White Wolf stared intently at Lu Fan as he approached, his body lowering further, like a fully drawn bow ready to be released, the warning growling louder from his throat.
The voice seemed to carry a tangible threat, clearly conveying: "Don't come any closer, or I'll really attack!"
But Lu Fan was determined to befriend the White Wolf, so he continued to move forward slowly, a gentle smile on his face, trying to open the White Wolf's heart with his sincerity.
Just as Lu Fan was about four or five meters away from the white wolf, it seemed as if an emergency safety switch had been triggered in the white wolf's body. It instantly turned its head and ran away at full speed.
It moved as fast as a gust of wind, disappearing into the depths of the valley in the blink of an eye, leaving only a trail of dust in its wake, a testament to its frantic escape.
Lu Fan stared in the direction where the white wolf had disappeared, shook his head helplessly, and smiled wryly at himself, saying, "It's true that you can't rush things. That white wolf was too vigilant. It seems I was too reckless."
Seeing that the white wolf had run away, Dahei barked twice at Lu Fan in a hurry. The bark was full of complaints, as if accusing him: "It's all your fault, you scared away my goddess!"
After calling out, it picked up the jerky on the ground that the white wolf hadn't even glanced at, and chased after it like an arrow released from a bow, even faster than when it was running happily before.
An Lan watched Dahei's departing figure and couldn't help but laugh out loud, teasing, "Dahei has completely fallen in love this time. He doesn't even care about us anymore; his heart is full of his white wolf goddess."
The three of them stood there, looking in the direction where Big Black had disappeared, feeling both amused and somewhat helpless.
Lu Fan shook his head and laughed, "Now we're all counting on Big Black. I wonder if this little guy can 'lure' White Wolf back."
Upon hearing this, An Lan laughed and teased, "You're already eagerly hoping your son will go after that girl. You're just like a grandfather who wants to hold his 'wolf grandson'."
"Hehe, then you're the Big Bad Wolf."
Ling Yue: ...How about I leave?
After resting for a while, Ling Yue stood up, dusted himself off, and suggested with a serious expression, "There might be some good stuff hidden around here. Let's search around and maybe we'll find something unexpected."
After saying that, he strode ahead like a seasoned hunter, his steps steady and powerful, taking the lead in exploring one side of the valley.
Lu Fan and An Lan exchanged a glance, their eyes sparkling with excitement, and began to explore their surroundings with great enthusiasm.
As he searched, Lu Fan's eyes widened instantly, as if he had discovered a rare treasure.
Pangolin discovered
He immediately shouted at the top of his lungs, "Teacher An, come quick! There's a pangolin here!"
An Lan hurried over and saw a pangolin carefully lying on the ground, carrying a baby pangolin steadily on its back. It looked so cute and adorable.
Filled with curiosity, Lu Fan crept closer.
Who knew that this pangolin was extremely timid. As soon as it sensed Lu Fan approaching, it trembled violently as if it had been electrocuted, and instantly hugged the little pangolin tightly in its arms.
In a flash, it shrank into a round ball, its speed so fast it was as if time had been accelerated.
Lu Fan squatted down beside it, staring intently at the "sphere," his curiosity surging wildly in his mind. He couldn't help but turn to ask An Lan.
"Do you think pangolin scales really have such miraculous effects as the legends say? I've always heard people say they're amazing."
An Lan explained patiently with a serious expression: "Pangolin shells are indeed considered to have some medicinal value in traditional Chinese medicine, such as promoting menstruation and lactation, reducing swelling and draining pus."
But did you know that these effects have been exaggerated to some extent? Because of these false rumors, many people have hunted them relentlessly, leading to a sharp decline in pangolin numbers and pushing many species to the brink of extinction.
Lu Fan chuckled softly, a hint of sarcasm in his voice, and said, "Isn't it all because those powerful and influential people are superstitious about these things? In the end, they're just afraid of dying and want to enjoy their good fortune for a few more years."
After saying that, he couldn't help but reach out and poke the "round ball," and gently rolled the pangolin around, laughing so hard he almost fell over.
He muttered to himself, "You little rascal, you're pretty good at dodging, like a little spiky ball."
An Lan looked at Lu Fan's childish behavior and was both annoyed and amused: "How old are you? Still playing this? Isn't it childish?"
As she spoke, she reached out and gently snatched the pangolin from Lu Fan's hand.
Strangely enough, perhaps sensing that An Lan's movements were gentle and without malice, the pangolin slowly unfolded its body.
Its little eyes darted around warily, surveying its surroundings. Once it was sure it was safe, it took the little pangolin and darted into the grass, disappearing without a trace in no time.
Lu Fan and his companion gazed in the direction the pangolin had gone, still somewhat reluctant to leave.
However, their enthusiasm for exploration remained undiminished, and they continued to venture deeper into the valley.
As he walked, Lu Fan suddenly felt his foot slip, and his body lurched forward uncontrollably, almost falling flat on his face.
Startled, he looked down and saw that he had stepped on a moss-covered stone, which was slippery as if it were coated with oil.
"Oh my god, this damn rock almost broke me!"
Lu Fan muttered to himself as he reached out to steady himself against a nearby tree trunk.
To his surprise, as he reached out to touch her, he immediately felt something furry in his palm.
He instinctively looked up, his face changed drastically, and he shouted in terror, "Holy crap, it's a shrew!!"
Lu Fan was so frightened that he quickly pulled his hand back, shaking it violently as if trying to shake off the horrible touch of the spicier pepper, while backing away, looking as if he had seen a ghost.
An Lan was laughing so hard she almost cried, clutching her stomach and unable to straighten up: "You're too funny! They're just a few little bugs, why are you so scared?"
Lu Fan looked at An Lan, completely unconcerned about his disheveled appearance, and explained with a smile, "This is a stinging caterpillar; getting stung by one of these things is no fun. Besides, I don't have urine to counteract the poison, do you?"
Upon hearing this, An Lan's face instantly flushed with embarrassment and anger. She reached out and grabbed Lu Fan's ear, gritting her teeth as she said, "What nonsense are you spouting now!"
While begging for mercy, Lu Fan said with a smile, "You think I'm joking? When I was little, I got bitten by a stinging caterpillar, and my grandma told me to pee on it and wipe it off."
An Lan then let go of his hand and couldn't help but laugh as she watched Lu Fan rubbing his ear.
She gently touched Lu Fan's ear and patiently explained, "Okay, okay, I misunderstood you this time. But I have to tell you, the poison of the stinging caterpillar is mainly caused by the poisonous hairs and venom on its body surface. This venom can irritate human skin and cause allergic reactions such as itching, redness, swelling, and pain."
Urine's main components are water, urea, uric acid, and other metabolic waste products. It does not contain any effective ingredients to neutralize the stinging venom of the caterpillar or alleviate allergic reactions, and therefore cannot fundamentally solve the problems caused by the stinging sensation on the skin. Thus, this method has no scientific basis.
