Chapter 219: A Hand in Hand

Chapter 219: A Hand in Hand

Two bags of prop pig blood bags rolled out from under the white clothes of the ancient style male god Zhang Chenyi and fell onto the empty horse farm, attracting everyone's attention.

The whole place fell into dead silence.

Even the director was dumbfounded.

The three jumping around staff members bribed by Zhang Chenyi were now standing there awkwardly.

Jiang Mo dismounted from his horse, his eyebrows slightly raised: "Teacher Zhang, this scene... the director didn't seem to plan for any blood, did he?"

His voice was not loud, but it was loud enough for those around him to hear clearly: "Or did Teacher Zhang direct and act out this whole thing himself?"

The cameras of the on-site photographers and fan club members were all aimed at the blood bag on the ground.

"Holy crap! Is this a scam?"

"Impossible! How could Teacher Zhang..."

"How is it impossible? It's strange that the horse suddenly went crazy. He even prepared blood bags in advance?"

"And just now, when Zhang Chenyi was going crazy, he even shouted, 'Jiang Mo, who would believe you if you weren't making a false accusation?'"

Zhang Chenyi's fans couldn't believe their idol could be such a person. They stubbornly asked, "What if it was a mistake by the props team and they stuffed the blood bag for the next scene onto Chenyi in advance?"

The scene was in chaos, and the director's face turned cold: "Zhang Chenyi, what's going on?"

As a director who was able to secure cooperation with the Xizhou Province, Director Luo was not afraid of the backgrounds of these actors.

Zhang Chenyi's face turned pale, and he pursed his lips: "Director, the stagehand informed me that I need to bring a blood bag for this scene, and there will be an injury scene."

One of the stagehands bribed by Zhang Chenyi quickly and timidly walked up to Director Luo and said, "Director Luo, I'm sorry, I miscommunicated! I got it mixed up!"

Director Luo has been in the directing industry for so many years, how could he be fooled?

"Just film the movie. Don't mess with these nonsense that will affect the filming. This is a project supported by the province!"

Zhang Chenyi shot a cold look at Xu Ying: "Director Luo, aren't you surprised that this variety show guest showed up on the set, wearing gloves?"

"She disrupted the order on the set! I even suspected that my horse's loss of control was related to her."

Xu Ying showed her work ID: "Oh, I'm here on behalf of the Desert Scenic Area Zoo and the Xizhou Province Animal Protection Association to look after these young animal actors on the set."

"I'm considered the supervisor. Oh, Director Luo knows about this."

Xu Ying grinned.

After she signed the cooperation contract with Jiang Mo, she anticipated that she might have to show her true identity on the set, so she kept a plan, reported to Director Yi, applied for a proper work permit, and also informed Director Luo privately.

There was admiration and worship in Jiang Mo's eyes when he looked at Xu Ying, which he himself was not aware of. Stationmaster Xu was really flawless in his work.

Zhang Chenyi's expression froze. He thought Xu Ying was secretly brought into the set by Jiang Mo, but he didn't expect Director Luo to know!

He looked at Director Luo, whose face was already ashen.

"No more filming this morning!" Director Luo snorted coldly, "There's no peace until this major issue on the crew is resolved!"

“Luckily, the problem was discovered in time, not long after filming started!”

Zhang Chenyi's face was stiff. Could the "big problem in the crew" that Director Luo mentioned be referring to him?

Zhang Chenyi was helped up from the ground by his assistant. He had a strong psychological endurance and his complexion had returned to normal by now.

"Director, please understand. I am truly a victim."

After Chengfeng was calmed down, Xu Ying squatted down and carefully examined the wound on the side of its neck.

The needle hole was tiny, but a bruise had appeared around it, obviously caused by someone having stabbed it hard.

"Venous bleeding, needle marks." She looked up, her sharp eyes sweeping over everyone on the set. "As for who the needle belonged to, we'll know by checking the fingerprints."

"Teacher Zhang, where did you throw the needle?"

——"What are you talking about? What needle?"

Zhang Chenyi looked up in confusion, without any trace of acting.

Xu Ying stared into Zhang Chenyi's eyes, curling the corners of her lips slightly, but did not answer immediately.

She gently stroked Chengfeng's mane and whispered, "Chengfeng, where's the needle?"

The horse shook its head and snorted heavily: [He threw it... over there...]

Xu Ying narrowed his eyes and looked in the direction Chengfeng pointed - it was a sandy area at the edge of the set, surrounded by haystacks and props used for filming.

"Squeak, squeak, come out quickly." she called softly.

Almost at the moment she finished speaking, a gray-brown little gerbil crawled out of her backpack, jumped onto her shoulder nimbly, sniffed Chengfeng's wound with its little nose, and then "whoosh" rushed out.

She had asked the Peregrine Falcon Lightning to spare the life of this little gerbil, and it was an old native of the horse farm.

"Wow, it's the gerbil from Station Master Xu's work diary!"

"Is it trying to help me find the needle? How clever!"

Everyone's eyes followed the small figure.

Zhang Chenyi's expression froze for a moment, but soon returned to normal, even revealing a hint of a helpless smile: "Miss Xu, are you kidding me? You're humiliating me with a mouse?"

Xu Ying ignored him and followed the little gerbil with his eyes.

The little guy darted across the sand, finally stopping next to an inconspicuous haystack. "Stationmaster Xu, I'm here!"

Xu Ying put on evidence-collecting gloves, scratched the place marked by the gerbil a few times, pinched out a needle from the sand, and put it into the evidence bag.

Xu Ying waved the evidence bag towards everyone.

Her voice was clear and cold: "The needle has been found."

The whole audience was in an uproar.

Zhang Chenyi's pupils shrank slightly, but his face remained confused. "What does this mean? There are so many props on the set, who knows whose needle it is?"

Xu Ying chuckled: "Really?"

She turned to the director and said, "Please check the surveillance video playback to see Teacher Zhang's hand movements."

The director immediately signaled the cameraman to replay the footage.

Under the high-definition camera, at the moment when Jiang Mo's sword brushed against Chengfeng's neck, a cold light did flash from the sleeve of Zhang Chenyi's left hand - although it was extremely fast, it could still be identified as a thin needle when it was played in slow motion.

Zhang Chenyi's fingertips trembled slightly, but his tone remained calm: "This is just the reflection of the props used in the filming. Miss Xu is too arbitrary."

Xu Ying stood up, looked around, and spoke in a clear and calm voice:

"I'm sure many people know that I'm an animal language communicator and can understand what animals say."

She patted Chengfeng's neck and said, "Chengfeng just told me that it was Zhang Chenyi who stabbed it with an embroidery needle, which caused it to go crazy with pain. It wasn't Jiang Mo's sword that hurt it at all."

There was an uproar at the scene!

Zhang's fans immediately exploded:

"You're the only one here who can understand animals, so whatever you say is what happens!"

"That's right! Who knows if you deliberately framed Teacher Zhang!"

Xu Ying sneered and was about to refute when suddenly——

"Make way."

A deep and cold male voice came from the back of the crowd.

The onlookers automatically made way for a path, and a tall man strode over.

He was wearing a dark blue police uniform, the police badge on his shoulder epaulettes shone coldly in the sun, his eyebrows were sharp, and his eyes were like knives.
