"In the city, there are lights everywhere, and the stars are all obscured. Unlike here, the starry sky is so bright, it feels like you can reach out and touch the stars."
Lu Fan sighed, his eyes still fixed on the sky, as if trying to imprint this beautiful scene deep into his mind.
An Lan nodded slightly, a faint smile on her lips: "Yes, perhaps this is the price of development; there are always things that must be sacrificed."
The stars twinkled, the atmosphere was serene and beautiful. Lu Fan paused for a moment, then said, "Let's rest a bit tomorrow morning, and then I'll take you back to my shelter. We can look after each other if we're together, and besides, I have plenty of resources there."
“Okay.” An Lan’s response was concise yet reassuring.
Now that they've met up, it's impossible for them to go their separate ways; they'll definitely have to help each other out.
The two gazed at the starry sky in silence for a while, fully enjoying this moment of tranquility and beauty.
It wasn't until the night breeze blew in, carrying a slight chill, that An Lan couldn't help but shiver, and Lu Fan finally came to his senses.
"It's too late, you should get some rest. We still have to travel tomorrow." As Lu Fan spoke, he added some firewood to the fire to make it burn brighter and dispel the chill of the night.
"Then where will you sleep?" An Lan asked.
"It's alright, I'm in good health. I can just lean against the wall and sleep for a bit. You should get some rest," Lu Fan said with a smile, his tone full of care and responsibility.
An Lan had no choice but to nod.
After all, there's no way to conjure up two beds in a short time.
She returned to the haystack in the shelter, lay down in a comfortable position, closed her eyes, and prepared to fall asleep.
Lu Fan sat to the side, leaning against the wall, watching over An Lan.
Big Black lay down at his feet and soon began to snore softly. The breathing of the two men and the wolf mingled together, adding a touch of warmth to the desolate night.
Lu Fan woke up just as dawn was breaking the next day.
He stretched and looked at An Lan, who was still fast asleep, without waking her up immediately.
Instead, he tiptoed out of the shelter and walked around to see if he could make any new discoveries.
A thin layer of mist hangs over the wilderness in the early morning, making it look like a fairyland, with the air filled with the fragrance of grass and soil.
Lu Fan took a deep breath and felt refreshed.
He noticed some brightly colored, plump, and tempting berries in the grass not far away, so he carefully picked some, thinking of taking them back for Anlan to try.
[Wilderness Survival Announcement]
Chinese contestant Lu Fan triggers a 10,000-fold return.
[50 Berries*]
When Lu Fan returned to the shelter, An Lan had already woken up and was packing her things.
She had very few belongings, mainly some dried herbs, which were light and easy to carry, and her precious bow and arrows.
She may not have much else, but these things are essential for her survival in the wilderness.
"Good morning, how did you sleep?" Lu Fan greeted him with a smile, his face radiating the energy of the morning.
"Good morning, I slept so well, I haven't slept this soundly in a long time." An Lan smiled back, her face still flushed from just waking up, making her look exceptionally gentle.
"I picked some berries; we can eat them on the way." Lu Fan handed the berries he had picked to An Lan, his eyes full of anticipation for her to taste them.
"Berry? I've never encountered one before," An Lan asked curiously, her eyes sparkling with doubt and curiosity.
"Maybe I was just lucky."
Lu Fan silently added in his mind: I can't exactly tell you that I have a "cheat code".
"Wow, you're really lucky. I've been here for so long and haven't found any berries." An Lan took the berries and praised them, her tone full of envy.
The two ate something simple, packed their bags, and prepared to set off.
Lu Fan walked over to the horse, patted Lightning's neck, and said affectionately, "Old buddy, we're counting on you today. Take us safely back to my shelter."
Lightning seemed to understand him, letting out a neigh and pawing the ground with its front hooves, appearing quite excited, as if replying, "Don't worry, I've got your back!"
An Lan looked at the horse and hesitated, "Can this horse carry both of us?"
"Don't worry, this horse is very strong. Carrying the two of us is a piece of cake," Lu Fan said confidently, patting the horse's rump to encourage it.
As he spoke, Lu Fan first mounted his horse with practiced ease, then reached out to pull An Lan up: "Come on, let me pull you up."
An Lan hesitated for a moment, but still reached out and grabbed Lu Fan's hand.
With Lu Fan's help, she carefully mounted the horse and sat behind him.
"Hold on tight, or don't blame me if you fall down later," Lu Fan said half-jokingly, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
An Lan blushed slightly, hesitated for a moment, and then gently hugged Lu Fan's waist.
She glanced back at her shelter.
Although it was small and somewhat rudimentary, it was something she had built bit by bit, carrying countless memories of her days and nights, and a sense of reluctance welled up in her heart.
In the live stream room, the barrage of comments scrolled like a tide.
"Great, we're finally going back to God Lu Fan's sanctuary."
"Now that the two of us are together, we can talk to each other and we don't feel so lonely."
"I never thought that Lu Fan, the great god, could win the heart of a beauty after just one trip."
"I've become a bit of a shipper for these two, so I'm announcing the end of the series!"
"Set off!"
Lu Fan shouted and gently squeezed the horse's belly with his legs. The horse then galloped off towards his shelter.
Because he was taking Anlan with him this time, he slowed down the pace and thoughtfully placed a layer of dry grass on the horse's back to prevent friction and make Anlan as comfortable as possible.
Big Black ran ahead, clearing the way, occasionally disappearing into the unseen bushes, like a mischievous child, or a dutiful little guard.
Along the way, a gentle breeze caressed my face, bringing a touch of coolness, like the tender touch of nature.
The scenery on both sides flashed by like a slideshow: lush forests, their branches and leaves shimmering with the luster of life under the sunlight; colorful wildflowers vying for attention, emitting bursts of fragrance; and crystal-clear streams, their waters babbling and playing a melodious natural symphony.
Anlan sat on his horse, gazing at the beautiful scenery before him, completely captivated by it.
"Wow, the scenery here is so beautiful!" An Lan couldn't help but exclaim, her voice full of surprise and delight.
"Yes, the wilderness is full of such beautiful scenery, but many people don't have the chance to appreciate it."
As Lu Fan spoke, he skillfully steered the horse, his eyes revealing his love and familiarity with this wilderness.
Suddenly, the lightning slowed down; a stream had appeared ahead.
The stream flows gently, its water crystal clear, revealing the stones and swimming fish at the bottom. They dart merrily through the shimmering water, carefree and content.
"Let's rest here for a bit and let the horses have some water," Lu Fan suggested, his voice carrying a hint of relief after his exhaustion.
“Okay.” An Lan readily agreed, and she was also very much looking forward to the opportunity to experience the clear stream up close.
Lu Fan dismounted first with swift movements, then helped An Lan down and escorted her to the stream, displaying his gentlemanly demeanor.
The horse lowered its head and drank the water in large gulps, making gurgling sounds in its throat, as if expressing its love for the sweet stream.
Lu Fan squatted by the stream, cupped his hands to wash his face with the water, and immediately felt incredibly refreshed, his fatigue vanishing.
Why didn't I trigger the 10,000x return?
Lu Fan was puzzled and wondering when the Heavenly Dao notification sounded.
This stream is a tributary of the river that was previously triggered.
Lu Fan instantly realized that it had already been triggered.
"This water is so cool, why don't you wash your face too?" Lu Fan said to An Lan with a refreshing smile on his face.
An Lan followed Lu Fan's example and scooped up the stream water with her hands to wash her face.
The cool stream water touched her cheeks, invigorating her and making her feel as if all her troubles had been washed away by the water.
After washing their faces, the two sat on the rocks by the stream to rest.
An Lan looked at the small fish swimming in the stream and suddenly had a brilliant idea: "What do you think, how about we catch a few fish here and grill them for dinner tonight?"
"Great idea! I happen to have a harpoon with me." Lu Fan immediately became interested, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
As he spoke, Lu Fan took his trident off his back.
This trident has a unique shape, shimmering with a metallic luster in the sunlight, and the large yellow pearl on it is particularly eye-catching, exuding an aura of mystery and luxury.
Looking at Lu Fan's artistically striking trident, An Lan couldn't help but ask curiously, "Did you make this too?"
"Yeah, how was it? Not bad, right?" Lu Fan said smugly, like a child waiting for praise.
Looking at the large yellow pearl on the trident, An Lan exclaimed, "You're really extravagant! Such a big pearl must be worth a fortune outside."
