Chapter 88 Where did you eat me?
Jiang Shuifu was in a daze, feeling like a fish thrown into a hot pan, being fried over and over again. One side wasn't enough, so they didn't let the other side go either. She was being spun around in circles by the pan, and she felt extremely dizzy.
She was extremely upset, wanted to cry, and wanted to rebel.
Who would want to eat her so much? She's just a law-abiding little fish, why would they catch her and eat her?
That's terrible!
Reluctantly, she turned and bit the hands that were trying to fry her.
"Awoo!"
She bit down hard, as if a dying fish were struggling desperately, and the man groaned.
But Shen Jizhao's hands did not stop; he continued to turn her over to cool her down, as she had a fever again.
Perhaps it was a lingering illness from her previous fall into the water, or perhaps it was the chill emanating from him that affected her; this time, she had a high fever, and when he touched her after she collapsed on him, she was alarmingly hot.
He ordered someone to fetch a doctor overnight, and only then was she given medicine and her body wiped to cool down.
"No! Waaaaah! No!"
She started crying again, resisting his hands as he wiped her. Shen Jizhao thought she was disgusted by his touching her, so he patiently explained:
"I didn't take off your clothes, I just wiped you clean. I won't touch your skin. Be good, it will be over soon."
The little fish that had been fried fell silent; she was too weak to speak and had fallen asleep.
Shen Jizhao breathed a sigh of relief and continued to wipe her down.
That night, the little fish was very restless. She would wake up and try to bite and kick him, and then she would get a fever again. He didn't get a moment's rest and spent the whole night watching over her every move and trying to cool her down.
Finally, the second day arrived. The little fish on the bed was no longer moving, and her fever had subsided considerably. She fell into a peaceful sleep, and he went to prepare breakfast for her.
Pushing open the door and approaching the bedside, Shen Jizhao helped her sit up, intending to feed her some porridge.
She was still asleep when she felt those hands tormenting her again, and her defensive fingers twitched.
Shen Jizhao helped her up, but paused for a moment. He looked down and saw nail marks on the back of her hand, with bloodstains on top of them.
But it wasn't pinched by those pomegranate-red fingernails.
Instead...
Just then, Jiang Shuifu opened her eyes, and what came into view was the bloodstains on his hands.
Her eyes widened, her little mouth opened wide, and then a heart-wrenching sob burst forth:
"You ate me! What part of me did you eat? Waaaaah, did you eat my body or my legs? I may be a little chubby, but you can't eat me!"
As she spoke, she covered her plump chest and teared, one after another, almost flooding the bed.
Shen Jizhao was a little confused. What was she talking about?
He looked at the sobbing woman who was only wearing an undergarment. His eyes widened in surprise. Did she think he had devoured her?
His eyes widened, and he immediately shook his head and waved his hands in denial:
"I didn't eat any! I wouldn't dare eat any of yours! I didn't eat anywhere!"
The wronged little fish cried and cried until she fainted again. Before she fainted, she lay down and saw the bowl of porridge. She opened her chubby mouth and opened and closed it, just like a fish drinking water.
He understood that she was hungry.
Shen Jizhao sat beside her and fed her spoonful by spoonful. She was extremely obedient and well-behaved.
Then he went out and summoned Pan Tao, who was menstruating and needed someone to change her clothes.
For several days in a row, Jiang Shuifu was in this state. Apart from not cooperating when Shen Jizhao wiped her body, she was quite cooperative when eating.
That day, Shen Jizhao came to feed her again. Looking at the drowsy, slightly feverish Yu'er, he scooped up a spoonful of porridge and coaxed her:
"Stop swimming. Come here, I won't eat you. Open your bubbling mouth, and I'll rub your belly after I'm done eating you."
"Shen Jizhao, who do you want to eat? Who's blowing bubbles?"
Jiang Shuifu questioned him somewhat angrily.
The man's hand, which was about to touch her mouth, paused. Had she regained consciousness?
The next moment, she started making a fuss again:
"I want to eat wontons! I want to eat them now! I don't care!"
Although she knew it would take time to go down the mountain to buy it, she insisted on eating it immediately.
When Shen Jizhao heard her give the order, he wanted to advise her that she shouldn't eat meat since she had just woken up, as it would be hard to digest. However, she turned her back to him and ignored him, so he had no choice but to obey.
"I'm all alone with you."
A moment later, the person who had been facing away turned around. Looking at the steaming bowl of wontons in front of her, she was a little surprised that he had bought them so quickly.
But she had lost her appetite:
"I won't eat it! I won't eat it!"
Shen Jizhao fell silent. Thinking he was about to get angry, she preemptively struck, acting unreasonably:
"Who told you to be so slow! And you still have the nerve to complain!"
Shen Jizhao wasn't angry; he simply covered her with the blanket and asked with concern:
Does your stomach still hurt?
Upon hearing his words, scenes flashed through Jiang Shuifu's mind:
At first, he simply gave her hot water and placed it at her feet and beside her stomach, but she felt it wasn't enough and was writhing in pain. So he covered her with his large hands, gently rubbing and pressing her stomach. When he saw that she was getting better and was about to leave, she wouldn't let him go and kept pestering him to continue.
At this moment, Shen Jizhao approached her step by step, and the posture of giving her a massage came again. Just as he lifted her thin blanket and reached in, she immediately stepped back, her eyes wary.
Shen Jizhao's hands did not stop; he placed hot water bottles on her feet and stomach. Suddenly, Jiang Shuifu felt waves of warmth, which soothed her aching stomach.
Her temper gradually subsided, and she made demands of him again:
"I want to eat lots of meat and fish, I want to eat delicacies from land and sea, but I can't eat them. How about this, you make them for me, and I'll just smell them?"
Preparing a huge feast just so she can smell the aroma is such a hassle. Not to mention how unreasonable the person making this request is, even the dumbest person would frown upon hearing her say that.
Even the peaches standing to the side couldn't help but cover their eyes.
But Shen Jizhao agreed.
As the sun set, the table was laden with dishes, all of which were her favorites.
Jiang Shuifu sat on the bed, gazing at the dishes a few steps away, and swallowed.
Shen Jizhao brought her a variety of dishes: a vegetable and radish soup, wontons with just a little meat and no oil, and porridge with a few small pieces of fish. All were extremely light and wouldn't upset her stomach, yet they satisfied her craving for meat. He offered her a selection:
Which one would you like to eat?
Jiang Shuifu suddenly lowered her eyes, seemingly lost in thought. Then she raised her hand and took a bite of each, but only one bite.
There was still a large bowl left, as if it had never been touched.
Looking at the dishes that had taken so much effort to prepare, Pan Tao was genuinely worried that His Highness the Crown Prince would get angry.
Just then, as if her fears had come true, Shen Jizhao summoned her. Pan Tao was about to kneel down, but he walked to the table laden with dishes and picked up his chopsticks.
Let's eat together.
The peach's eyes widened; she was utterly flattered. When she sat down, her legs trembled, and she buried her head in her food.
As she ate, she still couldn't believe that the man in front of her, who was fawning over Weiwei, feeding it, and indulging Miss without any limits, was still the same Crown Prince with indifferent and cold eyes and behavior that could freeze people to the bone.
As night fell, the menstrual flow began to torment Jiang Shuifu again. She had barely gotten out of bed for the past few days, and this time the flow was particularly fierce. She lay in bed silently shedding tears, clutching her stomach, feeling very aggrieved.
Shen Jizhao knocked on the door, wanting to come in.
She ignored him, so he kept knocking.
Until her crying grew louder and louder, so loud that he had to barge in.
Jiang Shuifu shifted her attention and scolded him:
"Who let you in without my permission! You despicable person! Get out, get out! All you do is bully me!"
Shen Jizhao ignored her words and walked to her bedside, standing there and gazing down at her.
"If you keep crying, your eyes will be so swollen you won't be able to show your face to anyone. Aren't you the most vain person?"
Her crying gradually subsided, and she subconsciously touched the corner of her eye.
Shen Jizhao seized the opportunity:
"Shall I rub it for you? Once you're better, I'll take you to the morning market."
She didn't refuse. He breathed a sigh of relief and began to move his large hand over her abdomen. He was very careful, gently massaging her through the thin blanket with just the right amount of pressure. It felt strangely comfortable, and she gradually fell asleep.
Two more days passed. During these two days, Shen Jizhao massaged her every day, but she smelled bad and her hair was greasy. She couldn't stand it anymore.
"I want to take a bath!"
Shen Jizhao disagreed, saying, "How can one take a bath when the Gui water comes?"
Jiang Shuifu didn't argue with him, but silently turned her back and smelled her smelly hair.
When Shen Jizhao saw that she had stopped moving, he looked closely and saw that she was crying again.
Women during the Gui water period are truly made of water.
He went out.
When he returned, he brought a bucket of water. He had already asked her if he could wash her body, but he could wash her hair after the first three days. So he gathered up her hair that had fallen by the bed and splashed warm water on it.
"It doesn't smell bad, Water Lily doesn't smell bad, are you happy now?"
Jiang Shuifu was startled. Feeling Qing Si swimming happily in the water, she instantly stopped feeling sad and lay down with her eyes closed.
This was the first time she had ever showered while asleep, and it felt pretty good.
Shen Jizhao's movements were gentle. He gave her a hair treatment with egg white and massaged her scalp to relieve her discomfort from menstruation.
After he finished washing her hair, he quickly dried it with a cloth and then applied osmanthus oil to it, from the middle to the ends.
Jiang Shuifu found it incredible that he was so meticulous in every step. When did he learn these things?
His eyes were full of laughter; it was clear he was happy to be able to touch her hair.
"I am willing to learn."
.
It rained again, and the chicks outside jumped onto the wooden frame on the second floor. This time, they nestled peacefully in the hay to avoid the rain, clucking and pecking at each other as they played.
Inside the room, Jiang Shuifu rubbed her nose again, sat in front of the dressing table, and frowned unhappily as she looked at her pale face.
Soon, she changed into a new dress—or rather, the same one she wore on her return visit home that day. She felt that this dress suited her better. She then put on makeup, applied lip rouge, and drew her eyebrows.
However, she always felt her hands trembling, especially when it rained, she felt a chill running through her body, and she couldn't draw well no matter how long she tried.
She tossed her hand in frustration, then pursed her lips again.
Shen Jizhao, who was painting nearby, looked up and saw this scene. He stopped and walked towards her step by step:
"Why don't you let me give it a try?"
Jiang Shuifu immediately moved away from him: "No, I don't want bugs crawling on my face."
Shen Jizhao was amused by her avoidance.
"Give me a chance. If I don't do well, I'm willing to grant you one request."
After weighing the options, Jiang Shuifu decided that she wouldn't lose out anyway.
Shen Jizhao picked up the snail-shaped ink to draw her eyebrows, her movements were very gentle and skillful.
Jiang Shuifu wasn't in the mood to look in the mirror; his technique was rather annoying. She was idly playing with her pomegranate-red nails when she glanced up and was startled.
How could there be such a pair of symmetrical, slender willow-leaf eyebrows in the bronze mirror? Their general shape resembled a crescent moon, with smooth, silky connections, curved and gentle, while the curves of the eyebrows were slightly upturned, inexplicably adding a touch of charm and allure to her, and perfectly showcasing the seductive allure in her face.
Every stroke is just right.
Did this really happen because of the man in front of me?
How could he draw eyebrows like that?
He's progressed way too fast!
He really does everything effortlessly!
Back when she was a beginner, it took her a whole month to barely be able to draw an eyebrow shape!
Her cheeks were puffed up in anger.
Shen Jizhao thought this eyebrow shape suited her best, half alluring and half delicate, and he asked for her opinion with some trepidation:
Is it pretty?
Jiang Shuifu immediately denied it, shaking her head vigorously: "It's not pretty!"
Okay, then he owes her one condition, one wish.
Shen Jizhao curled his lips smugly; in this way, they would be bound together.
At night, Jiang Shuifu, whose menstrual blood had finally left, planned to take a bath.
She couldn't feel her low-grade fever.
She bent down to check the water temperature; it was still a bit hot, so she decided to take off her clothes later.
Just then, a cold wind blew in through the window, blurring her vision. When she got up, she unexpectedly lost her balance and stepped on the water that had spilled onto the floor.
With a "thump".
It rolled inside.
Then, the wooden bucket seemed about to tilt and fall to the ground. Could her weak body withstand such a fall?
Shen Jizhao, who was outside, heard her voice. He originally wanted to call her maid in, but the sound of the rolling barrel startled him. He disregarded the difference between men and women and rushed in to protect her.
Fortunately, he could see from the window that she was dressed.
