Wang Lun put down his basket, pulled Li Ling to sit by the pond, and told her everything Liu Ruoling had told him. When Li Ling heard it was their plan, her brows furrowed deeply. "You knew, why didn't you stop it?" she asked. Wang Lun was stunned. "I knew? Didn't she just tell me? Liu Ruoling only told me while we were cutting grass. How could I know beforehand?" he thought. "I only found out myself," she said. "I just told you." Li Ling said, "Then why didn't you tell me immediately?" Wang Lun said, "Please, we were still outside. How could I tell you?" Li Ling said, "I think you just wanted to embarrass me. You don't love me at all." Wang Lun found Li Ling's words amusing. He stood up and said, "If that's what you think, then so be it." He turned and left. Li Ling tried to reach out and grab him, but by the time she did, Wang Lun was already far away. Li Ling whispered, "Isn't it said that when a woman is being coquettish, you can always coax her?" Tears streamed down her face.
Upon entering the house, Liu Ruoxi saw that only Wang Lun had returned; Li Ling was not behind him. She went up to him and asked, "Why didn't she come back?" Wang Lun replied, "Let her calm down if she wants to cause trouble." He then sat down on a stool. Liu Ruoxi could tell that Wang Lun was somewhat angry, and she also felt sorry for Li Ling. So Liu Ruoxi smiled and took her hand. Li Ling pulled her up, and they walked back to eat together.
Back inside, they sat down at the table. Liu Ruoling had already served the food, and Wang Lun and Liu Ruoling had already started eating without waiting for them. After finishing his bowl, Wang Lun got another bowl, returned, and sat down, saying, "This afternoon, Liu Ruoling and I will get the bathroom sink and walls fixed, and if we have time, we'll start laying the stones. Seeing that it was still early, Wang Lun asked Liu Ruoling to help them lay the shower stall floor while he went to lay the stones from the drain outside.
Liu Ruoling reluctantly went to the shower room and saw that Liu Ruoxi and Li Ling had already started tiling the walls, but the floor was only being tiled along the walls. The space was rather small, and Liu Ruoling couldn't squeeze in, so she was mixing the mud outside. She didn't want to go in herself either.
Wang Lun finished laying the waterway in about ten or twenty minutes, and it was right in the pool. So Liu Ruoxi and Li Ling went back to cook. Liu Ruoling and Wang Lun continued laying the floor.
