Chapter 231 Saving the Girl from Under the White Knife (1/2)

Li Xiyue wasn't surprised. Although she hadn't interacted with Lu Feng much, she felt that he wasn't a bad person at heart.

“You don’t seem very happy,” Li Xiyue said, taking a sip of water.

Chu Xun was confident: "Even without him, we can still take down Wu Laohu."

"But it's always good to have more help."

Chu Xun nodded. "Let's not talk about this anymore. Why don't you rest here this afternoon and go back tonight? It's too hot outside."

“No, Grandpa has retired, and Weiwei hasn’t finished her apprenticeship yet. The clinic can’t be left unattended.” Li Xiyue shook her head.

Chu Xun then said, "Then I'll take you back."

"No need, you go ahead with your business. I'll ride my bike back in a bit."

Chu Xun insisted, "I'll just drop you off at the village entrance and come right back; it won't take much time."

It's too hot, and he can't bear to see his partner suffer.

The car stopped at the village entrance. Li Xiyue unbuckled her seatbelt, opened the car door, and then, as if remembering something, looked around. Seeing that no one was around, she leaned over and kissed Chu Xun before jumping out of the car with her basket on her back.

Chu Xun shook his head with a smile, got off the car, and called out to the person who had run away after doing something bad, "Don't you want the bicycle and Xiaobai anymore?"

Only then did she remember her forgotten companion. Li Xiyue ran back, her fair and pretty face full of a triumphant smirk.

"You little rascal." Chu Xun pinched the tip of her nose and handed her the bicycle.

Li Xiyue mounted the horse and rode into the village, laughing loudly.

Little White followed beside the car, panting heavily from the heat.

Chu Xun smiled and watched her leave before getting into his car and driving away.

Having amused her partner, Li Xiyue was in a great mood and hummed a little tune as she rode her bike.

"Yueyue, I'm going to find my daughter." After returning to the clinic, Xiaobai drank some water in the yard for a while before running off with those words.

Li Xiyue smiled and shook her head. People who have become fathers, or rather, dogs, are different; their hearts are filled with concern for their children.

When Xiaobai arrived at the three sisters' house, she found the gate wide open, the house empty, and Xiaohua not there either.

They looked around but couldn't find her. They assumed the three sisters had taken their daughter to the mountain to cut vines, and were about to go out to look for her when Xu Xiazhu hurriedly returned.

"Xiaobai, is Xiaohua back?" Xu Xiazhu asked hurriedly when she saw Xiaobai.

"She didn't come back." Xiao Bai walked to Xu Xiazhu's feet and barked, "Where did my daughter go?"

"My sister and I went up the mountain to cut vines, leaving Xiaohua to watch the house. When we came back, Xiaohua was gone. We searched everywhere, but we couldn't find her." Xu Xiazhu was almost in tears. "Where did Xiaohua go? Is she lost?"

Upon hearing this, Xiaobai turned and ran away.

"Xiaobai, where are you going?" Xu Xiazhu chased after him for a few steps but couldn't catch up, so she could only continue searching in other places.

Liu Qingju went home to fetch water and was about to go to the fields when suddenly a dark shadow darted out from beside her feet. She turned around and saw it was a black dog. She shouted at the top of her lungs, "Heroic dog, why are you running so fast?"

Her response was the dust kicked up by Little White as it ran.

Liu Qingju sighed, "This dog is really strong. Dr. Li must be rich; even her dog is so robust."

“You’re envious? Then go be Dr. Li’s dog.” Wang Cuihua, who had also come back to fetch water, replied.

"Wang Cuihua, if you keep spouting nonsense, I'll tear your mouth apart!"
