"What did you say?" Ye Tian's voice almost cracked. "Go back to what home?"
Li Xiyue picked up a piece of fish, removed a bone from it, and said calmly, "Of course, she should go back to her own home, the Chu family."
Ye Tian slammed his fists on the table, his fiery eyes fixed on her. "Impossible!"
His men are guarding the place all around, and he's been watching outside the house the whole time; there's no way she could have gotten rid of him.
"There's a hole under the bed, didn't you notice?" Li Xiyue reminded her, putting a piece of fish into her mouth.
Ye Tian glanced behind him, and someone hurriedly left. A moment later, they returned and said, "There is indeed a hole under the bed, about the width of a person, that connects to the outside."
"When did you dig this hole? Are you dead? Why didn't you notice anything?" Ye Tian looked at Yagyu Kojiro, furious.
He was usually mild-mannered and rarely even raised his voice, so this was the first time he had ever lost his temper like this. Everyone was so frightened that they didn't dare to breathe.
Yagyu Kojiro felt a chill run down his spine.
Last night, he and his guards inexplicably fell asleep. When they woke up, it was already morning, but nothing had happened. Fearing that his boss would blame him, he kept it a secret.
Now he realized that they weren't asleep at all; they had been drugged.
That hole was dug while they were unconscious.
Xu Xiangyang came over after hearing the news and asked, "What happened?"
"She didn't know who she was working with to kidnap Xiangxiang." Ye Tian's emotions were barely concealed, revealing his breakdown.
Li Xiyue said, "It's with Brother Jiang and Yicheng, and we're not arresting them, we're just bringing Chu Xiang, who has been separated from us for many years, home."
"Isn't the Chu family guarded by GWH people? How did they manage to get out and collude with you from the inside?" Ye Tian's head was about to explode. He pointed at Li Xiyue, his face terribly gloomy. "And aren't you afraid I'll kill your grandfather?"
Li Xiyue picked at the fish with her chopsticks, her expression unusually calm. "My grandfather isn't in your hands at all, is he?"
Ye Tian's expression changed.
“If I’m not mistaken, this should be an orphanage.” Li Xiyue looked at his pale face and smiled, “I guessed right.”
Ye Tian's face darkened for a moment, then he suddenly laughed. "Even if your grandfather isn't in my hands, aren't you? It seems the Chu family doesn't value you much. Why didn't they take you out with them? It seems that in their eyes, only the Chu family members are the most important, and we outsiders are not worth mentioning at all."
"No need to stir things up. They wanted me to come along, but I was worried that being too conspicuous would make me easy to expose. Besides, wouldn't I have to stay behind to hold you off?"
Ye Tian pulled out a gun and pointed it at her, his eyes bloodshot. "Do you really think I wouldn't bear to kill you?"
“I’ve never thought that way. I don’t overestimate my importance in anyone’s eyes.” Li Xiyue finished eating and put down her chopsticks. “It’s just that you don’t know me well. I won’t do something unless I’m absolutely sure.”
If she wasn't confident of getting away today, why would she willingly stay and mediate with him?
"You think I can't bring her back? The Chu family has collapsed and can't protect Chu Xiang at all. Everything you've done is in vain!"
Li Xiyue gestured for her to try, "You can give it a shot."
Ye Tian looked at Yagyu Kojiro, "Go to the Chu family and find them for me!"
Just as Yagyu Kojiro was about to leave, someone rushed over and said urgently, "Miyano-kun, Zhang Tianhua has been arrested!"
