender and even felt reluctant to part with her.
He used to be decisive and direct in his actions, never as preoccupied as he is now, unable to let go of or bear to part with someone.
It was a little funny to think about it. It seemed that he was completely under Sang Qi's thumb. Thinking of this, he couldn't help but laugh at himself.
"Do you all think this is okay?" Lu Min stopped thinking about matters of the heart and asked his companions for their opinions.
Silver Fang thought for a moment and said, "This is the only way that will work now, and I don't mind."
Lin Na nodded in agreement: "I agree with what Lu Min said. If we all escape together and get caught, we will all be wiped out. So splitting into two groups to divert attention and allow the other group to escape safely is the best way to prevent the worst outcome."
Zaxi wanted to retort, but after thinking for a moment, he fell silent.
Seeing that no one was saying anything, Lu Min figured the matter was settled.
He looked at Sang Qi beside him and saw that she was still worried.
"Don't worry!" Lu Min said.
Seeing that everyone had made this decision, including Lu Min, Sang Qi couldn't say anything more and could only silently agree.
After deciding on the escape plan, everyone quickly went back to pack their belongings.
Half an hour later, the two groups set off in their cars.
Before leaving, Sang Qi hugged Lu Min and said, "You must come back safely. If you have the chance, come to Nanjing to see me. I'll treat you to a meal."
Lu Min nodded and hugged Sang Qi back: "I know, I'll be fine."
"Okay, have a safe journey."
"good."
After a brief farewell, the two cars drove off in different directions.
As Sang Qi watched Lu Min's car drive further and further away, she suddenly felt her eyes fogged up with tears, her eyes welled up with moisture, and all she could see were overlapping blurry images.
"It's alright, trust Lu Min." Lin Na, sitting in the passenger seat, turned around to comfort Sang Qi.
Sang Qi remained turned to look out the car window for a long time before finally sitting up straight.
She sniffed and forced a smile: "I know, I'm fine."
As the car drove out of the mountains and forests, the bumpy road gradually became smoother, and the speed of the car increased accordingly.
Sang Qi drifted off to sleep in the car.
In a state between sleep and wakefulness, she saw Lu Min.
He lay on the ground covered in blood, his entire body riddled with wounds, as if he had been soaked in blood.
Upon seeing this, Sang Qi suddenly woke up from his dream.
Her movements were too sudden, and Linna turned around: "What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?"
"fine……"
Sang Qi was covered in sweat and his eyes were unfocused.
"Don't worry so much, it's okay!" Linna comforted her.
Sang Qifa was stunned, not having heard Lin Na's words clearly, and only asked, "Where are Lu Min and the others? Have they shaken off Qian Ganpeng's men?"
At this point, Linna glanced at her watch and hesitated, "They should have gotten rid of it by now..."
As soon as he finished speaking, a motorcycle sped past the car window, as fast as a black shadow.
Sang Qi was startled and before he could react, he heard Zaxi scream and then turn the steering wheel.
Just seconds before, the speeding motorcycle overtook them, scattering steel nails. As Zaxi drove forward, the nails punctured his tires.
At that moment, the car veered to one side, broke through the guardrail on the shoulder, and rolled down the hillside.
Inside the car, Sang Qi felt everything around her spinning, her head spinning as if it had been churned in a blender, and finally, she felt intense pain throughout her body. Sang Qi thought she had died at that moment.
A loud crash came from the bottom of the hillside, and the car crashed down the hillside.
The man in black on the motorcycle quickly slid down the hillside, and the motorcycle was completely wrecked, with smoke billowing from the front.
The man opened the back door and saw Sang Qi, her face covered in blood, slumped out of the car, unconscious.
Seeing this, the man dragged Sang Qi out of the car, hoisted her onto his shoulder, and drove away.
…………
Two hours ago.
After leaving the village, Lu Min sped all the way.
As soon as we left the woods, we saw several unidentified black cars chasing after us.
Silver Teeth, sitting in the passenger seat, glanced at the rearview mirror and his expression changed drastically: "My god, they caught up so quickly?"
Lu Min chuckled.
It turned out that Qian Ganpeng had located them long ago through the positioning chip, so he had been lying in ambush outside the village. As soon as the positioning chip moved, they would track the chip's location and launch an attack.
The tracking chip is on them now, and Qian Ganpeng's men are probably tracking them with all their might. Sang Qi should be fine.
Thinking of this, Lu Min breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Sang Qi was alright, that was all that mattered!
"Bang bang bang!"
Suddenly, several deafening gunshots rang out, and the rear window of the car was covered with cracks.
"Damn, they opened fire." Silver Fang looked in the rearview mirror and saw the passenger in the car chasing them lean out, holding a gun and firing at their car.
At that moment, Lu Min's entire body was on high alert, and his forehead was covered in sweat.
He sped up, changing lanes left and right, just to dodge the bullets.
After a series of gunshots, the vehicles behind stopped firing.
Lu Min felt something was off. He glanced at the rearview mirror and realized that the person who had been following him was gone.
Silver Fang asked in surprise, "We've shaken them off?"
"Don't let your guard down!" Lu Min still dared not relax his vigilance.
The car, riddled with bullet holes, sped along the highway and eventually came to a stop at a mountain pass, surrounded by lush trees that formed a natural barrier.
After stopping the car, Lu Min lowered the window and gazed at the deep, lush valley entrance, seemingly deep in thought.
Silver Fang looked around and asked, "Brother Min, is it safe here?"
"Probably."
"Was that tracking chip destroyed? Otherwise, they would have caught up with us."
Lu Min smiled and said, "We threw it away half an hour ago. We lured Qian Ganpeng's men away. Sang Qi should be safe now. The chip is destroyed. As long as we can successfully buy tickets to Nanjing, everything will be easy."
"So, should we go down the mountain into the city to buy train tickets now?"
"Yes, but we still need to be careful." After saying that, Lu Min started the car again.
Lu Min didn't slow down at all on the way down the mountain, and drove straight to the city.
