After leaving the basement, the five cautiously proceeded to the other rooms, where they indeed found the bodies of the other three, all mutilated beyond recognition. However, A-Zhuang said that Yu-Mei, the only girl in their group, was still missing. "Yu-Mei, hmm..." Sister Geng pondered. Only the guest room on the first floor remained unsearched. Wendy yawned, feeling bored; he was starting to crave a drink.
Wendy took an apple from the small capsule and ate it as she followed the others. The apple was crisp and sweet, and a rare smile appeared on Wendy's usually calm face. Next time, I'll bring some for Xiao to try, Wendy thought.
Thinking of Xiao, I couldn't help but think of the old man. If I were to kidnap the old man's only Yaksha general, he would definitely be angry. Ugh, this place is so eerie and scary. Why can't I bring Xiao over? That way, Xiao can fight monsters while I can relax. How great would that be?
It's a pity, gacha pulls are unpredictable. Last time I was already quite lucky to get Xiao, this time it will probably be very difficult, or I might not even get him.
Back on the first floor, just as everyone was wondering how to open the door to the guest room, a sudden change occurred. A huge black hole suddenly appeared beneath their feet, and the powerful suction caught everyone off guard. Wendy was the first to react. Just as everyone was about to fall into darkness, she activated the wind field, lifting everyone up and taking them to safety.
"Zhuang, use your ability." Wendy frowned, knowing they couldn't stay here any longer. She guessed Yu Mei was dead, her body rotting somewhere in the house. "Okay, okay." Zhuang's right hand trembled, a spark of electricity crackling from his fingertips. Wendy closed her eyes, touching her fingertips together to form a triangle. Opening her eyes, her pupils brightened, and she slowly opened her hands, creating a wind field. She then hurled it forcefully towards the center. "Throw your ability towards the center." Wendy's face was slightly pale. Zhuang nodded, throwing the spark towards the center of the wind field. Instantly, the previously blue wind field turned purple, lightning element spreading rapidly.
Suddenly, the wailing from the house and the eerie screams mingled together, and everyone's vision went black as they were back on the streets of the eerie world.
"Should we continue?" Wendy asked breathlessly, looking at Sister Geng. Sister Geng nodded. Eliminating the mysteries in this area would be the best outcome, as it would reduce the number of mysteries humans would face.
"It looks like two more people have appeared over there." A-Zhuang pointed to two figures that suddenly appeared not far away. Upon hearing this, Sister Geng immediately prepared for battle. The figures slowly approached, and it turned out to be Seno and Tina.
“It’s really a place similar to the Dead Zone,” Tinari said. “I guessed you were in trouble, so I came here. Your ultimate goal is to destroy this mysterious place, right? Hmm… this place looks quite large, but there must be something maintaining the mysterious's actions. Here’s what we’ll do: Seno and I will go over there. You guys rest for a bit and look for any other survivors.” Tinari was always a man of action. After saying that, he headed to another area. Sister Geng seemed a little worried, but Wendy said, “The ones who should be worried are the mysterious ones, because the element that person possesses is the nemesis of the mysterious.”
After resting for a while, the group decided to search for survivors. However, before they could even begin, everything went blurry, and they were back in the desert.
"So weak," Seno said. "I was already down before I could even transform. Hmm, we've eliminated them, we can go back now." His tone was very calm, as if he had only done something insignificant. Sister Geng looked around; there were only a few survivors. It was a team of dozens of people, yet only a few had survived... This survival rate made her shake her head.
“You guys go back first,” Wendy said. Tinari looked puzzled and asked, “What’s wrong?” “Nothing, just need to take care of something. Oh, right, I signed up for that superpower level PK competition, remember to cancel it for me.” After Wendy finished speaking, she disappeared.
“Hey, he wouldn’t be thinking of…” Seno leaned closer to Tinari, and although he didn’t say anything more, Tinari could guess what he was thinking.
"No way... but if it were him, he could do it too." Tinari took a deep breath and sighed. If it were him, he probably really could.
"What are you talking about?" Sister Geng and Feng Aofei walked up to Seno and Tinari, noticing Wendy was nowhere to be seen. They asked, "Where's Wendy? Isn't he with you?" "Yeah, he had some things to do and left early, but don't worry about him," Tinari said. "Hey, I was thinking of inviting him for drinks tonight. It's such a shame he couldn't come," Sister Geng said.
"Hmm, maybe next time. Let's go back first." Seno's words were still few, but they were easy to understand. Tinali couldn't stand the heat in the desert for long and collapsed into Seno's arms, where he carried her back to Tengfei City.
In this mysterious world, the woman found everything utterly boring. She had finally found someone who stirred her heart, but the image vanished too quickly; she hadn't even had time to see his next move. "Those little devils who went this time were too weak," the woman thought. "But it's alright, I'll take action myself soon."
"Are you looking at me?" The boy's clear voice suddenly appeared in her ear. The woman turned around sharply and saw her chosen target standing in front of her. Wendy's eyes remained calm, and his tone was indifferent. "Oh? Coming here to die so quickly?" The woman sneered, her ghostly aura surging, and in a short while, she transformed into a monster.
He appeared instantly behind Wendy, who calmly dodged. He had the idea of destroying the Mysterious World and returning to Teyvat to be with Xiao as soon as possible, but now he wanted to change his plans. This was a human matter and had little to do with him.
But Wendy felt she could still manage to eliminate this mysterious leader.
The old man is not here, and we can't contact Teyvat. Tinari and Seno are both in Flying City, and what about the woman? She is shrouded in mystery and is quite powerful herself. Wendy only has three Lightning Talismans and his own wind power.
The good news is that after so many national quests, the wear and tear has gradually healed. Without the Heart of God, Wendy can use more power and even create stronger winds without the aid of the bow.
The world of the supernatural is vast, which is why Wendy abandoned her plan to handle all the mysteries by herself. However, the woman before her is indeed troublesome; she truly deserves to be the leader of the world of the supernatural.
(If I update daily, will I get more five-star reviews?)
I want to write the fifth stage now, because I think it will be a lot of fun, so Wendy might be a bit out of character and not quite in line with his original character.
After all, no one has ever seen Wendy fight seriously, so I hope I won't get scolded for writing this (shrinks head).
It can be revealed that the participant in the fifth phase is: Wendy's Wanderer Zhong Lixiao.
There should be a sixth stage, but the candidates haven't been decided yet because the final boss hasn't fully charged up.
That's all for my rambling. Please recommend books to me every day!
