Chapter 167 The Diligent Monkey

Lu Fan stood on the open ground, looking at the mountain of bricks, and joy surged in his heart like a tide.

He quickly estimated in his mind that they had produced nearly two thousand bricks in just one morning.

This achievement was absolutely astonishing, far exceeding all his previous expectations.

At this moment, the comments in the live stream chat were scrolling wildly like snowflakes.

"Wow, this speed is incredible! It's comparable to a factory assembly line!"

"The Monkey Construction Team has officially debuted in the center position. From now on, please call them the Brick-Moving Experts!"

"Don't you guys think Lu Fan is a bit shady? Just a few pieces of roasted meat and he gets the monkeys to work hard for him willingly."

"Hehe, I love how dark-skinned Lu Fan is, the darker the better!"

"Upstairs, which aspect of 'darkness' are you referring to?"

Lu Fan's gaze was fixed on the formed bricks, his heart pounding with excitement.

"Today was so smooth sailing, it was perfect!" he said to An Lan with a big smile.

"Yes, thanks to the Monkey King and his friends, as well as Big Horn, Lightning, and Big Black, they are all great contributors."

An Lan smiled and responded with a gentle, radiant gratitude, her eyes sparkling like a beautiful sunset.

The Monkey King seemed to be infected by the joyful atmosphere, and hopped and skipped quickly to Lu Fan's side.

It stretched out its little paws and gently tugged at Lu Fan's trouser leg, while making "squeak" noises incessantly.

Her expression was half seeking praise and reward, and half acting cute and charming towards Lu Fan.

Lu Fan smiled and affectionately patted its head before handing it a piece of fragrant roasted meat.

"Thank you for your hard work. This job wouldn't have been so easy to finish without your help today."

Lu Fan looked around at his lovely companions, and a warm feeling welled up in his heart without warning.

He knew clearly that in this unfamiliar forest full of unknowns and challenges, they were no longer alone.

These animals were no longer just his helpers in building his house, but also his close friends who accompanied and supported him along the way, and were his most precious treasure on this land.

"Anlan, once the house is built, we must have a big celebration to properly thank everyone for their hard work."

Lu Fan turned to look at An Lan, his eyes filled with anticipation for the future, as if he could already see the lively scene of the celebration.

"Great! I can't wait to see our cozy new home."

An Lan smiled and nodded vigorously, her eyes full of anticipation, as if her new home had already risen from the ground, and every cozy corner was clearly visible.

As time quietly passed, the sky gradually darkened.

Night fell like a huge, soft black silk ribbon, gently covering the entire world.

Lu Fan raised his hand and rubbed his sore shoulders, deciding to end his fulfilling and busy day.

He first let the monkeys happily return to their nests with the remaining delicious food.

Then, together with An Lan, they carefully arranged the bricks that embodied everyone's hard work.

They gathered thick leaves and sturdy vines, covering the brickwork completely, like covering a baby with a blanket.

To prevent them from getting wet from the cold dew at night, or from being damaged by a sudden downpour.

"Thank you so much everyone for today! Let's keep up the good work tomorrow!"

Lu Fan shouted at the top of his lungs to the departing monkey troop and the animals that had been busy all day, his loud voice echoing through the silent night sky.

Hearing the call, the monkeys turned around and squeaked a few times, as if responding to Lu Fan's gratitude and encouragement, before reluctantly disappearing into the dense forest.

Only their joyful calls remained, drifting leisurely in the air, as if happily recounting the day's happiness and harvest.

After a busy day, Lu Fan felt that every cell in his body was screaming with exhaustion, but his heart was filled with a great sense of accomplishment.

He stood there, stretched out his arms wide, his bones making a soft "crackling" sound, and turned to look at An Lan with a satisfied smile on his face.

"Everyone did a fantastic job today, we need to make up for it."

After saying that, he quickly began preparing the ingredients, intending to stew a pot of delicious seafood soup.

Various fresh and plump mushrooms, lively and fat fish, and mussels and clams carefully selected from the seaside.

He dumped all the ingredients into the pot at once.

Soon, a rich and enticing aroma wafted through the air, like an invisible hand tempting the appetite, drifting gently throughout the entire shelter.

"This smell is so enticing, it makes my mouth water just from the aroma." An Lan took a deep breath, a happy smile spreading across her face as she exclaimed sincerely.

"Of course! This soup today will definitely satisfy everyone and give you a good meal."

Lu Fan held a ladle and gently stirred the pot while responding confidently, his self-assured demeanor making him seem like the world's best chef.

Night fell completely, and the moonlight, like water, spilled into the shelter.

Lu Fan and An Lan sat side by side by the warm campfire, savoring the delicious seafood soup while reminiscing about the day's events.

Big Black lay to one side, its belly round and full, like a balloon, and occasionally let out a loud burp.

His adorable appearance was so funny that Lu Fan and An Lan couldn't help but laugh.

"Thanks to everyone today, especially the monkeys, they were a great help," An Lan said gratefully, gently putting down the soup bowl in her hand.

"Yes, they will definitely come to help again tomorrow. I estimate that in another day, we will be able to make enough bricks."

Lu Fan's eyes gleamed with excitement, like stars twinkling in the night sky. "After work tomorrow, we'll have to treat the monkeys to a good meal."

"Yes, they really helped a lot this time." An Lan nodded vigorously in agreement, already imagining the joyful scene of the monkeys eating meat in her mind.

The next morning, before the sun had fully illuminated the forest, the monkey troop had already arrived at the sanctuary in a grand procession.

The Monkey King took the lead, like a charging little soldier, and jumped to Lu Fan's side in a few leaps, squeaking excitedly.

Their eager expressions seemed to be urging Lu Fan: "Get started, get started, we can't wait any longer!"

"Haha, you guys are really enthusiastic. Looks like today will be another highly efficient day."

Lu Fan smiled and patted the Monkey King's head, then turned to everyone and said loudly, "Let's get started!"

With the combined efforts of the monkey troop, Big Horn, Lightning, and Big Black, the work of making brick blanks progressed exceptionally smoothly, like a machine with lubricant.

Looking at everyone's busy yet harmonious figures, Lu Fan was filled with emotion.

He stood aside, watching all of this quietly, his eyes filled with excitement and satisfaction.

He knew that at this pace, the bricks would definitely be completed successfully today.

So he decided to prepare for the evening's treat in advance.
