☆20. Chapter 20: Landing

Chapter 20: Landing

After the three of them boarded the boat, the couple whispered to each other, "Let's go back and hand her over to the village chief and let him deal with her."

"Well, you decide."

The small fishing boat was in a dilapidated state. Except for the steering wheel where you could put your feet, the rest of the place was filled with fishing nets.

Chu Qiao couldn't care less about many things at this moment. The most important thing was to complete the task on time.

She opened it and asked, "Brother, when will we arrive on the island?"

The tall man glanced at Chu Qiao without saying a word.

The eldest sister was a little silly and scratched her head: "Around 12 o'clock."

Chu Qiao's scalp throbbed. Was it before or after 12 o'clock? He asked tentatively, "Can it be earlier? My hand is injured, and I want to go ashore early to deal with it."

As Chu Qiao spoke, he pulled off the seaweed that had wrapped his hand to show his elder sister. The seaweed was stuck to the flesh, and when Chu Qiao pulled it hard, the wound opened even bigger.

"tear--"

The eldest sister glanced at her eldest brother, opened her mouth slightly, and then closed it again, still not giving Chu Qiao time to prepare.

She walked to the stern of the cabin and pulled out a brown bottle covered with a layer of dust from a rusty drawer.

She wiped it silently with her sleeve, then handed it to Chu Qiao: "We don't have any bandages here, you can use this for now."

Chu Qiao took it. The yellowed sticker on the medicine bottle fell off when he touched it. Chu Qiao picked it up and carefully read the words on it:

Production Date: February 2096

Shelf life: one year

She rolled her eyes and realized that it was now 2099.

An antique medicinal powder that has expired for three years is not something simple.

Chu Qiao: "Don't you usually use it?"

The eldest sister scratched her strands of hair in embarrassment: "People who go to sea have thick skin. The village chief told us to save it."

The live broadcast room was in chaos:

"This village is so poor, this medicine is almost growing mold."

"Master Chu, you can't use expired medicine carelessly."

"I'm a little worried that Mr. Chu has gotten on board a pirate ship."

Mr. Chu has no shortcomings, except for one: he is very brave.

She unscrewed the bottle, put it to her nose and smelled it. The brown powder was very dry and had no smell of mold. The words "Bai Yao" were written on the instructions.

It's basically the same as the hemostatic medicine on Mars.

Chu Qiao poured the medicine into the palm of his hand. The powder instantly absorbed the blood and pus, turning into a lump that stuck to Chu Qiao's palm.

The effect was much better than expected. Chu Qiao said to the elder sister seriously: "Thank you, I feel much better."

The eldest sister was still a little embarrassed: "As long as it's useful."

Chu Qiao smiled, opened the window, and shoveled the clumped powder into the sea.

When Dabai outside the window saw Chu Qiao, he flapped his wings even harder and made noises from time to time.

Chu Qiao frowned. Although Dabai's foot injury had healed, he still stumbled every time he landed, not as nimble as other albatrosses. If Dabai returned to nature, to his tribe, would he be discriminated against?

"Is this silly bird yours?"

The eldest brother suddenly pointed at Dabai outside and spoke for the first time.

Is it or isn't it? Chu Qiao thought about this question and thought, it shouldn't be considered as such. It can only be said that they are friends in need.

Before Chu Qiao could answer, the elder brother said dismissively: "Why don't you raise something else? Why raise a stupid big bird?"

"Is it stupid?" Dabai is quite smart and can understand almost all of Chu Qiao's instructions.

The eldest sister continued: "Silly, of course not. There was a brother in our village who raised two of them. They had a big appetite and couldn't even handle 10 fish a day."

Chu Qiao: "Albatrosses are big because they eat a lot."

"It's called an albatross? We all called it a silly big bird. Later, we couldn't afford to keep it, so we didn't feed it fish and let it catch fish for itself. It ended up picking up garbage from the sea and the beach every day to eat. It died after a few days. When we opened its stomach, we saw it was full of garbage."

Chu Qiao thought of the energy-depleted planet he once lived on. Humans dumped garbage everywhere, causing ecological damage. The albatross also died from eating garbage and eventually became extinct.

"Sister, it's not the birds' fault that they eat garbage. It's the problem of the unlimited production of marine debris."

"Eh..." The elder sister sneered at Chu Qiao's words: "On our deserted little island, where else should we throw our garbage if not into the sea?"

Chu Qiao fell into deep thought. What his elder sister said made sense.

"Are you going to bring the silly bird ashore?"

Chu Qiao walked to the bow of the boat, and the big white flying bird came closer.

"It's injured, and I guess it can't be released back into the wild."

The eldest sister said worriedly, "Then you better be prepared. The village doesn't welcome such a big fool. If it were a fishing eagle, everyone would be vying for it."

Chu Qiao stretched out her hand, and Dabai landed on her arm.

"Baymax, are you sure you want to go with me?"

Dabai was still flapping his wings desperately, his expression remained unchanged.

"We're almost there," the eldest brother said as he steered the fishing boat, making a 90-degree turn and heading towards the island.

Chu Qiao looked ahead. A waning moon hung high in the sky, and the rising island grew larger and larger. The night enveloped the entire village. Lights dotted the village, and faint wisps of smoke could be seen.

The eldest brother pressed a red button without knowing it, and suddenly the whistle of the small fishing boat sounded.

The eldest brother took out his cell phone, which had a weak signal, and called back and forth several times before finally getting through: "Hey, village chief, please come out for a moment. We caught a woman, and we don't know where she came from."

"In bed? You have to get up even if you're in bed. I haven't collected the fishing nets for today yet."

After saying that, he hung up the phone angrily.

The fishing boat approached the shore, and the hull was shaking. Chu Qiao stepped out of the cabin and jumped into the air two meters away from the shore. He jumped directly onto the beach and stumbled.

"Master Chu is anxious."

"Master Chu is already eager to return home."

"Why did Mr. Chu from Niu Bo become weak as soon as he got ashore?"

Chu Qiao whispered, "Don't copy me. I'm in a hurry to complete the mission. If you're at sea for a long time, you still have to adapt to the land before getting off the ship."

Before Chu Qiao could finish, his elder brother suddenly shouted, "Oh no! This woman is trying to run away! Catch her!"

The two of them hurriedly approached Chu Qiao, only to see Dabai spread its wings, which were more than one meter long, and glided down next to Chu Qiao.

"Ah——" a sharp cry rang out.

The two were startled and looked at each other, but neither dared to take action.

"Dabai, don't be like this. Be polite." Chu Qiao touched Dabai's wings, motioning her to fold them up. He quickly turned around and said to the couple:

"Brother and sister, I really won't run away." I'm just in a hurry to finish the task, and I can't tell you this.

The two were half-believing and half-doubting, but were also afraid that Dabai would fan them with his big wings, so they stood half a meter away from Chu Qiao, one on the left and one on the right, like two door gods.

At this moment, a "beep" sound rang in my head.

System: "Congratulations, host, for arriving at Kyushu Island and successfully completing this sea survival mission. You will receive all your memories, 20,000 gold coins, and a set of outdoor clothing. Please confirm your gift package as soon as possible."

Chu Qiao finally breathed a sigh of relief and caught up.

The boat swayed in the waves, and Chu Qiao felt relieved. He had finally passed the first hurdle of coming to this world.
