Chapter 6 Red Mushroom and Lean Pork Noodles

"Yaoyao was very well behaved today! I cooked her some red mushroom and lean pork noodles for lunch, and guess what, Yaoyao actually ate a whole bowl!"

Zhou Xiuqin gestured on the bowl to measure the amount Yaoyao ate, and looked very happy.

"Oh, Yaoyao has a good appetite today!"

Shen Yunzhao was shocked. This was the first time that her daughter, the rice dregs, had eaten so much. She usually only ate the bottom of the bowl.

"The red mushroom noodles were so fresh and sweet, so delicious! Not only did Yaoyao eat a lot, but your dad and I ate quite a bit too! I cooked a big pot, and now there's only a small pot left. Do you want some? If you do, I'll heat it up."

"want."

Zhou Xiuqin heated up the noodles and Cheng Shaoyuan also got up.

They each ordered a bowl of noodles.

After taking the first bite, both of them widened their eyes at the same time. It was too delicious!

The noodles have the unique sweetness of red mushrooms and the sweetness of noodles. Take a light bite and the two sweetnesses spread in your mouth, giving your taste buds the ultimate enjoyment.

The soup is sweet and smooth, but because it has been stored for a long time, it is not as fresh. However, the sweetness of the red mushroom is thoroughly released, and the aroma is more intense.

The cap is fleshy and smooth with a slight sweetness when you bite it; the taste of the stem is not so good, a bit woody, but it is much better than what I have eaten before.

Chen Yunzhao and Cheng Shaoyuan eat red mushrooms every year, both fresh and dried.

But I’ve never eaten anything so delicious!

The two of them were sweating profusely while eating, and their bowls were empty in just a short while.

When the two wanted to fight again, the bowl was already empty, with not a single noodle left.

Shen Yunzhao touched his stomach, feeling strange. After eating a bowl of noodles, why did he feel even hungrier?

Cheng Shaoyuan licked his lips, savoring the taste of the noodles, and his mouth immediately began to water.

He subconsciously reached out to wipe his mouth, then quickly put his hand down.

"Mom, shall we have noodles tonight?"

Zhou Xiuqin said cheerfully, "Sure! Tomorrow I'll go to the countryside and buy a hen to stew with red mushrooms."

This proposal was agreed by everyone.

Neither Shen Yunzhao nor Cheng Shaoyuan were full, but in order to eat more red mushroom noodles in the evening, they only ate some fruit to fill their stomachs and did not eat anything else.

After eating, they carried Yaoyao out to deliver red mushrooms.

I first gave two kilograms to my younger sister Shen Yunduo's family.

Shen Yunduo took the basket, glanced at it casually, and said in surprise, "This red mushroom is so beautiful!"

Red mushrooms of similar size lie in the basket, like open red umbrellas, and their bright red color makes them look festive.

Shen Yunduo flipped through it casually and found that the red mushrooms inside were all about the same size, with only a few being particularly large.

Except for those particularly large ones, the other red mushrooms are of good quality.

Chen Yunduo: "That's too much! Red mushrooms must be expensive now. How much would so many cost? I can just use these big ones to make soup. I don't need so many."

Shen Yunduo had already picked out the particularly large ones and placed them on the table, then returned the basket to Shen Yunzhao.

Shen Yunzhao glared at her and put the basket back on the table.

"Why are you so polite? We picked these ourselves in the mountains! We were lucky and picked a lot, so we still have a lot left when we sell them at the Dongmen Market."

Chen Yunduo was no longer polite and asked with great interest, "Are you still selling red mushrooms in the market? Where did you pick them? Take me with you to pick some sometime."

Shen Yunzhao couldn't tell anyone about the space, so he could only lie, "That won't do. We were taken there by someone else, and he asked us not to tell anyone about the location."

Chen Yunduo didn't ask any more questions, but went to the backyard and caught a hen.

Their chickens are raised in the back mountain. They are not fed with feed or corn kernels, only millet.

The problem is that the back mountain is small, and the chickens don't have much space to move around. What's more, Chen Yunduo's parents-in-law are very generous when feeding the chickens, and they spread a lot of millet, so her chickens are all fat.

The little hen looked quite large, with shiny feathers.

Shen Yunzhao wanted to refuse, but Shen Yunduo was very determined, as if she was going to take the hen away without letting the other two leave.

He even extended a cordial invitation, "Come to my house for dinner tonight. I'm going to kill a chicken right now, and we can have chicken stewed with red mushrooms tonight."

"Forget it. I went to pick red mushrooms early this morning and I'm exhausted. I'm going home to sleep."

Before leaving, Cheng Shaoyuan borrowed a fishing rod.

Next, they gave a pound of red mushrooms to each of their cousins, aunt, younger aunt, and aunt-in-law.

When I got home, Zhou Xiuqin was washing celery in the kitchen.

"Mom, I have something to tell you." Shen Yunzhao stood at the kitchen door but didn't go in. He pointed outside and said, "Come out. I'll tell you now."

"What's the matter?" Zhou Xiuqin looked puzzled. She put the washed celery away and wiped her hands before coming out.

Shen Yunzhao pulled her to the sofa and said, "You may have never heard of what I'm going to say next, and it will be very shocking. But you must stay calm and don't panic."

Zhou Xiuqin looked at Shen Yunzhao, then at Cheng Shaoyuan, and then at Yaoyao who was held in Cheng Shaoyuan's arms and playing with toys.

"Tell me, your mother has a strong heart. As long as you don't kill or burn anything, I can accept it."

Shen Yunzhao: ...

She underestimated her mother!

"Well, it's like this. Didn't you ask me before where I picked those red mushrooms? I told you, I actually have a space..."

Shen Yunzhao told the whole story about the space.

But Zhou Xiuqin had an expression that said, "You take me for a fool," and didn't believe it at all.
