Chapter 60 Fate is Set

"Huh? I remember I was in the tavern?" Wendy, still half asleep, stared at the white ceiling for a long time until the aroma wafted into her nose and she realized she was back in the welfare room.

"Tinari? Ugh, my head hurts, and my body aches." Wendy, who had just tried to sit up, was deterred by her physical condition and could only sit back down on the bed with a thud. "Oh, you're awake? I thought you'd lost your mind. Come out and eat since you're awake." Tinari opened the door and saw Wendy rubbing her head. She left after saying that.

"...Huh? Did he just curse at me?" Wendy's brain, which had been frozen, finally started working again. She muttered things like, "I did go out to complete a quest, why was he being so fierce?" Then she belatedly realized that she had bought three barrels of wine at the Guest Tavern.

"My wine!" Forgetting all about appearances, Wendy ran out barefoot without even putting on her shoes. Seeing the three barrels of wine still safely in the hall, she breathed a sigh of relief. Only then did she realize that the soles of her feet were ice-cold and that she wasn't wearing shoes. After a quick "heh," she went back to her room to put on her shoes.

The problem is that when Wendy wasn't wearing shoes, her delicate white stockings covering her small, fair feet caused quite a stir among many foot fetishists in China. They took screenshots or recorded videos, edited them a bit, and posted them online, causing a huge uproar. It even topped the Weibo trending list at one point.

Wendy had no idea that his accidental exposed feet would generate so much buzz. He was still sitting on the stool, waiting for Tinari to cook. What? You're asking why Wendy isn't cooking? Well, all he knows is a classic Anemo Hodgepodge, and he doesn't even have enough ingredients.

Seno returned shortly after, bringing 400 psionic energy. At the dinner table, Tinari seriously criticized Venti for leaving him and Seno to do a quest. It wasn't a big deal, but after finishing the quest, Venti went drinking, and to make matters worse, he needed someone to bring him back. This was a huge embarrassment, from Teyvat to the Dragon Kingdom and now to the Psionic Lands.

But Wendy didn't care. With skin as thick as a city wall, Wendy just chuckled, much to Tinari's annoyance, who flicked Wendy's smooth forehead and stormed back to her room. In contrast, Seno's gaze towards Wendy was far less friendly. His crimson eyes gleamed with a faint red light, the imposing aura of the Grand Disciplinary Officer fully revealed. If Tinari hadn't called out to Seno from inside the room, Wendy felt Seno was about to judge her.

I'm pretty sure I can escape~

"Hmm, the disciplinary officers in Buyer are really scary, but thankfully, they're nothing compared to the old man." Wendy walked down the street, still holding over a hundred psychic powers. After thinking for a moment, he ran to the Ability Association, but this time not to accept a commission. He had heard from Tinari about the monthly ability battles, and he didn't know if it was too late or too early to sign up now.

"You want to register for the superpower PK? Okay, here are the forms. Just fill these out. The first match will start in seven days. Although you may not have a match that day, coming to take a look might give you a better understanding of how to use your superpowers." The receptionist skillfully took out the relevant forms for the superpower PK, and Wendy filled them out while looking at the forms.

"Friendship first, competition second."

We must not kill them.

Giving up means losing the right to participate in the competition.

......

Oh, and there's another sentence in the corner: "For the bright future of mankind." There are many rules and regulations, but they can be summarized in just a few words. After filling in her information, Wendy accepted a very easy errand-running request and skipped off into the street.

After receiving the items from the receptionist, Wendy looked at the address on the paper and the map the receptionist gave her. She quickly found the location: a large house. The recipient was the young lady of the house, but she lived deep inside.

The note even specified not to send anything through the main entrance, but to use any method that wouldn't alert the guards inside, and just get the item to the young lady.

"Wow, this is quite a challenge for me." Wendy looked at the servants standing at the main gate, each one looking fierce and menacing, shuddered, then took off and flew over the fence, successfully entering the yard.

"There are so many patrolling servants around." Wendy peeked out from behind the rockery. Every servant looked well-trained. Helpless, Wendy had no choice but to transform into the wind to find where the young lady lived. The note also described the young lady's appearance: fair-skinned and beautiful, with eyes like stars, and every move she made showed the liveliness and agility of a girl.

"Eh? Is this her?" After searching around, Wendy finally spotted a melancholy young lady by a window in a corner of a courtyard. She was indeed similar to the description on the paper. There were no other servants around, and Wendy suddenly appeared beside the young lady.

"Aaaaaah!" The surprise attack proved to be a bad idea. The poor young lady was caught completely off guard and startled by Wendy. Her ear-piercing scream served as the best alarm for the vigilant servants. Soon, Wendy heard the sound of synchronized footsteps. She instantly transformed into the wind and whispered her purpose in the young lady's ear, finally calming her down.

"Miss, what's wrong?" The head maid, holding a spear, looked around warily. "Nothing, I was just startled." The young lady's calm words reassured the servants. The head maid continued, "Your wedding day is coming soon, please don't be flustered." "I understand," the young lady replied.

But Wendy could tell that the young lady sounded very disappointed.

After the servants had all left, Wendy appeared before her mistress and handed her the items. It was clear that her mistress was overjoyed to receive them; the joy in her eyes was barely concealed. "You look very unhappy," Wendy said. Only then did the mistress realize there was an outsider present, but she didn't have the servants send Wendy away; she simply gave a soft "hmm."

"Are you having trouble? Maybe I can help." Wendy tilted her head, looking at the young lady with her clear eyes. The young lady shook her head, put the things in the pocket closest to her heart, and said, "No need to trouble you. Judging from your appearance, you must be someone with a very high level of superpowers, right? You can be so free. I really envy you."

"If you want to escape, I can help you," Wendy chuckled, her big eyes full of sincerity.
