He tilted his head back and gulped down several large mouthfuls, then let out a loud, contented burp.
The sound echoed in the refrigerator, almost as if it were shouting "So awesome!"
He smacked his lips and said contentedly, "It's still this familiar taste. One bite and I feel like I'm floating. This is the source of happiness!"
After finishing those few sips of cola, Lu Fan was full of energy and rolled up his sleeves, ready to show off his cooking skills by making dinner.
He glanced at the seafood in the yard, then at the tender bamboo shoots in the basket beside him.
A brilliant idea flashed into my mind, and I decided to make a unique "Bamboo Shoot and Seafood Soup".
He first took the crabs out of the bucket. These crabs were restless, waving their big pincers and trying to "escape".
While outsmarting them, Lu Fan kept saying, "Little darlings, don't struggle. I'll cook you up nice and sweet later, so everyone can't stop eating you."
After finally cleaning the crabs, I also processed the lively shrimp. The shrimp would occasionally twitch on the cutting board, as if making a final "protest."
Next, he sliced the bamboo shoots into thin slices and arranged them neatly together.
After the water in the pot boiled, Lu Fan poured all the prepared seafood into it at once.
Instantly, the pot came alive with activity as crabs and shrimp tumbled in the hot water, soon releasing an enticing aroma.
Lu Fan then put the chopped bamboo shoots into the pot. As the bamboo shoots were added, the fresh bamboo fragrance and the rich seafood aroma blended together, filling the kitchen and making one's mouth water.
While the soup was cooking, Lu Fan poured himself a glass of cola, drinking it while stirring the soup in the pot, tasting it every now and then and adjusting the seasoning.
He hummed a tune that was out of tune, his face beaming with a happy smile, as if he were enjoying an incredibly joyful feast.
Finally, the bamboo shoot and seafood soup is ready!
Lu Fan poured the soup into a huge soup bowl. Tender bamboo shoots, bright red crabs, and shrimp floated on the surface of the soup. He then sprinkled on some bright green scallions. The presentation was absolutely stunning.
He carefully carried the soup bowl out of the kitchen and shouted, "Dinner's ready! Come and try my specialty, bamboo shoot and seafood soup!"
At the dinner table, Lu Fan enthusiastically poured Cokes for the two of them, his actions resembling those of a five-star hotel waiter.
An Lan smiled as she accepted the gift, took a small sip, and showed a satisfied expression.
But when it was Ling Yue's turn, he waved his hand and said helplessly, "I can't, I'm too old to drink such sweet things, my blood sugar will probably spike."
As he spoke, he ladled himself a bowl of soup and said with a satisfied smile, "This is still the most comforting thing to drink."
Upon hearing this, An Lan laughed and joked, "Brother Ling, you must be joking. You work out every day and are all muscle. How can you say you're old? You look more energetic than a young person!"
The meal was a lively affair, with everyone praising Lu Fan's "bamboo shoot and seafood soup," and the soup in the bowl was completely drunk up.
After the meal, the three of them were in high spirits and wanted to find some fun to relax.
Lu Fan's eyes lit up instantly, and his voice rose eight octaves with excitement: "I've got it! There's a ping-pong room on the first floor, how about we go play a few rounds?"
Ling Yue and An Lan exchanged a smile and nodded in agreement without saying a word, their eyes full of eagerness.
The three of them arrived at the table tennis room, and as soon as they pushed open the door, wow, the sports equipment inside was a sight to behold.
A brand-new ping-pong table sits in the center, while a pool table stands quietly beside it, as if waiting for someone to come and show off their skills.
In the corner, badminton rackets were neatly hung in a row, and a few basketballs lay casually on the ground.
Through the window, you can see the basketball hoop in the yard; the metal frame gleams, as if enthusiastically inviting everyone to go out and sweat it out.
Lu Fan deftly picked up the racket, a smirk playing on his lips, and gestured with his chin toward Ling Yue: "Brother Ling, we'll have to have a good match today and see who comes out on top."
Ling Yue was not to be outdone. He reached for his racket, cracked his wrist, and his joints made a "crackling" sound.
He replied confidently, "Bring it on! I won't hold back. In the military, this is a rare opportunity to relax!"
The moment the two stepped onto the court, their aura changed instantly. Their eyes were full of focus and fighting spirit, as if they were truly in the Olympic finals.
Lu Fan served first. He squatted down slightly, lowered his center of gravity, and stared intently at the ping-pong ball in his hand. His focused expression made it seem as if the whole world consisted only of him and the small ball.
Suddenly, he flicked his wrist, and the ball flew out like a bullet, so fast that its trajectory was almost invisible.
Ling Yue reacted extremely quickly, rushing forward and nimbly adjusting his position. He steadily met the incoming ball with his racket and, with a "snap," accurately blocked it back.
After the ball was blocked, its speed not only did not decrease, but it became even faster, bouncing high on the table and making a crisp, loud "bang" sound.
And so, the two engaged in a fierce back-and-forth battle.
Every shot is accompanied by the crisp sound of the racket hitting the ball; every save draws gasps of amazement.
The ping-pong ball weaves through the air, tracing dazzling arcs, sometimes soaring high into the air, sometimes skimming across the table.
The score remained close, with the two players trading baskets and neither willing to give an easy lead.
An Lan, watching from the sidelines, felt a strong urge to join in and try her skills.
She picked up her racket, stood in front of the table, took a deep breath, and tried to serve a beautiful shot.
But the ball was like a naughty child; as soon as it was released, it veered off course and flew off the table, making Lu Fan and Ling Yue burst into laughter.
An Lan scratched her head a little embarrassedly, blushing as she said, "Oh dear, I'm not very good at playing."
Seeing this, Lu Fan immediately put down his racket, walked over to An Lan, and patiently began to instruct her: "An Lan, when you serve, pay attention to controlling the power and angle, tilt the racket slightly, like this."
As he spoke, he personally demonstrated several times, explaining each movement in great detail.
An Lan studied very diligently, her eyes fixed on Lu Fan's movements, nodding from time to time.
Under Lu Fan's careful guidance, An Lan has made significant progress and is gradually able to fight them for several rounds.
However, after fighting for a while, An Lan still felt somewhat powerless.
Just then, a red panda, who was wandering around, slowly crawled in.
As soon as it came in, it stood to the side and started whimpering, as if saying, "Why is no one playing with me? I'm so lonely."
