Chapter 25: The Second Phase of National Fortune Begins

Not long after returning to Teyvat, Wendy had just sat down on a large tree in the Windrise when a white light flashed before her eyes. When she opened her eyes again, Wendy found herself sitting on the ground. Looking around, she saw people from other countries on Earth. Some were silent and frowning, while others were panicked and restless.

It is clear that these are players who participated in the first stage and newly selected players.

Dragon Kingdom... Wendy turned her head and saw one person she knew and two people she didn't know.

So, it really is Teyvat that they're drawing the lucky winner? Wendy thought helplessly as she looked at the figure.

"Wendy?" The man snapped out of his daze, stood up, and walked straight toward Wendy. "Long time no see, Wan Ye. Since the last gathering, you've been either in the Abyss or on the Southern Cross ship." Wendy scratched his head and smiled.

Yes, one of his current teammates is the wind-elemental boy, Maple Leaf, and the other two should be from China.

"Is this the place that I heard in my mind when I first came in, the place that claims to be the destiny of the nation?" Wan Ye looked at the Kagura-bottle Isshin in his hand, which was emitting a red light. He then looked at the contestants around him. Wendy nodded. A strong wind blew by, and Wendy's clothes changed back to the green outfit.

"Fortunately, I've already helped the Traveler complete the Spiral Abyss. Now it's better, and I don't want to hear that Abyss Apostle constantly nagging me about feeling grace anymore." Maple Leaf smiled indifferently and pulled Wendy up from the ground. "So, tell me the rules."

“Okay, that’s roughly the rule…” Wendy began explaining the rules, and the other two teammates also came over.

"Is that so? It seems to be a very brutal struggle." Kaede Manba rested his chin on one hand and put the other on his hip, while Wendy turned to his two teammates and asked, "By the way, I still don't know your names. Would you mind if your names were written into the bard's poems and sung about?"

"My name is Jiangyin, and I'm a chef. If you need any cooking, you can leave it to me."

"My name is Zhennan, and I'm a student..."

“Jiangyin, Zhennan, I’ve got it.” Wendy nodded with a smile. Fengyuan Wanye looked around at the contestants and asked, “These are all contestants from other countries, right? According to the rules, contestants cannot hurt each other, which also prevents some people with ill intentions from attacking from behind.”

“Yes, but the national fortune game specifically targets the Dragon Kingdom, or rather, it restricts us. It seems that when we return the resources we obtain in the forbidden area to the Dragon Kingdom, a portion of them are withheld,” Wendy said in a deep voice. “It’s only because we come from Teyvat that the national fortune game targets the Dragon Kingdom because of us.”

"How could this be?" Zhen Nan stared wide-eyed in disbelief, but Jiang Yin nodded and said, "If the fate of the nation is truly a game, then it would not tolerate the existence of forces beyond its capacity, which is quite reasonable."

“So, we’re under even more pressure, right?” Kaede Manba said. Wendy nodded and said, “The live stream isn’t open yet, so let’s not tell them yet, it will cause panic.” The three of them nodded and kept this not-so-secret secret together.

After a while, another white light appeared, and the four disappeared from their original spot. Opening their eyes, they found themselves in the forest. Kaede Manba listened for a moment with his eyes closed and said, "It's alright, the area is safe, there's nothing strange or unusual." "What are the rules this time? To survive here? Or..." Wendy frowned deeply. Kaede Manba suddenly pointed in a direction and said, "There, I heard a voice, a voice."

At the same time, the live stream was launched, and a large number of viewers from China flooded into the live stream, eager to see which other players from China were still competing.

"Isn't that my son, Jiangyin?"

"It's my classmate Zhennan!"

"But who is the other one? Besides Wendy's wife, who is that person?"

"Upstairs, did you see that Eye of God that looks exactly like Wendy's wife? It's a little wind-elemental boy."

"Is it a Xiao?"

"Haven't we already met Xiao? That must be Kaedehara Manyo!"

"Damn it, I missed the live broadcast back then."

Maple Leaf looked at the live stream with curiosity. He could clearly see his own face and the comments from the Chinese viewers, but he couldn't understand them for a while, since there were many words he didn't understand.

Next time, I'll find some time to ask Wendy, like what those people said about wives, external application, and things like bitter tea seed flying, bitter tea seed hitting someone, etc.

While the four were discussing in the live stream, they gradually approached the source of the sound. Wan Ye looked up and saw people from another planet.

It has blue skin, red eyes, crimson horns on its head, and wears unusual clothes.

"Damn it, we've been transported to this wretched place, a forest, without water! We can't survive!" a man exclaimed. A woman comforted him, "We'll find water, trust us." A child hid behind the woman, curiously observing this world he had never seen before.

"Any ideas?" Wan Ye asked. Wendy fell into deep thought, while Jiang Yin and Zhen Nan looked at each other, at a loss for what to do.

“They might be the kind of people who rely on water to be effective in combat,” Wendy said, and Wanye nodded, “I think so too.”

"Where are we going now?" Zhen Nan asked. Wan Ye closed her eyes again, then opened them after a moment and said, "Follow me."

Following Wan Ye, they bypassed many populated areas until they arrived at a huge natural cave. Wan Ye said, "This cave is perfect. I'll go in and take a look. You wait for me here." With that, Wan Ye, carrying the fishing cage and bottle, stepped into the cave.

"It's safe inside, come in." A moment later, Wan Ye's voice rang out in the cave, and Wendy and the other two went in. Wan Ye was looking around the cave and said, "We need to clean this cave first. There's a lake nearby, and we also need to find some large leaves to make a campfire or something."

"Wan Ye, how come you're so skilled?" Zhen Nan couldn't help but ask. Wan Ye was taken aback, then smiled.

“My name is Kaedehara Manyo, and I’m a wandering samurai, so I have experience surviving in the wild. Okay, let’s not talk about this now, you guys go find your things first.” Manyo’s bandaged hand ruffled Zhen Nan’s hair, making the girl blush.

"Is this what you call the fate of the nation? This is more like a survival show..." Wendy couldn't help but complain.

Not long after the rant, the national announcement rang out.

"All players have been teleported. We will now announce the rules for the second phase!"
