Chapter 11 Going to the Countryside (2/2)

By this time, Li Bowen and Wang Huilan should have already been arrested, right?

She went to the police station to report the case on behalf of the original owner's mother. Regardless of whether Li Bowen and Wang Huilan were responsible for the original owner's mother's death, it must be related to them. As long as she went to the police station, the police would definitely be able to find some clues.

She wants Li Bowen and Wang Huilan to pay the price for their actions.

"Hello, are you also an educated youth going to the countryside in the southern province?" A playful female voice rang in her ears, pulling Li Xiyue back to reality.

Li Xiyue turned her head and saw a girl who looked about seventeen or eighteen years old sitting next to her. She had two braids, a round face, thick eyebrows and big eyes, and a pair of dimples when she smiled. She was very cute.

Seeing the other person's friendly smile, Li Xiyue smiled and replied, "Yes."

"That's great! I'm also going to the countryside in the southern province. My name is Huang Xinrui. Huang means yellow, Xin means happy, and Rui means a grass radical with three hearts on top. What's your name?" the girl asked excitedly.

Li Xiyue was amused by her introduction, "My name is Li Xiyue, Li as in 'wood,' Xi as in 'hope,' and Yue as in 'moon.'"

"Your name is so pretty." Huang Xinrui looked at her with starry eyes. "You're so beautiful too, the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."

Li Xiyue was embarrassed by her praise. She had looked in the mirror and realized that the original owner looked exactly like her. She had a good foundation, and the spiritual spring water made her skin smooth and fair, making her stand out in a crowd.

"Hmph—" A sneer came from the other side.

Li Xiyue looked over and saw that it was also a girl about the same age as them. The original owner remembered this person, named Zhao Xiaoli, who was Li Muqing's high school classmate and also Li Muqing's lackey.

"Ignore her." Huang Xinrui glared at Zhao Xiaoli, then grabbed Li Xiyue's hand and whispered, "My aunt is in Nan Province. My parents used their connections to get me a rural job there. Xiyue, do you also have relatives in Nan Province?"

Li Xiyue shook her head, "I don't have any relatives there, but I like the South."

“I like it too, with fragrant rice,” Huang Xinrui said, licking her lips.

Zhao Xiaoli scoffed, "People like you who want to eat rice? How many work points can you earn? I think you'd be better off eating bran and wild vegetables every day."

"Hey, don't go too far!" Huang Xinrui, unable to bear it any longer, pointed at Zhao Xiaoli and yelled, "What business is it of yours what we say? Do you live by the sea? Why are you so nosy!"

"Did I say something wrong?" Zhao Xiaoli wasn't intimidated. "Look at you, you probably can't even lift farm tools. How can you earn work points to eat?"

Huang Xinrui replied, "Aren't you the same? Skinny arms and legs, you'd blow away in the wind. What? Is your family too poor, not enough to eat, that's why you're so thin?"

Zhao Xiaoli was hit where it hurt, and she got angry and stood up to fight.

Before she could make a move, Li Xiyue had already grabbed her wrist and applied a little force.

"Ouch! It hurts!" Zhao Xiaoli bent over in pain, her face turning deathly pale.

Li Xiyue asked, "Can I lift farm tools?"

Zhao Xiaoli gritted her teeth and remained silent.

Li Xiyue exerted force again, and Zhao Xiaoli cried out in pain, tears welling up in her eyes, "I can lift it, I can lift it!"

She never expected Li Xiyue to be so strong; she could lift her up and dance, let alone farm tools.

"You better behave yourself, or I'll throw you out the window!"

Zhao Xiaoli nodded repeatedly in fright.

Coward!

Li Xiyue released her grip, took out water to wash her hands, and thought, "What a damn bad luck!"
