Chapter 149 Li Xiyue is reported (2/2)

Li Xiyue said, "I don't know where Ye went. I guess he went to Pandi's house. Didn't they recently take a puppy home to raise?"

"Could it be Xiaobai's baby?" Huang Xinrui boldly guessed.

Li Xiyue couldn't help but chuckle, "I don't know, but it's possible."

While playing with the puppy at Pandi's house, Xiaobai couldn't help but sneeze. Who was talking badly about it behind its back?

"Dinner's ready, Xiaobai. Why don't you eat with us too?" Lai Di brought out a dog bowl, placed it in front of the puppy, and patted Xiaobai's head as she spoke.

Little White barked twice and started eating with the puppy without any hesitation.

Lai Di grinned from ear to ear, "Xiao Bai isn't picky about food at all, and neither is my Xiao Hua. They're such good dogs."

The black and white dog with a few tufts of yellow fur barked in a babyish voice, its chubby little body wriggling a few times and its tiny tail swishing.

Xiao Bai: Its daughter is so cute.

After lunch, Li Xiyue and Huang Xinrui were cleaning up the kitchen when Chen Xinjian rushed in. "Dr. Li, my father's condition isn't good. Could you please come over and take a look at him?"

"Okay, I'm coming right now." Li Xiyue quickly went back into the house to get the first-aid kit and went to the yard to ride her bicycle.

Huang Xinrui came out with gloves and a scarf. "Yueyue, it's snowing again. It's cold riding a bike. Put on your gloves and scarf."

Li Xiyue took the item and put it on while saying, "Xinrui, if there are any patients, tell them to go to Uncle Liu. If there is an emergency, go to the Hongqi Production Team to find me."

"Okay." Huang Xinrui nodded.

Li Xiyue put on her gloves and then wrapped her scarf around her neck. The scarf was made of rabbit fur by Fang Yue'e. Xu Dashan would send it over as soon as the weather got cold, and it was very warm to wear.

The two rode away in a hurry. Huang Xinrui was bored, so she went into the kitchen, lit a charcoal fire, and roasted sweet potatoes while warming herself. She thought that Yueyue must be cold when she came back from outside, and that eating a hot roasted sweet potato would warm her up.

The snow outside was falling heavier and heavier, and the cold wind was howling.

Just as two sweet potatoes were roasted, Wang Jiaxing came looking for them.

"Why are you here all alone? Where is Dr. Li?" Wang Jiaxing handed a scarf to Huang Xinrui and sat down by the brazier.

Huang Xinrui took the scarf and put it on. "Yueyue went to the emergency room. I got up early this morning and you were all gone. How dare you ask?"

"I was just helping the villagers repair their houses, don't be angry. I'll make some money and buy you a gift for the New Year," Wang Jiaxing coaxed gently.

Huang Xinrui then smiled.

"By the way, when I passed by the team committee office just now, the cadres were all having a meeting inside, discussing how to deal with Zhao Zhiqing."

Huang Xinrui cursed, "That Zhao guy deserves it. He's completely angered the Party Secretary's family. He's going to get what's coming to him now."

Wang Jiaxing nodded. He hadn't expected Zhao Guohua to do such a thing; this had completely cut off his own escape route.

"Dr. Li!" Zhou Yunze rushed into the clinic as the two were talking inside.

Huang Xinrui called out to him, "Yueyue went to the emergency room, Zhou Zhiqing, what's up?"

ā€œI’m fine, but when we came back from town, we saw a few revolutionaries at the village entrance,ā€ Zhou Yunze said.

Huang Xinrui asked in confusion, "What are they doing here?"

"Could it be an investigation into Zhao Zhiqing's funeral?" Wang Jiaxing asked.

"Who is Li Xiyue?" Before Zhou Yunze could speak again, a strange man's voice rang out from outside the courtyard.

The three looked over and saw two men standing outside the courtyard, both wearing red armbands. They were members of the Revolutionary Committee and were clearly there for Li Xiyue.
