To welcome Li Xiyue, Chu Xingbang asked Aunt Tian to prepare a large table of delicious dishes. Knowing that Li Xiyue could drink, he also brought out his treasured wine, vowing to drink with Li Xiyue until they were both drunk.
Chu Xun, standing nearby, said, "Grandpa, the doctor said you can't drink alcohol."
"I'll drink," Chu Xingbang said shamelessly. "I'm not drinking with you, I'm drinking with Yueyue, what's it to you?"
Chu Xun tried to persuade him again, "Grandpa..."
"Ah Xun, it's alright. Let Grandpa Chu drink a little today, and I'll prescribe a medicine for him to regulate his body tomorrow," Li Xiyue said with a smile.
Chu Xingbang beamed with joy, "My Yueyue is the most sensible one."
Chu Xun was helpless. After drinking, he had to take medicine to regulate his body. It was not worth it, but he knew that he was a nobody and had no influence, so he had no choice but to let them do as they pleased.
Quan Yicheng was stunned. "Ah Xun, it seems you've fallen out of favor."
"Be more confident, and drop the word 'seems'," Chu Xun said as he poured him a drink.
Quan Yicheng covered the glass with his hand, saying, "I have to drive tonight, so I won't drink."
"Where are we going tonight?" Chu Xun sensed something was amiss. "I've finally come back, aren't you going to have a drink with me?"
Quan Yicheng said with a smile, "Yingying is coming back from the army tonight, and I'm going to pick her up."
Chu Xun understood immediately, "You haven't won her over yet?"
"There's nothing I can do. With your brilliant example before her, she can't see me." Quan Yicheng said with a wry smile.
Chu Xun rolled his eyes at him, "I haven't been in the capital for a year, what does that have to do with me? You're the one who's useless."
"I admit it." Quan Yicheng readily admitted defeat. "But now that you've brought your girlfriend back, she'll probably give up."
Chu Xun chuckled lightly, "I never gave her even the slightest hope."
"I know that." Quan Yicheng poured himself a cup of tea. "Thanks, brother."
Chu Xun clinked glasses with him. "Why are you thanking me?"
"Thanks for not giving her hope." Quan Yicheng smiled.
Chu Xun rolled his eyes. "Pathetic."
"What are you two grown men whispering about?" Chu Xingbang and Li Xiyue had drunk a few glasses of wine, and seeing the two of them talking quietly, they were furious. "Like young ladies, aren't you ashamed?"
Chu Xun and Quan Yicheng exchanged a helpless glance. "What are your instructions, Grandpa?"
"Come drink with me, what if my Yueyue gets drunk?" Chu Xingbang said.
Chu Xun laughed and said, "Even if we all get drunk, Yueyue won't get drunk."
"Your sister-in-law has such a high alcohol tolerance?" Quan Yicheng exclaimed in surprise.
Li Xiyue was very modest, saying, "It's just so-so."
"Old Chief, Ah Xun, Chief Xie is here," Aunt Tian said as she walked in from outside.
Chu Xingbang was overjoyed. "Quickly invite him in. It's a good opportunity for him to meet my future granddaughter-in-law."
"No need to invite me in, come in." Xie Zhenhua walked in casually.
Chu Xun led Li Xiyue to her feet and greeted him, "Thank you, Grandpa Xie."
"Hello, Grandpa Xie." Quan Yicheng saw the person behind him and immediately ran over. "Yingying, why did you come back early? Didn't we agree that I would pick you up?"
Xie Mingying gave him a cold look. "Why would I need you to take it?" She strode forward and smiled at Chu Xingbang, saying, "Grandpa Chu, I brought you your favorite roast duck."
Chu Xingbang laughed heartily, "Yingying is so filial; she always brings me roast duck whenever she comes to visit."
"I know Grandpa Chu loves to eat it." Xie Mingying handed the roast duck to Aunt Tian. "Aunt Tian, thank you for your hard work."
"You're welcome." Aunt Tian took the roast duck and went to the kitchen to plate it.
Xie Mingying then looked at Chu Xun, "Brother Xun, when did you arrive?"
Li Xiyue sized up the girl in front of her. She looked to be in her early twenties, quite pretty, but with a touch of heroism in her eyes and brows. She had short hair that reached her ears and her demeanor was very dashing.
However, the way she looked at Chu Xun was undisguised admiration, indicating that she was Chu Xun's admirer.
"Just arrived this afternoon," Chu Xun replied indifferently, then introduced Li Xiyue, "Yueyue, this is the old chief you treated on the train before, do you remember?"
