☆126. Chapter 126: Eating Jail Food

Chapter 126: Eating Jail Food

After taking a shower, Chen Ao looked at Chu Qiao's slovenly appearance and said disdainfully, "Don't blame the security guard for stopping you. It's really too rude."

Chu Qiao was helpless: "Sister Ao, next time I will go to a place with hot springs to survive, and try to soak in the hot springs and take a bath every day."

Chen Ao rolled his eyes and said, "Stop talking nonsense and go wash up."

Chu Qiao didn't move, pulling at his clothes and sniffing: "I can't go."

Chen Ao: "Why, don't you find it smelly?"

Chu Qiao: "I have to go to the police station tomorrow to get Wang Wei to tell me what he is talking about. I am so wet and want to burst into tears. The flaws are too obvious."

Chen Ao was stunned. She didn't think so much.

The next day the forest police station was brightly lit.

Chu Qiao followed a male police officer and put on the orange vest worn for detention.

The male police officer deliberately raised his voice: "Hurry up and leave. What are you wasting time on?"

When passing a room, the male policeman deliberately paused. Chu Qiao looked at the man in the detention room whom he had met that day.

When Chu Qiao looked at the man, the man also saw her, and the two of them looked at each other.

Chu Qiao was locked in a room with only a door and a small window.

She lay on the hard bed in the detention room. The soft bed in the five-star hotel yesterday did not allow her to sleep well, but she felt sleepy on Chu Qiao's hard bed.

When I woke up, it was already noon and all the detainees were taken out for lunch.

The three meals a day were her only chance to see Wang Wei as a man.

Chu Qiao was limping and walking slower and slower. Wang Wei quickly caught up with her and gently bumped into her shoulder.

Chu Qiao pretended to be surprised.

"How did you... get..."

Before he could finish his words, Wang Wei interrupted him.

"Why did you just come in? Wasn't I arrested with you?"

Chu Qiao's pupils shrank and her eyes narrowed, remembering that the man had deliberately bumped into her yesterday.

He avoided the main point and asked, "Were you arrested with me yesterday? I was wearing a hood and couldn't see anything. Weren't you wearing a hood?"

Wang Wei: “Yes.”

Chu Qiao: "Then how do you know it's me?"

"That day, as soon as I approached you, I knew it was you. You smelled like herbs."

Chu Qiao was secretly surprised. For a long time, Chu Qiao had been using a kind of herbal sulfur soap. He always had a herbal smell on his body, and even his sweat had this smell. In addition, when he went out, he had to apply various herbs, so he had a herbal smell on his body.

But not everyone has the ability to remember a person's taste.

"You're amazing. You can even smell that."

After being praised, the man raised his chin and a proud expression appeared on his face.

Chu Qiao took the opportunity to say, "By the way, I was locked in another room yesterday and was interrogated all night. I didn't give you away. I said I didn't know you."

Wang Wei: "I was wondering why I didn't see you. These policemen are really inhumane. They're trying to defeat us one by one."

After saying that, Wang Wei's eyes turned and he asked, "Who are you working for? How dare you go up the snowy mountain alone?"

Chu Qiao: "I just started doing it myself, and I haven't found the trick yet."

"Hurry up, it's time for food, it's time for food." A police officer urged by knocking on the basin.

Wang Wei pointed to an empty seat nearby and Chu Qiao nodded.

Chu Qiao sat down opposite Wang Wei with his meal in hand, and while tucking into it, he said, "You know a lot of people. When we get out, help me find someone reliable. I'll just follow you and have some soup."

Wang Wei was stunned: "Didn't you say you were working for others?"

Chu Qiao looked calm, but secretly thought in his heart that if he told a lie, he would have to use a hundred lies to cover it up, and he must not leave too many loopholes so that this man would see through it.

Chu Qiao waved his hand: "I'm just trying to appease that bearded man."

Chu Qiao didn't ask any more questions. It was only the first day, and she was afraid that asking too many questions would arouse suspicion.

After finishing the meal, Chu Qiao had just washed the dishes and put them in the agreed large box when he saw two police officers walking over and facing Chu Qiao and Wang Wei.

"You, and you, come out."

Chu Qiao and Wang Wei looked at each other as if they had reached some kind of confidentiality agreement.

The two were taken away separately.

As soon as he entered the interrogation room, Chu Qiao immediately relaxed and sat down on the chair of the person being interrogated.

Chu spread his hands: "Ask."

Lao Bei smiled lightly and picked up the freshly brewed Pu'er tea and handed it to Chu Qiao. Chu Qiao shook his head: "That guy has a very sensitive nose. I won't drink it. Just give me a glass of plain water."

The young police officer next to him looked at Chu Qiao curiously.

Lao Bei didn't waste any words: "Did you find anything?"

Chu Qiao shook his head: "Not so fast, I can't let him get suspicious."

Lao Bei nodded. "I'll bring you two out once a day. Please try to speed up the process. I'm afraid some gangs will get the news and go into hiding."

As he spoke, Lao Bei turned on the screen beside him, which showed the interrogation of Wang Wei.

"Do you know this woman?"

A young police officer pointed at Chu Qiao's photo.

Wang Wei said without thinking: "I don't know him."

The young police officer slammed the table and shouted, "You don't recognize her? We found traces of her coming down the mountain. You clearly came down from the same hill. You don't recognize her?"

Wang Wei was a seasoned veteran and wasn't intimidated by the officer's aura. "Officer, I told you I was just a guide. Some people were trying to go up the mountain, and I happened to be passing by. I simply led them up. We only realized they were poachers after we got there. Later, this woman came up on her own. I don't even know her name."

The police officer sneered: "So you've seen her before. How can you say you don't know her?"

Wang Wei: "If you've met someone before, that's called knowing them. Then I know a lot of people."

"Stop quibbling and answer me properly."

The officer took a breath and continued, "Tell me what this woman did after she went up the mountain?"

Wang Wei: "She? She had a conflict with a foreigner and jumped off a cliff."

The police officer continued to press: "What is the conflict? Tell me clearly."

Wang Wei didn't know how to answer and hesitated.

The police officer deliberately urged: "Hurry up and tell me, what's the conflict?"

Wang Wei coughed to hide his panic, and then slowly spoke: "What else could a quarrel between two women be? Jealousy over a man's favor."

Chu Qiao shook his head and said seriously, "Coughing is not a good trick. It only makes things worse."

Lao Bei stroked his chin and said, "Even after being interrogated like this, you still refuse to confess. At least he doesn't suspect you. This guy has been making excuses for you."

Chu Qiao took a sip of water and waved his hand: "It's still a long way to go."

The two were sent back to the detention room separately.

Next time we meet again.

Wang Wei stared at Chu Qiao for a long time, then suddenly said, "Why don't you look nervous at all?"

Chu Qiao looked relaxed: "Why should I be nervous? When they found me, I had tied up the bearded man. I only had a small knife on me, no deadly weapons."

Wang Wei: "But there's a snow leopard hiding in you."

Chu Qiao whispered in Wang Wei's ear, "I told them I was the one who saved the little snow leopard. Instead of giving me a banner, they locked me up as if I were a criminal suspect. Do you think this makes sense?"

Wang Wei's eyes widened.
