Chapter 99 First Encounter with Su Bai

Wendy really wanted to go out to sea, but something was blocking her way, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get up. Now, Wendy could only wander aimlessly on the seabed, bored.

Unable to return to her own body and unable to see her own condition, Wendy felt like the worst bard ever. Not only was she denied wine, but she was also forced to work. And to make matters worse, she now didn't even know if she was alive or dead.

Hmm, I shouldn't be dead yet. After all, I'm a wind spirit, and I can reshape my physical body wherever there is wind.

Thinking this, Wendy tried to sense the wind in the sea, but she couldn't sense it at all.

So, what is my current state?

Wendy's head was spinning, and then in the blink of an eye, everything in front of him suddenly went dark.

Where am I?

"Sigh." Zhongli's sigh reached his ears, followed by a familiar power surging into his body. Wendy was slightly shocked; it was Morax's powerful divine energy.

Then Xiao's voice was heard: "Lord Zhongli, this is the last soul in this sea area." "Hmm." Then there was the sound of items being handed over. After that, Zhongli seemed to leave, leaving only Xiao behind.

Then, Wendy felt Xiao kiss her forehead with his lips. The refreshing scent filled her nose. Wendy wanted to move, to touch Xiao with her hands, and to tell Xiao that he was alright. But she couldn't control her body. No matter how much she struggled, she couldn't move her hands, eyes, or mouth.

"You seem lost." A strange male voice suddenly appeared in Wendy's mind, startling her so much that she mustered all her strength. "Don't be nervous, I won't do anything to you." The male voice was very gentle. Then, Wendy felt as if she was being lifted up, and the scene in front of her changed rapidly, finally settling on a pure white space.

Before me stood a boy with long silver hair, fair skin, and clear eyes. Every move he made exuded innocence. He wore a long, pure black veil that concealed his alluring curves. The contrast between black and white made it hard not to draw attention to him.

Wendy realized she could move again and slowly walked towards the boy, her eyes filled with curiosity and wariness.

The boy was also looking Wendy up. He had never seen Wendy's clothes before. Perhaps it was because he had only been awake for a short time and was not keeping up with the times.

Extending a pale white hand, the boy smiled, his eyes crinkling, and said, "Nice to meet you. My name is Su Bai." Wendy's eyes widened suddenly, her pupils trembling with shock. "What's wrong? Is my name not nice?" Su Bai looked puzzled; this was the name someone had given him since he was conscious.

Wendy's hands slowly clenched into fists, her breathing quickened, then gradually relaxed. "Su Bai, hello, I'm Wendy." Wendy tried to keep her voice calm. Su Bai smiled and said, "Nice to meet you, Wendy." "Are you the manipulator behind the nation's destiny?" Wendy asked directly.

Su Bai looked puzzled and said, "I've been here ever since I became conscious. They always say I'm too naive and that I shouldn't have been born. But I don't know why they say I shouldn't have been born. I don't understand."

"Them?" Wendy's eyes flashed with doubt. Then, she heard Su Bai mutter, "They say I am the light of the universe, the last hope of the universe, and they feed me terrible food every day." "Who are they?" Wendy couldn't suppress her curiosity and asked. "They say they stand at the top of the universe and want to create a god who can rule the entire universe."

But they said I was a failure, a defective product, incomplete. Su Bai's voice was full of grievance.

"A god who rules the universe? An artificial god? But they say they stand at the top of the universe, so they should be different from humans." Wendy's mind raced, but the white figure in front of her was an artificial god, but his mind was too simple. He didn't seem like an artificial god; he was more like a child. Wendy didn't sense any divine power from him.

It seems that they don't yet have the strength to fight against themselves?

After looking at Wendy for a while, Su Bai said, "There are some unpleasant substances on your body, which make me feel nauseous..." "Can you remove them?" Hope shone in Wendy's eyes. Su Bai nodded and placed her small hand on Wendy's head. Wendy felt a warm current flowing from her head to her limbs, which felt very comfortable.

“I’ve branded your mind. Once you touch that brand, you can talk to me,” Su Bai said, her voice weak, as if she had exhausted all her strength. “Thank you, I’ll find you,” Wendy nodded, then felt an unprecedented sense of relief.

"Lord Zhongli." The black substance on Wendy's face disappeared rapidly at a visible speed. Xiao immediately got up and found Zhongli. When Zhongli entered the room, Wendy was already sitting up. "Old friend, how are you?" Zhongli asked. Wendy smiled and said, "Better than ever before. Right now, I feel like I can stir up the strongest gale and fill all the winds with my song."

"Yes, I can feel it. Your strength has increased a lot." Zhongli carefully sensed it and could indeed feel that his strength had increased a lot, and the wear and tear he had suffered in the national fortune had indeed improved a lot.

However, no matter how much Wendy's strength increases, I can still knock him away in one go, so there's no need to worry about that.

“I saw Su Bai,” Wendy said. Xiao’s eyes widened slightly, while Zhongli was puzzled. He had never heard of Su Bai’s name before, and Wendy hadn’t mentioned it either. Su Bai’s name was just a fleeting one.

“Su Bai seems to be an artificial god. His mind is still quite simple. I'm wondering if we can win him over,” Wendy said. “An artificial god,” Zhongli pondered, “an artificial god—that kind of god must have been given human desires and selfishness; he's not a proper god.” “That's what I think too, so I'll try my best to bring him to our side and help us,” Wendy said.

Xiao suddenly jolted. Was there someone outside the door just now? But when he turned around, he couldn't see anything anymore.

"An illusion? No, it's not an illusion," Xiao thought to himself. He generally trusted his own feelings and didn't believe in illusions.

On the roof of the ship, the Tracer, wearing a hat and enjoying the sea breeze, didn't say a word. Xiao came out and said, "You just heard what Lord Zhongli and Wendy were saying, right?" "Yes, I heard it. So what?" The Tracer admitted it and said it so casually.
