Chapter 2 Hey, first place!

The story is short; it's about a boy's rebellion during a war between demons.

The aftereffects lingered, making everyone feel as if a sharp knife was stuck in their hearts, making it hard to breathe.

"Oh my god, poor boy, sob sob."

"Singing for freedom, rebelling for freedom, what a beautiful story this is."

"Being a bard is a great profession, allowing a story from ancient times to be passed down to the present day."

Thirty minutes passed in the blink of an eye. While chatting, Wendy made a few more torches and took out a bottle of cider from his cloak. Looking at the cider with a pained expression, Wendy resisted the urge to chug it down in one gulp and stared at the spot where the portal had appeared, ready for anything.

Wendy can still tell the difference between a single bite of pure enjoyment and every bite of pure enjoyment.

The portal reappeared quickly, and this time the monster was much larger than before. Wendy took a deep breath, poured cider onto the unlit wood, ignited it with fire, threw it out, and then used a wind vortex to create a giant meat grinder.

However… there aren’t many resources left from this so-called national border, so Wendy decided to go back and take another look.

"Oh dear, a blanket... Hmm, not as warm as a cloak. Maybe I should use it to start a fire?" Wendy thought, looking at the pristine white blanket. Oh well, maybe I'll need it sooner or later. Even though I'm just a free-spirited wind sprite.

Wendy went into the kitchen and searched for a while before finding a flint and steel and some damp firewood piled up in the corner. No problem, the firewood would be ready to use in no time once the wind blew it.

"Hey, now I won't have to worry about not having enough." Wendy wasn't going to carry around dirty firewood, so he kicked it away with his little leather shoes.

As expected of Barbatos!

With more than twenty minutes left, Wendy was arguing with the viewers. When the viewers asked where the boy went in the end, they noticed that Wendy, who had been grinning, had stopped smiling and turned her face away, leaving only a small braid that emitted a faint glow. Her hair covered her expression, and all they could see were the clear tears sliding down her cheeks.

“The boy is doing well. The wind spirit who accompanied him has already flown to the heavens in his place. However, they once made a promise that once they saw the blue sky, the wind spirit would take him to fly to the heavens with her. This wish can no longer be fulfilled.” Wendy raised her head again, her smile as always, but the bitterness and memories were well hidden, and no one noticed.

"A knife! A large knife!"

"Damn it, even on the battlefield of national destiny, I still managed to get stabbed!"

"Hey, if you want to hear more, give me an apple." Wendy magically produced an apple, wiped it casually on his clothes, and popped it into his mouth. There are still three rounds left, he'll do his best.

In the last three rounds, the same method was used, with fire and wind elements creating a diffusion reaction. The giant meat grinder was the talk of the town, but Venti knew that if other elements were present, it would become a fully automatic meat grinder.

That's why the Traveler was ruined by himself and others! Led by the old man! Damn it, he wants the shield too!

"Although more than 50 countries have perished, congratulations to the surviving countries. You have received rewards, and the leaderboard is now being released."

First place: Dragon Kingdom, withstood five rounds of attacks, total time 6 minutes.

Second place: America, withstood five rounds of attacks, total time 12 minutes.

Third place: Bear Kingdom, withstood five rounds of attacks, total time 19 minutes.

...

The awards will now be presented.

First place winner receives: a three-year increase in lifespan, a 10% increase in freshwater resources, and 1000 National Fortune Coins.

Second place winner receives: a two-year increase in lifespan, a 5% increase in freshwater resources, and 700 National Fortune Coins.

Third place winner receives: an additional year of lifespan, a 3% increase in freshwater resources, and 500 National Fortune Coins.

..."

Wendy didn't care about what he had gained before; he only cared about what came after: 1000 National Fortune Coins! That's enough to buy ten bottles of dandelion wine that he could never finish!

Excitedly, Wendy opened the shop with the huge sum of money, redeemed a bottle of dandelion wine that would never run out, opened it, and blew straight into it! "Delicious! It's authentic dandelion wine!" Wendy's cheeks flushed slightly, her face filled with delight. "I still have 900 left, hmm, let me see." Wendy swiped back, thought for a moment, and then bought technology knowledge and military knowledge, spending 600 national fortune coins.

Suddenly, Wendy's gaze locked onto a newly appeared button. "Wish System? It can get items from two to five stars." Wendy glanced at the price and thought, "Wow, 160 National Fortune Coins per draw, and a guaranteed four-star or higher item in ten draws."

"Want to try?" Wendy looked at the comments, which only had one word: Try!

"Okay, whatever you guys say." Wendy shrugged and gently clicked the draw button. The lottery screen changed, and a shooting star streaked down from the starry sky. Its color was... gold?

"What? This is a five-star?" Wendy was incredulous. Can you believe that a drunken poet who does nothing all day could produce a five-star?

"?? Is this the power of a lucky person?"

"Damn it, I want to sneak into Europe too!"

"May this external application bring me a miracle in gacha pulls, guaranteeing I won't get the wrong character!"

A meteor fell to earth, and what appeared before my eyes was...

"Ah!?" Wendy suddenly screamed. Of all people to send, why did it have to be Diluc?!

I still owe the angels a lot of money. Won't I get beaten to death?

At Dawn Winery, Diluc, who was resting, was suddenly swept away by a mysterious black hole. When Diluc woke up, he saw Wendy sitting upright in a completely unfamiliar environment.

"Venti? Over here?" The usually taciturn Diluc stared at Venti. Venti chuckled and pushed Diluc aside, explaining the current situation. Diluc and Venti then returned to the screen. Diluc rubbed his temples and said, "Let me borrow a phrase from Stormterror: 'Let's get down to business, Barbatos.'"

"Heh? This has nothing to do with me, they just dragged me here by force." Wendy chuckled and picked up the bottle of dandelion wine that she couldn't finish, then sulked.

"Hilarious! I just got back from other live streams. Other countries all got soldiers and cannon fodder, but only our Dragon Kingdom got a five-star character."

"But this character, with his cold face, red hair, and upright posture, I declare this to be my new topical treatment!"

"There's so much topical treatment upstairs! You womanizing bastard!"

"The internet is not a lawless place. Please watch your words!"

Diluc rubbed his temples, looked at Wendy who was completely drunk, and knew he couldn't count on him, so he began to inspect the so-called border gate.

Suddenly, the voice of the nation's destiny rang out again: "The athletes now have 24 hours of rest time to explore their surroundings. Danger and opportunity coexist. After 24 hours, they will begin guarding the nation's gate."

Diluc stood up. The gates of the Dragon Kingdom, which had been shrouded in dark mist, were now clearing, revealing the surrounding scenery.

Yellow sand, no trees in sight, barren land—looking out at all, this doesn't look like a place with any resources.
