Chapter Eight: Martial Arts Competition

The school's martial arts arena, built on the back mountain, has ten open-air martial arts platforms. It was originally built for students to spar with each other and for teachers to compete and assess each other.

We must understand that the world is fraught with danger, and only strong military force can support people in protecting their homes. And children are the future of this planet.

Frequent battles and heated martial arts arenas easily ignite children's passion for training, and the school's martial arts arena is always packed with people after school.

However, there will be more people today. In the past, those standing in the arena were mostly level two and three martial artists. Level four martial artists were rarely seen. After all, the difficulty of cultivation increases with each level. Some people with less talent need several years or even more than ten years to complete a breakthrough.

"Look, look! The Moon Goddess has arrived!"

"Wow, my Moon Goddess is so cute! I really want to pinch her cheeks!"

Newcomer Oborozuki: ...!!

Hold on, girl, that's a dangerous idea.

After Longyue arrived at the arena, she saw that there were no less than a thousand people standing inside. She raised her eyebrows slightly and thought that it made sense. Everyone admired martial arts, and now that there were two level-five martial artists, which were rare in the school, sparring, she naturally had to come and join in the fun.

Unlike sparring with teachers, students are generally much weaker than teachers. In contrast, students are more evenly matched with each other. Sometimes, the sparring ends before the teacher has even made a move.

Everyone automatically made way, and because of the challenge Li Hei had issued that afternoon, one of the ten dueling platforms was now empty, reserved specifically for the two to spar.

Normally, this would have already been a hot affair.

Li Hei stood on the stage. He was a young man dressed in black clothes and pants. He stood straight, with fine hair falling on his forehead. His eyes were sharp, like a quiet lone wolf, waiting for its prey to arrive.

The sparring on the martial arts stage is a test of the fusion of punching power, reaction speed, and explosive power. Before everyone had studied martial arts manuals, this was the only way to compete.

Similarly, this is the only way that is most popular with humans: pure power and passion.

Longyue jumped onto the dueling platform. Her master's wife was still waiting for her at home. She couldn't waste too much time here, or her master's wife would get anxious.

"Wait!"

A slightly arrogant female voice came from below the stage. Shao Qiu watched as Long Yue walked onto the stage decisively, and feeling extremely unbalanced, she spoke directly.

Why won't you accept my challenge?

Longyue looked in the direction of the voice and saw a pretty little girl. "I don't hit girls!"

As long as it's not too excessive, she can accept it. If she had to be so calculating about everything, she would have been exhausted long ago when she was still a witch.

Back then, countless people challenged her every day, or openly or secretly made things difficult for her and targeted her. Not to mention those who were jealous of her status and spoke ill of her behind her back.

This girl is so much cuter than she was back then.

"You look down on me!" Shao Qiu's brows furrowed tightly, and her face darkened instantly. She had considered all sorts of reasons why Long Yue would refuse her, but she never expected Long Yue to use such a reason to refuse her, to be so perfunctory!

In Shao Qiu's view, this is not a reason at all!

"I don't accept that reason. You must spar with me first today, or you can forget about sparring with Li Hei!" Shao Qiu raised her head, her pretty face filled with arrogance.

Since demonstrating her talent in cultivation, Shao Qiu has gone from being the least favored daughter in her family to the most important one. Shao Qiu is the eldest child in her family, with a younger brother and a younger sister. Her brother is the second oldest and her sister is the youngest.

Shao Qiu's parents longed for a son, so when Shao Qiu was born, he was not well received. If it weren't for the protection of the Newborn Law, Shao Qiu might have disappeared without a trace after birth.

Shao Qiu's younger brother was born amidst the family's anticipation, and her younger sister was welcomed by her parents from birth because of her older brother. Only Shao Qiu was neglected by her parents before her younger siblings were born, and continued to be neglected by them after their birth.

And because she was the eldest, she had a lot to do before becoming a martial artist. Her father was busy working to earn money to support three children, and her grandparents were away from home all year round. So her mother supported the family both at home and outside, and she needed to help her mother with these chores.

She would be scolded if she did anything wrong, so whenever she saw her younger siblings doing nothing while she had to wash the dirty clothes, mop the floor and wash the dishes, Shao Qiu felt extremely unbalanced.

Later, when her younger brother fell and broke his head while being naughty, and was scolded and beaten by their mother, Shao Qiu snapped and started fighting with her.

Shao Qiu's mother was a level two martial artist. As adults, the two women were of equal strength, which surprised and angered Shao's mother. In the end, she suppressed her anger and took Shao Qiu to the Martial Artist Guild. Thus, Shao Qiu officially became a level two martial artist.

Later, Shao Qiu's status jumped to the highest among the three children, and her parents' attitude towards her also changed 180 degrees, all of which made Shao Qiu feel novel.

Because of her considerable talent, Shao Qiu surpassed her parents in strength within a few years. This made the couple value their eldest daughter even more, and they always granted her requests.

Shao Qiu attributed all of this to her strength; as long as one is strong enough, whatever others do is right.

As for what others think, that's not important, as long as the goal is achieved.

Longyue looked at Shaoqiu in surprise upon hearing her words. She had thought Shaoqiu was just a slightly arrogant girl, but she hadn't expected her to make such a rude request.

Li Hei couldn't take it anymore. He had never liked Shao Qiu. "Shao Qiu, are you ever going to stop? It's Long Yue's freedom to spar with whomever she wants! Can you please stop being so unreasonable?"

"How am I being unreasonable? Why can you spar with her but I can't? Longyue, just say whether you agree or not, just one sentence, be quick about it!"

Shao Qiu felt a little intimidated by Li Hei's gaze, and she didn't understand why. They were both level five martial artists!

"I said I won't hit women!" Longyue stood there quietly, her petite figure impossible to ignore. Even with the imposing Li Hei standing next to her, it didn't affect Longyue's straight back.

"Li Hei, please!"

The pure fusion of movement and martial arts allowed Longyue and Li Hei to exchange blows, their fists and feet moving with incredible speed, almost instantly moving the moment they reached a point.

Shao Qiu's face was filled with embarrassment, her eyes lowered. She hadn't expected that even after saying all this, Long Yue wouldn't accept the challenge. She knew she wouldn't dare to do it this way, but what did it matter? As long as she won, wasn't that enough? Losers didn't deserve to be liked!

For example, her younger brother and sister-in-law now have to do her laundry and cook for her, right?
