After a while, Wendy regained her senses.
After all, being touched so closely by Xiao caused his consciousness to go blank, and his mind went completely empty.
"How about we split up? You go and deal with the Psionic Lands problem, and I'll take care of the Mayari Forest situation?" Wendy leaned closer to Xiao, trying to discuss it.
“Okay.” Xiao nodded.
Wendy was still wondering why Xiao was being so agreeable today.
But then Xiao vanished in an instant.
Wendy could only sigh, suppress the chaotic thoughts in her mind, and head towards the Mayari Forest.
Lu Ying was taking a bath at the time. When she heard the fairy say that Wendy was coming, she just nodded and asked the fairy to tell Wendy to wait a while. After all, she had to present her best self when meeting a guest.
Before coming to the Mayari Forest, Wendy had already changed into her little green dress. A feeling of freedom grew in her heart, and even the surrounding wind seemed to cheer her up. Swinging her legs and holding a bottle of wine in her arms, Wendy quietly waited for Lu Ying.
After Lu Ying came out, Wendy jumped off his chair and flew to her side, saying, "Let's resolve the matter of the Town of No Boundaries quickly. I have an even bigger problem to deal with next." Lu Ying immediately became nervous and asked, "Mr. Wendy, what happened?"
"It's just a small problem, it has nothing to do with you. But don't worry about me, everything is fine. Oh dear, let's not talk about that anymore, let's hurry up and solve the problem of the Boundless Town. I think this is a hurdle that you can't let go of, right? It would be better to solve it sooner so you can have peace of mind, wouldn't it?" Wendy brushed it off and changed the subject. As expected, Lu Ying didn't ask any more questions, but led the way to the Boundless Town.
The location of the Boundless Town is not far from the Mayari Forest. It seems that the town was chosen to be so close in order to better plunder the resources of the Mayari Forest. The town is surrounded by walls and wooden stakes, and has watchtowers and alarm bells. If an enemy is spotted, it can quickly take precautions. The layout inside is also very interesting. It looks chaotic, but it is actually well-organized, with the best plan for both attack and retreat.
Simply put, it's a combination of offense and defense.
"It is indeed a bit difficult." Wendy muttered to himself high in the sky. Here he could make sure that the people of the Boundless Town could not see him, but he could see the people of the Boundless Town. If the old man were here, he could have taken care of it with a single Starfall.
Wind can bring hope and a turning point, but it can also bring despair and death. Now Wendy has to consider how to suppress the enemy without destroying the Town of No Boundaries.
Fire? But their houses are all made of wood. If a fire were set on them, it would be a small spark that could start a prairie fire.
Thunder? But Balzeb isn't here; there are only three winds and one water here.
Wendy landed, racking her brains for a long time but still couldn't figure out what to do. Forcing her way through was the last resort, which was not only risky but also threatened with death.
"Lord Wendy, do you have a good idea?" Lu Ying asked expectantly. Wendy shook his head, feigning sadness, and said, "Oh dear, I don't know anything either. I'm just a bard, I don't know much about these things." "Can you please be serious at a time like this!" Lu Ying was almost driven crazy by Wendy's attitude.
"Hey, don't mind it. I just wanted to tease you because you've been frowning. How was it? Pretty good, right?" Wendy stuck out his tongue, looking so innocent that it made you want to punch him.
"Then there's no other way but to force our way in. But it's not me who will break in, it's you." After Wendy finished explaining this plan, she unsurprisingly received an incredulous look from Lu Ying.
"My lord, are you insane?" Lu Ying almost cried out. Wendy shook his head, and with a gentle breeze in his hand, Lu Ying felt her body lighten. The breeze carried her to the gate of the Town of No Boundaries.
"Who goes there! People from the Mayari Forest! Be on guard!" The guard spotted Lu Ying. Lu Ying took a deep breath; now she could only trust that Wendy wouldn't betray her. A green light appeared in her hand, and a longsword materialized. At this point, she had no choice but to fight.
Her lithe figure weaved through the crowd, her pristine white dress transforming into shorts at some point. Accompanied by the spray of red liquid, Lu Ying's speed increased until the gatekeepers became her dead.
A gust of wind rose from nowhere, whipping up yellow sand that blurred the eyes of the soldiers coming to their aid. They could vaguely make out a shadow carrying a weapon as it approached. The shadow gradually became clearer, and Lu Ying's blood-stained figure appeared before all the soldiers' eyes. Her murderous gaze shook the soldiers' morale, and someone dropped their weapon and turned to run away.
Once someone takes the lead, others will naturally follow. In no time, most soldiers deserted, and only a few soldiers stayed behind, but their legs were trembling!
Lu Ying drew her sword and charged forward. The soldiers, already frightened, had no heart to stop her when they saw this, and they ran faster than anyone else.
Seeing this, Lu Ying was stunned. Something was wrong today. What happened? They were usually so fierce, but why did they all run away today?
"I was unaware of the presence of the Holy Maiden of the Mayari Forest. I have failed to greet you properly." A smiling, lean man stepped forward. His smile was warm and friendly, but Lu Ying's eyes immediately turned cold. "Heh, it's been a long time, Mayor." "Oh, no need to get so angry, Holy Maiden. What dissatisfaction do you have with the soldiers we summoned? Why make such a fuss?" The mayor still had that smiling demeanor.
“And you, Mr. Wendy, there’s no need to hide anymore. I know you’ve been helping the saintess behind the scenes.” The mayor’s eyes drifted in another direction. Wendy chuckled, tilted his head, and then stepped forward. “This is our first meeting, isn’t it? It’s an honor that you remember a lowly bard like me.”
“Mr. Wendy’s name is renowned throughout the nation. Everyone knows you, whether as a bard or as a god of this land. You are a figure worthy of our utmost respect,” the mayor said. “Ah, I am truly flattered,” Wendy chuckled.
"So, Miss Saintess, have you come here to continue negotiations regarding the forest division plan, or do you have ill intentions?" The mayor turned to ask Lu Ying. "Enough nonsense! You've harmed my forest's interests and yet you think you're a savior? Your arrogant attitude makes you want the whole world to revolve around you." Lu Ying's eyes turned icy. "Today, I will ensure you never have a chance to rise again!"
"Oh dear, this is really a headache." Wendy felt a terrible headache as she watched as Lu Ying's anger was stirred up by just a few words from the mayor.
(I must always remember that I'm a male-oriented author, and there's more action than romance!)
